I heard that they were transforming it into a "Winter Wonderland" and have done a quick search and found this article :-

"The Millennium Dome is set to reopen - but only for Christmas. It will host a winter wonderland extravaganza including theme park-style rides and the largest temporary ice rink in the country. The dome, which will be open from December 6 until New Year's Eve, will also feature a traditional German Christmas market, Santa's workshop, and the latest animated films and cartoons."

"Theme-park style rides" ?? (Sounds like the type of 'overkill' that was spouted about the Dome in it's original form, but then I may be wrong. hope so!)

I must admit, I'm curious. Anyone else heard anything or tempted to go?

Not heard anything about this - but I'd be tempted to go along with the girls I think. It could be fun!

I'd be tempted - I always meant to go, but somehow never got around to it.

oooooh how lovely! I went for my birthday just before they closed (23rd Dec) and it was very Christmassy! Hope thats true then!:)

I saw an interview with the man organising this on television last night. It sounded like it could be fun. We visited the dome twice when it was open and as we live so close I'd like to go to this too.

I visited the dome twice and thought it was outtstanding and will never understand why it recived so much hatred:(

This sounds lovely Shirley and I would definitely go.Would someone post if they have a number I coukld call or any idea how to get tickets please?

We're in London New Years Eve so I too would be interested to know how you book, more details etc. if anyone knows more about this.

Mind you, our itinerary is already jam-packed as I've just booked tickets to see The Snowman at the Peacock Theatre (as well as Lion King on New Years Eve!) so we might struggle to fit anything else in. :D

You can buy tickets on Ticketmaster -
http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/cgi/a...s.asp?vaxname=uk1&venuenum=1043&affliate=Z035

The rides include -
"The park includes a (very big) ferris wheel, log flume and a fantastic new inverted rollercoaster. The Tsunami, drops, loops and twists at speeds of 55mph. Other children’s favourites include a super-sized carousel and a space train ride."
...sounds interesting! Reminds me of Circus Circus in Las Vegas! Lots of theme park rides in a big tent/dome.

There's also a santa's workshop grotto where you can meet Santa and get a gift.

We're taking DS & DD some time in December :) as we had to cancel our trip to New England for Christmas. :(

Richard. :)

Thanks for the link Libby - I searched myself and didn't find anything so you did well! :D

I just went into Ticketmaster and they don't have any tickets beyond Dec 30th, even though the website mentions New Years Eve, wonder why?

We would be over-stretching ourselves I think anyway, so not too bothered, but it does look worth a visit if you can manage to get there.

Thanks Libby and Richard:teeth: I searched for ages and couldn't find a single thing on all the internet searches:(

I even did a search on Ticketmaster,I wonder if the tickets have just gone on there or I couldn't find them:eek:

The official site looks great but if you click on any of the headings like tickets, attractions etc. nothing happens:earseek:

The site seems to work for me, although it's not very spectacular compared to the opening page.

The ticket info gives prices and then directs you to ticketmaster.

For the attractions the info panel on the right of the screen changes.

I have bought tickets for entry to the Dome and ice-skating for Sunday December 28th.I'll give them to Mattie as an extra Xmas present:p

Thanks for letting me know about this:hyper:
