Pre-trip:
We are sooooo looking forward to this trip, we need some family time in a bad way!!! DH works right now out of NYC, we live in DE = 2 hour commute each way. We do not get to spend much time together on weekdays at all right now.
So before we leave I make a boat load of ps's for us and plan a shell outline of parks and activities for us to enjoy.
We had planned on DH working from home on Friday so I could start getting all the laundry done and the packing under way. Well of course that didn't go as planned and work needed DH in NYC. Turns out to be major problems and DH does not get home until 3:00 AM Saturday morning!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAHHHH! Luckily I do have a fair amount of packing under way and all the laundry done. I get this done by sticking DD in front of the t.v., something I hate to do, but it comes in handy when mommy REALLY needs to get things done. I let DH sleep until about 9:00 but by then I am busting at the seams with anticipation and I just have to get into the bedroom to finish the packing!!!!! I want to leave our house by 1:00 for our 4:05 flight and manage to get the rest of the packing done with plenty of time to spare. I even remembered everything this time!!
We arrive at the airport in 20 min. from our house and are stunned with NO LINES! I've never seen the Philly airport so empty and it was a Saturday! The only people who were in the airport were people going to WDW or so it seemed. We also had the friendliest Philly airport employees I've ever met today too. They asked b/4 we could even whip out our tickets, "You going to Disney?" Anyway, sorry to bore you with those details, but if you've ever flown to and from Philly you know they are usually not the happiest crowd, but they were this day!
So we land in Orlando right on time and pick up our rental from National and head to the World!!! Check in at OKW was a breeze. However I had requested to be near Hospitality House and they put us in the South Point area. The CM was sorry that request could not be fulfilled and told us she did get us near the SouthPoint bus stop, pool, and playgroud. And she did well! We were a very easy stroll from all three! We loved our one-bedroom villa at OKW right away! The lush vegetation and quiet surroundings were soooooooooo what we needed - but at that moment what we really needed was FOOD!!!!! The airline small pretzel bag and soda are not enough to get you through and even though I had other snacks such as Goldfish and crackers with us we needed a meal, we were sooo drained.
We rode up to check Olivia's out and got right in and met a friendly waitress named Bonnie who could tell we needed some quick refreshment. She brought drinks very quickly and also had DD's pizza come out early. We all had their wings which were spicy, but not too hot, very good. DH & I had soup and a club sandwich. We all started feeling better!
Went back to our villa to unpack and crash! good-night.
Tomorrow: MK, Extra Magic Hour Day!!!
