My friends and I were just discussions weddings and vow renewals, which lead us to destination weddings and renewals, which of course lead me to Disney ;)

According to http://www.disneyweddings.go.com/site/vow/cus/vow_guide/couple.jsp the min. price for a vow renewal at WDW is $10 000? Can this be true? I admit, I still haven´t had time to read the entire site but can´t help but wonder whether a vow renewal, with only 5 guests can´t be done cheaper.

It can be done for cheaper...that price is when you have over 18guests

We were quoted for $3500 for JUST a five-minute ceremony at Sunset Pointe, in which we would be allowed 10 guests, AND they would put out chairs for them!!! ;) No food, no drinks, no nothing. (I think they DID tell us we would get a Mickey and Minnie cake topper...)

We spent $2000 on our hometown wedding with 25 people, and ate and had an open bar.

The remaining $1500 went towards our AWESOME 5-day Disneymoon!

I would have loved a Disney wedding, but not for that price. I just couldn't do it. :sad1:

You should pop over to the Weddings board :) An escape wedding starts at $5400 and accomodates up to 18 people (except at 2 locations). It includes your cake and a champagne toast. The ceremony can definitely be longer than 5 minutes.

Wishes weddigns start at $12,000 but that can include everything. Much lower than the national average...plus it's at DISNEY:cool1:

Also, there are lots of ways to have a vow renewal and save money. A lot of people have a ceremony at the Swan/Dolphin or Shades of Green for much less money.
I personally felt that the money we spent on our Disney Wedding was worth every cent. If we had done at wedding at home (NJ/NY area) we would have had to have nearly 300 guests and it would have been a wedding for my mother, not for me... By doing it at Disney we were able to have a (much cheaper) wedding for 100 people complete with fireworks.

Edited to add: The escape package also includes the bride's bouquet, the groom's bout, a small photography package, a violinist and a limo. (Along with everything Mandy mentioned) So you do get a lot for your money

$10,000 for a vow renewal?? I spent less then that on my wedding.

Thanks for the info :)

We´re not doing a vow renewal in the immediate future, but who knows what might happen in a few year. It´s nothing we´ve ever dicussed and around here it is not something people usually do. I don´t know anyone who has ever done a vow renewal, nor do the girlfriends I was discussing this with.

I just think it´s an interesting idea and I was curious to know how this is at WDW :)

I think Chip & Dale do a "re-hitchin'" ceremony at Garden Grill :thumbsup2

$10,000.00...wow:scared1:...I don't like anyone that much.

Could explain my divorce, come to think of it.:rotfl:
