Minnie Vans will not take Swalphin and Swan Reserve to MK.

I arrived early last week and wanted to dry run a Minnie Van. I was able to take a Minnie Van from Swan to the Grand Floridian, I also saw several minivans dropping off Swan guests. I paid $42 for a $15 Uber trip but I felt comfortable using the app.

So imagine my surprise when twice I tried to order a Minnie Van to take me to the Magic Kingdom drop off and it diverted me to the Lyft which only drops off at TTC.

They don’t make it clear at all on the app that Swalphin and SR guests are blocked from the MK drop off. I wasted a good amount of time trying to figure out what was going on.

Sorry for your time waste, this discussion has popped up a couple times recently. Disney does state on the Minne Van page that they only service the Disney Resorts Hotel Collection which Swan, Dolphin & Reserve are not a part of. Some have used Fantasia Mini Golf when its open or Boardwalk as pick up or drop off points. Because of the dining options at Swan Dolphin I can only gather they are willing to drop off but just not pick up.

PP weren't able to use MV for a pick up or drop off at Swan Dolphin Reserve.

I like the Fantasia mini golf suggestion

I'd bet the parking lot guards at the Contemporary wouldn't hassle you if you showed up in a Minnie Van vs an Uber to get the jump on rope drop. ;)

ITA but the MV drivers are CM. The guard at the Contemporary probably won't care BUT I have my doubts if the driver will change your drop off from TTC to the Contemporary in route. We know MV are GPS tracked. I guess if the driver has a pick up at the Contemporary after your trip he might let you stay in the van

I tried a Minnie Van to AK and it was a no go.

The drop off for Uber was fine and I was able to easily walk to the entrance. Beth

No reason to - the Minnie Van is obviously not going to park. The concern is actually the parking at the resort, not accessing the MK from the resort. An Uber/Lyft looks exactly like any other guest's vehicle so therefore must show proof of reservation at the resort.

Ride share vehicles have a sign. The driver could show his app verifying a drop off. Disney doesn't want the Contemporary used as.a drop off. Probably congestion and traffic issues.

I don't disagree about congestion and traffic adding to the issue, but the fact remains that the rules have been put into place largely due to parking concerns. Just like a mobile order can be picked up or even ignored, a ride-share sign can easily be taken down and the driver goes off-duty, nobody's the wiser about that parked car. Minnie Vans are obviously not going to take a parking spot.

Rideshare vehicles are not required to display decals/signs in Orlando, except at the airport.

We've had to make dining reservations at both Contemporary and Boardwalk before for them to allow Uber drop-offs.
