We are thinking about playing mini-golf the first day we arrive (we will check in at 3 pm) followed by dinner at O'Hanas at 8 pm.

I need opinions on which course is better for two adults with no kids (and we just play mini-golf for fun, neither of us are golfers!)

Fantasia, Winter/Summerland, or Pirates Cove, or any others?

I want something unique and fun.

Thanks!

I've enjoyed both fantasia & winter (haven't layed summer). I guess winter is more interactive than fantasia, e.g. get the ball through the cooler to raise it's lid where as fantasia is much more of ageneral theme. Obviously winter is only good if you don't mind all things christmassy in the middle of summer!

I liked Fantasia the best as an adults course that was fun but not childish

thanks

We have played both Fantasia and Winter/Summerland. We go back to Winter/Summerland every trip, and we golf on both sides.

We think that the theming is more fun and the atmosphere a little more relaxing. We did like Fantasia, but felt it was more challenging and not as secluded. If you are a big Fantasia fan, the golf course would be just perfect for you. The W/S course has more of the Disney characters - like Goofy - and you get to hear the Beach Boys (so if you don't want to hear Beach Boys music you would want to avoid this one!).

Fantasia is right in front of the Swan/Dolphin area and more "out in the open". Whereas Winter/Summerland is more of an out-of-the-way spot, and you really seem to be in a private area.

Due to your time frame you may be taking a risk of missing your dinner ressies if you go to W/S cours. We have experienced some very unpredictable transportation times from W/S course.(That is if your using Disney Transportation)

If you are checking in at 3:00pm you should count on 30 minutes to an hour to get settled and refreshed before heading out to the course. Figure a couple of hours to play a leasurley game of mini golf and you could be looking at 6:00 to 7:00pm before you would finish your game. I would guess you would want to return to your room and freshen up before dinner.

Depending on what resort you are at, it could be a rushed first day to meet your goal for dinner.

I would recommend Fantasia Gardens(Especially if you are staying at an Epcot resort.) It is more centrally located and you will have more reliable Disney tranportation.

Thanks for the input. Hopefully I will get some more replies....
We will have our own rental car, and we are staying at Shades of Green. Does anyone know which one was closer? We don't have to be at dinner until about 7:45.

Thanks!

W/S is by blizzard beach--while the Fantasia themed is by the Swan/Dolphin--

I would definitely drive to play golf for an hour and then return to your room with time to spare to take Disney transport to the Poly--no driving to worry about.

Hubby is a Fantasia freak--so sans kids--that is the mini-golf we liked to play.

We've played both Fantasia and W/S. We found W/S more enjoyable due to the more 'interactive' nature.

That's what I was wondering about: the interactive nature of W/S and the uniqueness of Fantasia.

Anyone who has played one or both, give me your opinion!

And BTW, can't we walk to the Poly from SOG?

I have a one sided reply to this, we have only done Fantasia, but we really enjoyed it. It was very neat walking around and listening to Fantasia music. I can't attest to the interactiveness of W/S but there are some interactions at Fantasia. Fantasia seems more like an adult-with-no-kids golf course. It's also right next to the fairways mini-golf which is putt-putt on real grass!

Hi,

I've played both courses at Wintersummerland, Fantasia Gardens, Pirates Cove, Pirates Island, Hawaiin Rumble, Congo River Golf and others!

For theming and pure enjoyment we all love WinterSummerland - Disney Imagineering at it's best IMHO.

Don't foget that if you are a AP or PAP holder you'll get 50% discount on all Disney courses.

Sorry I haven't mastered all these acronyms yet!
AP means Annual Passes, right?

What's PAP?

Kim,

Sorry about that - PAP = Premium Annual Pass
