Minnie's or Goofy's breakfast?

We will be staying at DLH end of October... trying to figure out which character breakfast to do, and on which day (Th, Fri or Sat.) I figure we'll want to go early and get a full breakfast in and then head to the park... and we'll have early entry and want to take advantage of that. Not sure what time the park will open in October, probably 10 am? So early entry is what 9 am? So, breakfast at 8? Sound right??

Anyone have a favorite for character breakfast or are they pretty much the same?

Thanks in advance,

An 8 AM PS for a 9 AM EE is not nearly enough time.

You generally want to allow AT LEAST an hour for your character breakfast, probably longer. You may not get seated right away, and it usually takes around an hour for the characters to make the rounds to your table (only once at dinner did it take longer than an hour at Goofy's kitchen); Goofy's kitchen will tell you that you are allowed up to 90 minutes. Add to that, you want to give yourselves time to get to the park, and its strongly recommended that you are at the gates at least 20 minutes before opening so that you are not caught behind a very long line of people at the gate. If I was going to try to have breakfast before going to the park, I'd probably make my PS 2 hours before EE or park opening.

It's been awhile since I've been to the parks during the off-season, but I'm thinking a 10AM opening is probably right for Thursday, but an earlier opening is very possible for Friday and especially Saturday.

Minnie and Friends is open from park opening until 11AM. You won't be able to have breakfast there before DL opens. Goofy's Kitchen has always been my favorite for character meals, perhaps because they seem to have more characters and more variety. The food is probably better than the Minnie and Friends breakfast.

Personally, I prefer to grab a very light breakfast, go to the parks and enjoy the light crowds in the early morning, and then have my character meal a bit later. I like Goofy's at noon when they are open for lunch, or a late seating at one the other places. If it was me, I'd plan a late character breakfast on
Saturday when DL opens early, so that I am eating when DL is starting to get a bit crowded.

Just did both of these last week and definitely enjoyed Goofy's better - the food, characters, everything. But we did Goofy's on our checking out day so we had nowhere to rush to (except the airport).

Last week EE was at 7AM so we were on line at 6:30, and then did a 10:10 breakfast at Minnie's once the park started getting crowded and we had already been on Nemo and most of Fantasyland.

But if we're just talking about the restaurants, I'd definitely say Goofy's - it was in a different class as far as I'm concerned.

Okay, Goofy's it is... and more time... got it... we are flying in at the crack of dawn, should be at the hotel around 10 or so on Wednesday... check in... pray for a room early for nap time and head out to the parks for a bit... I figure we'll be tired but ready to go on Thursday... maybe with the park opening later that would be a good day to hit the character breakfast. So much research still to do before we go! At least it'll keep me busy...

That's a good plan. The parks will close pretty early on Wed., so you should be able to get some sleep before your Thursday breakfast.

You've found a good place to do some research. Happy planning!

Goofy's is definitely my favorite. Although I also love the Lilo and Stitch one. But I agree with CalGal, the variety of Goofy's (character wise) cannot be beat. I have eaten at Goofy's about ten times and had a great time (and food) each time. Have a great trip to DL!

Oh and offseason, park hours generally do seem to be 10:00 a.m. on a Thursday, and probably 9:00 on Friday, then 8:00 on Saturday (but don't hold me to that, thats just generally been our offseason experience for DL opening). Goofy's should start serving breakfast around 7:00 a.m. so that leaves you plenty of opportunity to eat before heading to the parks.
