Thanks! I’m still confused how I’m supposed to request one when whenever I “test” order a LYFT, it doesn’t offer me “right now”. For instance, it’s just after 6:30 am, and the next Lyft available is 7:30 am. I tested this at 10 pm last night, but nothing was available for Lyft until 10:45….so that meant I didn’t even have the option of ordering a MV.
Should I not try to order one until I’m outside the main building - as opposed to being in my room?
Thank you!
Okay, something is really off here.
I tried checking from home shortly after you posted yesterday, and I saw Minnie Vans available.
One thing that can throw you off is a cell phone setting.
If you have an iphone, go to SETTINGS, then PRIVACY & SECURITY.
Make sure Location Services is set to ON.
If it's set to OFF, tap on the toggle thingie to switch it to ON.
Next, when you tap on the Lyft app, it says WHERE ARE YOU GOING?
There is a drop-down menu next to that.
Mine is set to NOW.
If yours isn't, tap on the drop-down menu to switch to NOW.
Then tap in the box after WHERE ARE YOU GOING.
Now you have to set your start point.
Tap in the box where it says START CURRENT LOCATION
You can start typing Disney's Contemporary Resort
Options pop up underneath it
Tap on the best one
Now you have to set your destination.
You can type in Disney's Beach Club (just to choose a sample destination)
Options pop up underneath it
Tap on the best one
Tap on SET YOUR DROP-OFF
Tap on CONFIRM PICKUP
Your ride vehicle options will show up.
I'm doing this at 7:07 am and I see this list of vehicles:
Minnie Van
Lyft
Lyft XL
Preferred
Lux
Lux Black
Lux Black XL
Tap on the one you want
Then tap on SELECT... whatever it says on the bottom, I'm not going to tap it because I don't want the ride
Keep in mind:
a) You don't schedule a Minnie Van in advance.
It's possible to schedule a regular Lyft in advance, but most people don't.
If you try to schedule a time for the ride, Minnie Van won't show up as an option.
Generally, you use the app when you are ready to get in the vehicle.
With a regular Lyft ride (don't know about Minnie Vans), if the driver gets there and you aren't ready to get in the car, they can wait a few minutes, then take off. That leaves you with no ride and a cancellation fee.
b) Minnie Vans don't run 24 hours a day.
c) I don't know what you mean by this:
"It could also because my GPS isn’t set up for LYFT, but I’m not sure how to change that..."
You don't change your GPS.
(But to do a test run from home, you have to type in your pick up location. You can't tell it to just use your current location, or it will think you want a Lyft from your house to your Disney destination.)
