Sorry, I don't have pics! I don't even like to read reviews without pics unless they are vegetarian related, so hopefully this will help someone.
DD5, DD9, and I are vegetarian, and DH is non-veg as we call him. Our trip was the week of Nov. 29th. We had breakfast in our room, so, except for Chef Mickeys, there arent any breakfast reviews.
I noted on my online ADRs that we had vegetarians, but no one asked and I didnt offer the info except where noted (Le Cellier, 1900 PF, and Tusker House).
Day 1
Rosies at DHS Veggie burger. Ive read about the change of burger, and I wasnt a fan of this veggie burger. In the past, they were more burger-like. These are more veggie-like (you could see the broccoli and red pepper in the burger). Sometimes I like these, sometimes I dont. I didnt like this one. DD5 had mac and cheese, and DD9 had pizza from the place next door, Catalina Eddies.
Day 2
Biergarten Lunch. There are a lot of choices here - salads, bread, spaetzle, potatoes, carrots. It was good, and the service was great. This was our second time, and I would definitely go back. One assumes that there is just meat at a German restaurant, but this place will surprise you.
Day 3
Chef Mickey's Breakfast buffet. There are lots of vegetarian choices here. I know that everyone likes the vegetarian lasagna, but, while it has a good taste, it has too much cheese for me! The food wasnt great, but the service and characters are. I compare this place to 1900 PF a day later, and I really like CM better. It doesnt feel so chaotic.
Columbia Harbour House
I had the Lighthouse Sandwich, which I love. Ive had it once before, and it is still good. The bread was a little dry and the broccoli slaw was a little sweet, but I still like this.
Day 4
Pinocchios - Cheese pizza and a salad. I absolutely love pizza. I prefer really good pizza, but I dont mind average. Id eat pizza for every meal. I liked that this came with a salad, and there were a number of dressing choices, including a low cal option.
1900 PF
There were some veggie options. I asked about some of the Asian options did they have meat? One of them was made with a fish sauce, but the soy bean option was very good. It had a great flavor. The chef (or a chef, whoever was behind the counter) also offered (without asking) that one of the soups was vegan (tomato basil soup that was not tasty) and he could sauté some veggies for me if I liked. I wasnt a fan of this place in general (besides the characters), but I felt like there were some good veg options and the willingness to accommodate me.
Day 5
Tusker House Lunch.
This was my absolute favorite place. I dont usually stuff myself at buffets, but I did here. There were so many veg choices, and I couldnt get enough of the good stuff. Everything was very flavorful, not bland. I asked about the samosas, and they are veg. I also asked about the mashed potatoes (DD kept seeing potato skins and thought that it was bacon). I wasnt offered info. DD5 liked the build-your-own-PBJ and mac and cheese. DD9 is more adventurous she tried the hummus, chutneys (one was like a dessert with the dried fruit and nuts), roasted potatoes, and some of the pilafs.
After Tusker House, I didnt need dinner!
Day 6
ABC Commissary Asian salad. So, first of all, why cant they have some frozen veggie burgers when they offer regular burgers? How difficult is it to keep some frozen veggie burgers in the freezer and throw them in the microwave? But I digress I had the Asian salad because it was the only option, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was very good. Im not sure if they omitted the chicken or if it doesnt come with chicken ask to be sure. The CM offered the Asian salad as an option when I asked if they had a veggie burger. There isnt a veg option for kids, so I asked for cheeseburgers minus the meat. They didnt do this (I told the CM, but it wasnt noted on the receipt), so I sent it back and it was quickly corrected.
Yachtsman Steakhouse
I had the Potato and Leek Ravioli. It wasnt bad. It was on top of a red pepper puree, which was kind of an odd combination. The service was bad very rushed. I wouldnt go here again DH didnt like his steak, either (esp. compared to Le Cellier on the following night). It was not worth 2 TS credits even with the free dining. I do have to say that the kids puzzle dessert was great. In addition to the white chocolate Mickey puzzle, brownie, and mini cupcake, there were edible frosting paints that give your kids something to do after a long meal! DD5 was restless, but once she started painting her white chocolate puzzle, she was fine! I also liked that DH could get the cheese plate as his dessert on the DDP. DH is not a dessert fan (DDs and I usually order his and eat his), so it was nice for him to enjoy the cheese plate.
Day 7
Sunshine Seasons
This place was a bit frustrating. They wouldnt let me have a plate from the Asian station substituting tofu for the meat. They have tofu for a tofu soup dish (I didnt want soup), so there is a huge bowl of tofu sitting right there! The woman kind of laughed when I asked if I could sub with tofu. So, I had a veggie wrap sandwich it was good, but a little dry.
DD9 was frustrated with the pre-packaged kids meals. She wanted the PBJ and grapes, but not the apple juice and carrots. I dont know why they dont have everything just mix and match. At this point, she was just pretty frustrated with the kids meals in general. I am kind of surprised because I always thought that 9 years old was too young for the top end of kids meals it seems to be 12 many places. Shell be 10 in a couple of months, and she was sick of the kids meals. I imagine that it depends on the kid, because I think that DD5 will be happy with a kids meal when she is 9. DD9 has always been more adventurous with food.
Le Cellier
This was our third trip to Le Cellier, and even with a different veg entrée every time and a new chef this time, my entrée was great. This time, it was potato gnocchi, and it was delicious. They made grilled cheese for DDs with their Canadian cheddar and a brioche bread. It was good, too. I love this place the cast members are so accommodating. If this is how Canadians are, I need to visit Canada. In the summer.
Day 8
Pizzafari at AK Here we go with the pizza again. It seemed the same as Pinocchios, but I liked it. DD5 had mac and cheese, and I pieced together a meal for DD9 with my fruit parfait dessert, grapes, and a piece of pizza. She didnt want pizza, but she was still hungry.
In general, I think that the worst park for CS veg options DHS. It just seemed like there would be a veg option on the adult menu for me and no kid veg option or vice versa. I dont want to go to 2 CS places to feed my small family of four. We were at a place in the back, Studio Catering Company, and I thought that I was going to get the chicken Caesar wrap minus the chicken. I think that there were two veg options for kids (mac and cheese and PBJ). We didn't stay here because it is outdoor seating and the weather was rainy and cold, but it is just another place with the same problem.
AK isnt much better, but there just arent a lot of CS restaurants at AK. Why dont they have veg options at Yak and Yeti CS? That doesnt make any sense. And DH tried to get veg eggrolls at one of the kiosks, but they were out.
Buffets and TS restaurants are great with veg. There are so many veg options at the buffets. And at the non-buffet TS restaurants, while there arent many options, they will accommodate you if you ask.
I hope that my review help at least one vegetarian!
