I posted earlier about Character Meals (thanks to all who posted a reply as I have taken many notes!)

Where though is Mimi's Kitchen? Is it the place next to HoJo's and does anyone have a say about the dinning experience there?
Can I call ahead and make reservations?

So for it appears Goffy's Kitchen is in the lead with a lunch buffet and then maybe a breakfast at the Plaza Inn.

For the Plaza Inn where do I get tickets or make reservations?

Thanks
Diana

That's Mimi's Cafe, and I would definitely recommend it. http://www.mimiscafe.com

I don't think you'd need reservations. It's not a "French restaurant", more like an upscale coffee shop with a French theme. I heard somewhere that the chain originated in Anaheim, which makes me think the Euclid-north-of-La-Palma location is the original location, but I can't say for sure. The location next to HoJo's (and visible from the Monorail) is the former site of the Acapulco Mexican restaurant that a lot of people might remember.

For PS's for any DL/DCA restaurant that takes them the number is 714-781-3463. You definetely want PS's (Priority seating) for the Plaza Inn breakfast (I did that last Thursday with my nephew and it was fun) and for any meal at Goofy's Kitchen.

I checked out that web site and it looks like a neat place to eat at lunch or breakfast!! Thanks for posting. I have been looking for places since this is our first time to DL. So far, it's Goofy's Kitchen, Blue Bayou, Aerial's Grotto and Rain Forest. We aren't really into breakfast because of the time it takes in the morning when the parks aren't as crowded.

Sorry for posting twice!! I tried to delete it and it wouldn't let me!!??!!

Don't know about the other details, but Mimi's is one of our favorite places to eat. Nice enough to feel better than IHOP, relaxed enough to be comfortable with children. Absolutely no rush to get through your meal. Friendly servers. Best of all, great menu; I love their omelettes, the quiche, the pot pie, the turkey salad (great as a sandwich on raisin bread), the pot roast...the list goes on.

This isn't related at all to Mimi's, but I have to tell this story:

Years (and years and years) ago we stayed at the Howard Johnson's - my mother and myself, my aunt and her husband, and my grandmother. My grandmother had ordered a quick bite from room service (which I think is now provided by Mimi's, so there's the tie-in) along with a drink. A screwdriver.

I think it was a particularly strong screwdriver.

About halfway through she noticed that the cup had HoJo printed on the side of it. She then decided to proclaim, with much authority, that it was Spanish, and was pronounced hoho.

Now every time I see HoJo, I think of that and smile.

We've been back to the HoJo several times since, it's still one of my favourite places to stay.

Cute story Amberle:D
Mimi's is good. I ate there years ago and was not impressed but have gone back recently and thought it was wonderful. Have a great time whatever you choose!

I also highly recommend the Plaza Inn for a character breakfast. Like you we don't like to waste time on breakfast when the parks aren't crowded. However, they seat a half hour before the parks open (if I remember correctly) and they get you in and out of there in a hurry. Also, they serve until 11:00 so with the park opening at 8:00 you can do a later breakfast and by then the park is beginning to fill up. The pooh characters really intereact a lot and since I have never seen any of them at Goofy's, its about the only way to dine with them. I also love Goofy's. Ariel's is nice, we like to sit outside in the evening for dinner and then head to the electrical parade. Have fun!
