Minnie And Friends Character Breakfast

Is Minnie's breakfast a buffet or a menu? Just wondering, we did Goofy's and did not like it at all!! The food was fine but the character interaction was practically non-existant. We've done Ariel's, which is great but you don't get to chose anything but your drinks. LOL I was thinking of doing Minnie's next trip (we have a free hotel stay so we have extra money in our budget for a character meal or two) but am wondering about the menu.
Thanks!

Does anyone know what the earliest seating at Minnie's is when the park opens at 9?

I've heard some people mention that they will come get you from the gate if you have a PS before the park opens.

TIA!

I have heard that as well, but we've always just walked in a little later in the morning. You could call Disney Dining to find out the earliest seating.

We did Goofy's last year..it was ok. We did Minnies a few weeks ago and I liked it A LOT more!! There are some pics of our experience in my trip report. Link is below. I think the pics will be on either page 3 or 4 :)

I only like Goofy's for breakfast when we are staying at the DLH. I personally wouldn't want to hoof it to the DLH to make a very early seating for Goofy's in order to be at Park Opening. But then if I had a later seating at Goofy's I wouldn't want to have leave the Park and hike all the way to DLH for a late breakfast. The food is just OK for me at either (but I'm a bit of a food snob) - and so it's good enough to have a decent and filling breakfast but that's it and fine for us. I like the atmosphere of the Plaza Inn better because it's got history and outdoor seating and a more Disney feel IMO. Heck, it's inside the park at the Hub. Goofy's interior is sort of generic - decorated more like a conference room, IMO.

Also we've found the later seatings (after 10-ish) at Minnie's to actually be less crowded as folks have moved past breakfast and into the park.

The only thing I don't care for about Minnies is most of the characters have been the same. I'd love to see a princess or maybe more Mickey and Friends folks or other more movie-based characters. But luckily for me I have small children who adore Pooh. Eeyore is esp adorable.

Really now that I think on it, the characters being the same is only an issue for us because we go often. Poor us! :yay:

What is the latest seating for Minnie's? We loved Crystal Palace at WDW so betting the boys would enjoy this one too.

I answered my question and yours by going to the disneyland website:

The Character breakfast is open from Park opening until 11 a.m.

We've done every character meal at DL and WDW multiple times over the years.Minnie's is great, but the the last 2 times we went(6/07 and 8/06) the lines for each station were so long-I'm talking 15 minutes to get waffles or sausage and eggs. I couldn't see our table because it was so crowded;and it's hard to see if there is a character on the way! The food is good and recommend filling 2 plates so you don't have to wait in line again! Will we go again? Of course! Waiting for April to make June ressies! Have fun!

Does this mean that there are 11 o'clock reservations? What is the latest reservation if this is not what this means? (seriously, i confuse myself when i talk:)) TIA

I'm not sure actually. I would ask when you call to make your reservation. I'm going to call next week to get the earliest seating for May 22nd!

When I made reservations for Minnie's, I requested the last available seating. It was 10:40. I'm not sure if that's the last time they seat, or if that was just the last available for that day.

Either way, it was perfect. I didn't stand in line at any of the stations (although it was a Tuesday in late February, so the park wasn't too crowded), and the kids got a ton of time with each character as the restaurant cleared out.

I haven't eaten at Minnie's so I can't compare the two... but we did goofy's in October (7:30 am) and loved it... Met Goofy, Pluto, Chip & Dale, FGM, Mad Hatter, Geppeto... hmm I think there was someone else... can't remember now... Watched the kids (dd was not going to join in) do that pots and pans band thing in the kitchen, and loved the food... only reason that we aren't doing it this time, is we are staying at GCH and are going to try Chip & Dale's instead (we eat big breakfasts early, and like the early seatings... and don't want to hoof it anywhere at 7 am!)
