I need some help. Dh and I want to go away for a long weekend probably the second weekend in March (Thurs-Sat or Sun) and we can't decide where to go. At first we thought about a weekend in Downtown Atlanta (zoo, aquarium, WoC), then I got a code for a favorite resort in Destin, FL, we have been wanting to go back to Savannah, GA (I can't right now, too many memories of mom to enjoy it), Dh has been after me to go to Biloxi, MS, I thought about New Orleans. I can't decide and he wants me to make the decision.

This is the reason we only go to WDW and then I can't decide which resort to stay in. Can't win for losing :confused3

Please help up here, I need to book something soon and request time off work (I have time I will lose if I don't use it) I don't know where to stay in most of these cities (New Orleans, Biloxi) because I have never been there.

We don't have children, don't like cheesy notel/motels, but don't want to spend our life savings on a room, a decent deluxe would be nice. This is sort of a make up birthday trip for hubby, we missed his on his birthday, because my mom passed away.

Go to tripadvisor.com and look for hotels in the cities. You can search them based on price. You will be able to see reviews from other travelers who have said at that resort. I never ever book a hotel without checking trip advisor first. I just recently used it to find a great B&B in Key West for my parents. I also vote for New Orleans. We've been there and it is a beautiful city.

Thanks I will check out tripadvisor. Now, Dh has thrown in Chattanooga, TN.

Please help, I am losing my mind :scared1:

How about The Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi? They not only have the usual gambling but great dining options, shows, and of course places to shop.

Chattanooga is great for kids. I am not as sure about adults??
Maybe someone will chime in. It has a great aquarium and there is a civil war battlefield close by.

Do you like to shop and eat out? or see museums and history type stuff?

Chattanooga, TN. is wonderful for kids or adults.
I would look at staying on Lookout mountain for just the two of you.

Thank you for the ideas. I think we will probably end up in Chattanooga. I don't really want to go much more than 3 hours away since we will only have 3 days.

DVC Sadie, I will keep the Beau Rivage in mind, because we will probably venture over to Biloxi someday, when we have more time.

ilovejack02, I am trying to decide between the Chanticleer and the Stonefort Inn in downtown Chattanooga, if we choose Chattanooga.

clarabelle, we don't have children, so that isn't an issue. I like things like probably Lookout Mtn, trails, and such. Not much for museums, possibly the aquarium. I do love to shop, but may try to avoid that on this trip.

Keep the ideas and info coming

Come to Asheville NC!

The Biltmore Estate, the NC Arboretum, great shopping, wonderful restaurants, The Blue Ridge Parkway, Chimney Rock.......

I could go on and on.
