Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Morning all!

I had some catching up to do...it's been one crazy week.

The new queue for HM looks great!

WOW! I'm sure the girls really enjoyed riding the carousel 3 times in a row. :goodvibes

Very cool that you met up with PUSH! I will be on the lookout to see him.:thumbsup2

We got some sad news the other night about my aunt who is very, very sick and not going to get better.:sad2:

I have been battling some kind of flu bug for the last coulple days....I have slept alot.

I had booked off today and tomorrow to go on a mini shopping trip to the States but I cancelled it.
I should be at my beloved Disney Store right now, instead of here in bed feeling blah.
Lexi is dissapointed, she was looking forward to swimming and a trip to TOYSRUS. She is on a mission to find a Monster High backpack and doll that is only out in the US.
If I'm up to it I will go tomorrow but not stay over.

I just noticed the Candlelight Processional dinner pkgs came out.
I'm trying to decide which one to book.
There are 3 showtimes and I can't decide on the restaurant
I read that the last showing is better cause it's dark....any thoughts?

You'll see when you go. There is a whole new section of Fantasyland opening up. It's going to be huge! There will be a Beast's castle and a new restaurant and Princess character meets in their own areas. There will be a Little Mermaid ride, and Dumbo is being doubled. Toontown had been taken down, and it is being reconfigured as Storybook Circus. Lots and lots of new stuff coming! :dance3:

I can't wait to see it all. Kelli will be so excited about the Little Mermaid ride. I'll try to get some pictures when we're there next month so you can see how they've progressed since you were there.

I also can't wait to see the changes at Haunted Mansion (one of my most favorites) and to look for the ring. If we find it, we'll try to get pictures there too.

Your report is getting me so excited. I can't believe we're really getting to go this time. :cool1:

Cool! This is my stroller....

198180_1888963421852_1174442792_32360067_109733_n.jpg

(and my baby....). So keep an eye out for me too!

Got it. Happy baby!! My baby is 3 now but at WDW always in a stroller if I can keep him there.lol They do put us in the back with the walkers but after it starts you go wherever you can. I have done one princess 5k with the stroller when he was almost 1. Excited to meet more Disers! We have CM ressies for breakfast after and then hitting MK for the anniversary. Hope we all can meet at some time.

this thread moves fast, but then again I haven't been on since the 8th. I'll be back later to catch up and here all about your July adventures.

Thanks, MeMom! It's nothing serious, just some "female issues" I've been dealing with & now I'm trying to fix it if I can. It concerns me a bit, because its probable that I'll find out I can't have babies. :( That makes me upset but I'm trying not to worry on the "what if" and not fester about it.

Hello:wave2: Just about finding the time to check in on your report. Lovely photos as usual. The trash can ones are the best. The girls look a mixture of confused and amused whilst checking it out. Been busy all week. First week of English school hols. We had to phone for an ambulance on Tuesday for my sister. She is ill in hospital with menengitis. She had a lumbar puncture procedure a couple of hours ago, and we are just waiting for the results to come through. Checking in on Disney reports helps me keep my mind off it for a while though.

The KTTW tour is great if you can find the time and the money to do it. We did it back in 2006 pre-kids and I just loved soaking up all those little stories, insights, etc. Learning about the parks was a bit of an inspiration!
In the meantime try 'The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World' by Susan Veness. I'm reading it at the moment and am looking forward to pointing out what's behind the magic to my parents when they visit for the first time with us in August . A lot of what's in that book reminded me of things we were told on our tour and I'd forgotten.

By the way, on the KTTW tour we learned about the backstory to the HM bride's ring (so I'm pleased to hear we can search for a new one!) and also about the trash cans (and I recall something like 30 steps between each so it looks like we're all along the same lines!)

Glad the Disboards are a useful distraction, will be thinking of you

I love watching the reactions of people who have never seen "Push" before! Bella's face is hilarious! And I love the girls' picture with Mary Poppins! You certainly were having a Jolly Holiday!:goodvibes And I love seeing that new HM queue! I can't wait to see it in person!

Oh we all need to get together for a meet. :goodvibes:goodvibes.

Me too! Me too! However, I'll be over at MK while you all do the 5K! I don't run unless I'm being chased! But I'll be there from Sept. 23 to Oct. 2.

Speaking of Sept. Dis meets, are we still on for OCt. 1 at the Plaza? :goodvibes Not long now! I'm sorry to hear about your Aunt. By the way, I think I caught your flu-bug...when I woke up this morning I was very glad it was my day off! Otherwise all you would have heard from me at work were sniffles as I tried to sell fine jewellery!

Make that happen, Pat. ::yes::
I look forward to seeing even more progress across the lake in October! :cool1:

I will do what I can.::yes::

He's still in DL Jackie - you may need to take a trip out west :thumbsup2

I was going to say the same thing! That is my justification for making that trip someday!! :goodvibes

If I have time I may need to scroll back and "collect" everyone who is going to be there around the 1st.

I found this on the Diseny secrets websites

•On the ‘Keys to the Kingdom’ tour, it is mentioned that in WDW no trash bin will ever be more than 30 steps away from you. It is said that Walt Disney visited other parks when he was designing the Disney parks and counted how long a person would hold onto a piece of trash before dropping it on the ground. He came up with 30 steps.

Well darn it. I am booked at Sports too but if all goes well I will be changing that reservation to another resort on property. :goodvibes I hope we can all cross paths at the 5K or at least sometime while we are all there.

Add me to the list as well for the 5k. We are at Kidani.

Thanks Stace! I feel so sad for my Gramma since she already lost my Uncle this year suddenly and now this.
My DMom is trying to get a flight to go visit my Gramma (she lives way up in northern Ontario) just to make sure she is going to be okay after she gets the news.

Of course we are still meeting up! The Plaza it is. :thumbsup2

I was just thinking that the days are going by so fast that it should be here in no time! Very excitting!
I just want it to get here! I need a vacation! :goodvibes

Sorry you got the flu too...get well soon.

The last ring at HM was supposedly just a spot where an old gate post had been taken up, but people made it into the bride's ring story. This time, it really is a real ring purposely going along with that storyline. Somebody (maybe DreamIt*DoIt?) has a picture of it. It's in the concrete, though. It is nor removable.

Nope, sorry, not me. I actually first heard about it here not too long ago, and I think someone does have a picture, but I can't remember who it is either. :confused3 Would you believe we went to WDW in May and rode HM and didn't go through the new queue? :sad2: I know...I KNOW...bad DISser. :guilty: But we were with friends and I wasn't sure they'd be too interested in it, so I mentioned it as we were walking past it, but everyone just kept walking...oh, well, next time! :thumbsup2

Yes, I am perplexed as to why Mr. Toad had to be replaced; I still don't understand the reasoning. ;):lmao:

Maybe he will rise again someday!

Omigosh, that little princess hugging Push just made me tear up. Well, first, I laughed my coffee onto my chin. Then I got misty about all that is so special and magical about Walt's world.

Such a nice pic of all your favorite girls with Mary P. Bella seems just fine with being so close to a character as long as Mom's right there. What a sweet look on her face.

Thanks for all the pix of the HM queue! I love the detail you capture, and it was great to see John thoroughly enjoying himself, too. So excited to see it soon. Hoping I can spot the ring, and maybe even the hidden Donald. (Thanks, Jen, for mentioning.)

Although it's exciting to prepare for the new school year, I'm glad you're keeping some last days of summer vacation to yourself. And, if you really want to go, I'll bet you could easily find a volunteer or two -- or seventeen! -- to help you celebrate your birthday at the World. ;)

Bella is fine as long as Jill is holding her in the character pictures. Jill would just rather the pictures be of the characters with the girls only. We'll get there slowly, but surely. Bella will eventually understand that no one is going to hurt her.

When you find the ring, backtrack and shoot a few pictures that help lead us right to it. Apparently I don't follow directions very well, because whoever told me said that it was where the two queues met and over by the wall, I think, and I didn't see it.

He's still in DL Jackie - you may need to take a trip out west :thumbsup2

Yep, that is the trip she needs to be planning! :cool1:

Sorry you have been sick. Don't push yourself. Just wait until you feel good enough to make your trip and really enjoy it. Our thoughts and prayers for comfort are with your aunt and the family as you go through this difficult time.

The music of CP is beautiful no matter what time of day. Maybe the setting feels more Christmasy in the dark, but I've never seen it and even thought of how light or dark it was, because I was so focused on the show. I sort of zone in on things at Disney World, though, and don't let little things around me really bother me.

What restaurant are you leaning toward?

I can't wait to see it all. Kelli will be so excited about the Little Mermaid ride. I'll try to get some pictures when we're there next month so you can see how they've progressed since you were there.

We'd love to see pictures of the progress! :thumbsup2

I'll be glad to have a step by step guide to finding the ring. Maybe Brooklynn and I can find it in October.

You really are getting to go - and for a long time!!! :cool1:

Got it. Happy baby!! My baby is 3 now but at WDW always in a stroller if I can keep him there.lol They do put us in the back with the walkers but after it starts you go wherever you can. Disney walking is not the same as normal walking. Even big kids appreciate a ride. ::yes::

How are your classes going?

Well, I hope they fix you up. :thumbsup2 If not, adoption is always a beautiful way to build a family. I know two families - a brother and sister and their families - who have adopted recently/are in the process of adopting. The brother had three girls, and he adopted two boys. The sister has three kids (a girl and two boys), and they are adding two sisters. There are a lot of precious kids who need forever families. :lovestruc

Seems like we have a lot of sickness and loss going on among our group right now. It's a good reminder that we have each other to support and encourage through the tough times, not only just sharing our joy of our Disney fun. It also reminds us to treasure every good and 'normal' day with those we love.

The KTTW tour is great if you can find the time and the money to do it. We did it back in 2006 pre-kids and I just loved soaking up all those little stories, insights, etc. Learning about the parks was a bit of an inspiration!

There's so much to know about Disney things! There are so many, many details and backstories - it's just amazing.

The first tour Jill and I really, really want to do is the Wild Africa Trek. ::yes:: Sure hope it stays going until we can get the chance to do it.

I love watching the reactions of people who have never seen "Push" before! Bella's face is hilarious! And I love the girls' picture with Mary Poppins! You certainly were having a Jolly Holiday!:goodvibes And I love seeing that new HM queue! I can't wait to see it in person!

You could be a DIS cheerleader for the race. :cheer2:

Hope you feel better very quickly. :flower3:

This picture is funny too  So cute!

It does capture the experience pretty nicely. The girls' faces pretty much show what they were thinking.

I will do what I can.::yes::

I am glad you found that. I know I read about Walt observing how people would go before dropping trash, and then he set up his system to cover that.

I hope you guys can have a fun meet. It doesn't have to be long - just as we all met for that Small World ride. It was just a quick meet, ride, and move on. It's fun to put faces to names, and it makes it nice to really know the people you are conversing with when you come back to the boards. :goodvibes

Add me to the list as well for the 5k. We are at Kidani.

I am so sorry we will miss seeing you and the girls, Mary. We needed to change our dates, but it was not without hesitation, and we were going to get to meet so many DIS friends with the original plans.

:rotfl2:...I won't be running either. Unless it's to an ADR that I'm late for!

Sorry you got the flu too...get well soon.

Yay for concrete plans to meet!

I need a vacation, too, and I haven't even started school. I am already counting down the weeks until I am back on a plane heading south. ;)

I can't remember who, then. It's okay, as I have other people on the track now. They are going to give me a map by way of pictures so that I can find it. If not in October with the little girls, maybe Jill can help in December. :thumbsup2

Jill wanted to spend some time shopping, so we headed to the front of the park.

Past the Liberty Bell.

To the hub, where a parade was going on.

disneysummmmer188.jpg

I stopped here to get some of the cool park mugs for some special friends.

disneysummmmer189.jpg

It took me a few minutes to get them, as I was behind a large crowd of Brazilian tour group kids. Some of them were having a little difficulty communicating with the Asian CM. Some of the kids that were not in line kept coming up and giving their money and their orders to kids who were in line. It made the wait a little longer than I wanted, but I really wanted the mugs, so I stayed and just enjoyed people watching.

Here are some things to choose from at this kiosk.

disneysummmmer190.jpg

I finally made it to The Emporium, where the gang was happy to have the cold drinks that came in the special cups. :)

Aren't they cute???

A little shopping.

Here is the information for some of these bags that I did see, but I'm not sure I ever found the one that some people were looking for. I think I have seen another one that was something sort of in between these, but I could be imagining.

The CM's were dancing...

disneysummmmer213.jpg

although none of them can compare to our favorite CM who just goes nuts with her dancing. We love it when she is there, because she is entertainment just by herself.

You have more patience than me, MeMom. I would have been an antsy mess waiting on all those kids to finish their orders!

I found a video of our dancing friend.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXlsRnXYyqA&feature=related

If you ever get to see her getting into her job, she'll make you smile. :cool1:

You have more patience than me, MeMom. I would have been an antsy mess waiting on all those kids to finish their orders!

I'm pretty patient, for the most part. I just enjoyed the music and enjoyed watching the kids interact. I suppose if I had been in a big hurry, I might have stepped out of line and waited until later, but I knew my gang was involved with shopping, so they weren't waiting on me or anything.

I love that I get to go shopping with you on a Friday morning at my desk! Starts the day off right!
I would love to see that CM, she seems like a lot of fun! I would love to be a CM!!
