Military tickets

As I understand, military tickets expire at the end of the year? Is there any way to extend them through the new year? They were bought and paid for this year, but had to reschedule a September trip to January.

Where did you purchase them? There have been a few people who have posted that they called SoG (originally purchased there) and were able to get them switched to the next year's tickets. I have one but we are headed there in December. It is blacked out during part of our visit, but I plan to upgrade it to an AP instead of trying to get it moved to next year's ticket.

Disney MIGHT let you apply the cost of the tickets to the newer tickets if you pay the difference at the gate, but I don't know for sure if they will do that, since the tickets clearly state that they expire on December 19. I would write to Disney and see if you can get an answer from them. They do sell these tickets directly, but the cost is slightly higher since they charge sales tax for them.

We are heading to Disney in December 2019. Does anyone know if you activate your military tickets before the black out dates can you use them during black out dates? For example, if the black out dates start December 19 and you want to go December 14, 15, 17, 18 and 19th?

No. They will expire at the end of the 18th.

This is our situation this year, which is why I decided to upgrade to an AP since we have another trip planned next year.

Have you asked if there are any options at the base?

At our base, all sales are final and non refundable, so not sure if the base will be of any help. This is kinda one of those situations that travel insurance covers.
