Yeah he worked hard, sometimes I felt he was too busy to have fun with us. But on the pirate night when they paraded around the room and did the conga he pulled me up and dragged me into the parade which was such great fun. Then when I kept bringing my Mini Mouse toy that i got for my neice to dinner he got the stuff toy a seat - which was great.

He certainly did his best and he knew the food and what to go for every night I trusted his judgement

Day 0 really started the Thursday 17th when I left work and headed to Gatwick. I slept (sort of) in the airport. It was a restless night and I really got little sleep but hay as I had to check in at 5 in the morning it was not worth getting a hotel. I had hoped that i might sleep through the flight as I hate flying - yes someone that loves travelling does not like to fly!

Actually the flight with easyjet was pretty good, it was a 2-3 hour flight and pretty easy and no hassle.

Landed early about 9:30 which was cool

I had no idea how to gte into town as I thought Disney Cruise Line was meant to be picking me up as I had a note from them saying that. Sigh so there I was in the middle of a foreign country that I did not speak the lingo - oh well I am pretty resourceful a very friendly bloke point me to the taxi rank and thankfully I had a map to my hotel so was able to tell the taxi driver where I went.

It was a pretty scary ride but sorta fun looking back at it the driver was mad and he had a strange nervous twitch that made him swerve to the side

But 25 euros later I got to the street of my hotel the Hotel Adagio its in the old medieval quarter near the docks so just a 10 minutes walk away from the bus stop directly to the ship.

the above image is my hotel it was a 3 star nothing special but i was only there 1 night and i was mostly out side anyway.

So i got to the hotel and my room was not ready til 2 pm so off i went into town. I have to admit i was worried I had heard so much about the trouble that tourist would get from the scammers. How wrong was I - really just be sensible and you WILL be fine. I loved Barcelona, I looked around during the day time it was grey and been raining thankfully the rain stayed off during the day time.

I loved the architecture it was really interesting, the people were so friendly and nice. I ended up having lunch on the steps of the cathedral that is still not finished. I found a great local bakery that had some great desserts, continueing shopping i found a catalonian sweet shop and spent about half an hour in there they were so friendly and interested in the people that were shopping there .. they gave us lots of free samples !! and showed us how they made the sweets.

I did go to the hard rock cafe to meet with fellow disers but could not see them, I was going to go see the musical water fountain sadly thats when it started to rain. Well more like someone threw a bucket of water over barcelona for the whole night. The storm that accompanied the rain was like biblical I was so worried this was like going to be the weather all the way across the atlantic

Anyway that drove me back to the room and I had no problem sleeping as I had no sleep in the airport the night before.

I woke early on the saturday excited about going to the ship, I got a decent continental breakfast and headed down to the bus.. and there was my first look at the disney magic...

I was a little confused by the process as no cast members seemed to help people about luggage. Some kind fellow guests clued me that I could leave my large luggage with the porters to be sent to my room.

Yeah that rain was amazing in Barcelona I guess we got all our rain in one day for the whole trip ... the weather and Disney Magic was with us on the way across the atlantic crossing

Probably don't remember me but I did meet you on our Tortola excursion (we - me, my DS and DIL) sat behind you on the bus trip around the island.

Sorry you didn't seem to find us at HRC. They probably should have had something to let late comers know that we were in a separate room downstairs!

So Saturday 18 September

Getting onto the ship

We went through the whole registering and getting our key to the cruise line world (effectively its our room key, a charge card and our ID throughout the ship). This was actually well organised it was fine.

So once through redistration we were in a holding room with several characters ... one was a very stange sailor guy that was not disney and it seemed you had to pay to do a meet and greet with him so i ignored him and went straight to mini mouse and Mickey

I have to say the room were we waited in was a bit boring .. and not very disney I guess its because this is not a permanent residence for the ship. Thankfully the wait was quick and we were called forward. Photographers were waiting for us.

As we walked onto the main entrance of the ship a cast member came over asked me for my name and then moved me on then a group of cast members who were lined up clapped me as a cast member announced my name and welcomed me on board. You can see a movie of others getting the same treatment

This was amazing really it made me feel so special as I rather overwhelmed by the whole thing as I walked through them a pretty young lady cast member walked over to me and told me where to get some lunch and my room would be ready later. It was awesome the true disney service began as soon as I walked on the ship.

So off I headed Parrot Cay was full so i went to top siders buffet which was great .. that became my favourate lunch time place.

As I walked around the ship I was surprised to find the characters were already out ..

The food was great and it was cool that the cast members were really helpful and friendly

I finally got to my room

Loved the room the funny thing is I never got a photo of my room attendant who introduced himself to me when I first arrived in my room he was great Leonardo - if your reading THANKS really you were great.

Any way we had our safety drill and then the cruise away party which was cool the video of that is too large to upload but it was a cool party.

One word of warning you can get drink packages for wine and beer.. i bought the beer one and they did last me to the end of the cruise and it was just brought to my room that day and some were put in my fridge my room host throughout the cruise kept me well stocked with ice. But what i did not understand you could buy your own off ship in port for half the price and drink it on ship. So top everyone buy it at your port of call like gibralatar if your going on the 14 day trip.

That night I met the people I was dining with and they were so great. Here is a picture of us later on in the cruise

We were also introduced to our Server Sudama , Asst Server Marista and our Head Server Ceodomir WOW they were great.

then we were whisked off to the night time show at the walt disney theatre to see the first show really the crew performers were AMAZING I really loved it the show was All aboard Let the Magic Begin and I really loved it.

So thats the first day

More to come I will not necessarily do a day by day blow the next is our first day at sea and our first port of call Gibralatar, check back in a few days!

Day 2 At Sea
Ok first day at sea - OH WOW this was my dream being at sea and I grew to love it.

I awoke about 8, I was worried as i had sent my tuxedo for pressing as it was formal night that night. It did not appear so I was a little worried. Anyway so off I go for breakfast I really quite fancied Lumieres a beautiful restaurant it was the main formal dinning place. Passing by it I really was not sure if I was allowed in or not - no really .. i know i was really stupid ... i love the idea of the brunch they were offering anyway I ended out at parrot cay. Which was great but I could not find what I wanted Pancakes. I know they did do them - hay it was my first day LOL!

I wondered around the ship just taking in the views and getting to know it .. i saw them doing the play house disney in the promenade lounge which was cool.

There were tons of characters out in the day this was awesome! the fab 5 donald, pluto, Daisy, mini mouse and mickey and chip and dale WOW this was like oh cool overdrive I had no idea that we would see the characters so often or even seeing them wandering around the ship as we did. COOOL!!

In the afternoon I went to the cinema and watched the prince of persia which i had not seen before HOW COOL IS IT THAT WE CAN WATCH A MOVIE ON SHIP!!!

Then was the captains gala and I was a little worried not everyone would be in their formals but nope it was fine .. everyone was dressed up and it was cool even the characters were in their formal wear.

At night there was a broad way style show - Twice Charmed by the crew entertainment - WOW it was brill loved it when the prince stood up for himself and told Lady Tremaine to be quiet !!! we all cheered at that.

Then came the adults only cabaret - Jimmy Tamley the Ventriloquist it was so funny really i was hurting after that!

Got to bed about 11 I was really happy that i did not seem to be feeling the ship movement - and my room host kep leaving some cool towel animals every night and turned my bed done and left Sweets for me COOL!!!

Day 3 Gibraltar

Ok first real day at port we got to Gibraltar fairly early and I got off ship after having breakfast at parrot cay still had not plucked up the courage to go to lumieres mind you not sure it was open that day.

I went into town I was desperate to do 2 things find Marks and spencers and find morrisons its not that i needed anything I just wanted to find them.

and headed back with some toilerties and a pair of trousers - really i am not sure why i bought the trousers but there you go .. i was on holiday and logic had nothing to do with it.

Got back and ate at top siders which was becoming my favourate place to have something to eat in the afternoon it had great views

was due to do a trip out with port adventures it seemed fairly well organised we all met in the given place and were put into groups via numbers and taken to coaches. I did the city under siege it was ok, we saw the museum - really it was not a great museum and seemed too small and a bit rushed.

We went to the cable car and waited around we finally went up - you know I was terrified of heights about 10 years ago i would not have gone up on the cable car ... how life and experience changes you

We got up the monkeys were there they were not so scary if you respected them we had heard they can be violent but actually they were pretty uninterested in us

you can see the Disney Magic in the back ground its a small island

we then went in the upper tunnels and saw the gun emplacements

there were monkeys there and they were a little more engergetic and got on the vehical and even jumped at people which was very funny thankfully none did it to me! phew !

They then took us to the far side of the island where we saw a light house and views of the sea

This is were it got a little worrying we were meant to be back at the ship for 5:45 the guide a gibralatian person thought it was 6:00 pm so we were running late even though we had a off duty cast member with us called jennifer who was really nice and friendly. The guide made a big joke about us being left behind

We did make it back but I think it was just a little too stressful given we were on a disney port adventures tour. I informed the port adventures and asked if we would have been left behind he assured me that we would not if we were on a port adventures tour.

So anyway I was soon distracted by characters which relaxed me!

Had a ball with the characters and was late for lunch which became a theme with everyone .. marista would tell me off for it LOL it was funny its was like being told off by mum for being late for lunch

I spent most of the night enjoying the meal and watched a bit of the beatles tribute band that was playing on the ship. Went to bed about 10 ish

Next day was another day at sea and truly heading into the atlantic heading to Madeira
