Minnie Breakfast at Plaza Inn...not good after 10?

I had read some reviews at Trip Advisor and a blog advising that the Minnie and Friends Breakfast at the Park is not a good experience after 10am because the characters interact much less and they rush you out for lunch. I have a reservation for this Sunday for me and two others at 10:40am, as it was the only time spot available even 3 weeks ago.

I have never done it before and even though this is a tight budget trip, this is the last trip for at least two years, so I was willing to stretch for this. But I really don't have the money to spare for a mediocre experience. So I was hoping people here could let me know if they had gone during this time?

I haven't told the kids so I could cancel without disappointing them.

Oh, gosh - that's exactly wrong. We've had the BEST character interactions with late breakfasts. As the restaurant starts to clear out, the characters interact more and more with the remaining diners. Last time we were there, Dale and Captain Hook fought over the affection of my DD8. It was phenomenal, and something we wouldn't have gotten if the restaurant had been full.

we went a few times early at park opening...

then once later in the morning and we were disappointed with the later morning.. not as many characters came to our table, and it just wasnt as fun..

if we go again i will make sure its first thing !!

We had a 10:30am reservation in August and the character interaction was great. My princess-loving girls even said after that they preferred this to Ariel's Grotto. Had to flag down a few characters to make sure they made it to our table (we were seated outside with only a few other parties nearby), but saw tons of characters for a nice long interaction.

I had a similar experience as Winnowil. I had a late morning reservation and I ended up in a character sandwich as Tigger tried to show up Pooh Bear when Chip decided he didn't want to be left out. There weren't that many people outside so we got some great interactions.

That said, I do think it can be a hit or miss and is very much a YMMV depending on how the stars chose to align that day. I do know if you miss anyone you want to see, you can request for them to come by your table before you leave.

If it were me, I'd just keep checking to see if a cancellation pops up for an earlier time, but I wouldn't sweat the late reservation.

Thank you everyone for your quick reply's!

I am going to keep the reservation, and hope for the best. I'll keep in mind that you can ask for the character to come by if you are missed,
both of mine adore Tigger which is what made me pick this experience.

I'm kind of timid asking for things, except when it comes to getting something for the kids :)

I'll keep looking for cancellations though. The app makes that very easy.

I always do late breakfasts at Disneyland so I can only buy 2 meals a day. This is the best character meal in the park in my opinion. Just keep an eye on which characters are there and don't be afraid to ask a cast member about any characters you may have missed.

We had 10:30 reservations a few weeks ago. We had 8 characters come by. Max and Rafiki each came by twice. We had five kids in our group and the interaction was superb.

Incidentally, I had to check back multiple times before getting a reservation, and that was the only opening for the day. Then, on the day of, they had plenty of open seating and would have taken our 7-person group as a walk-up.

If you happen to be there when they are clearing the restaurant in preparation for lunch (which happened to us once), all the characters form a group and hit all the tables together to make sure they didn't miss anyone (at least they did the time I was there). But I think 10:30 AM is fine in terms of meeting the characters, plenty of time.

We went in August and had a 10:30 ADR. We loved it! The food was still hot and plentiful and all of the characters were still circulating the tables. Some even came to our table twice. I think you'll be just fine. Enjoy!!

They try hard to get the characters to everyone. Just make sure you get all your food early. They switch over to lunch and close the buffet on time.

Thank you. That's a good tip. I'll make sure to do that since I'm sure the kids will be too excited.
