military salute tickets

I was wondering if there was a change on policy recently.

So our last trip was just last month but on the the salute ticket holders was my husband who serves.....

We want to go this fall but he is considering getting an AP ticket. I already have an AP ticket. His mom would be joining us. For some reason I thought that were was a slight change that 1 ticket of the party had to be used by a service member/spouse.

Can we still use a salute ticket for his mom if both of us are AP holders?

One of the six tickets that he is allowed to purchase must be for him. Basically, he can buy five tickets for other people and just leave the sixth ticket unpurchased. I have an annual pass so I also don’t need a salute ticket—but I have purchased them for family.

Does anyone know if you have a 2018 ticket and can't use it if there's any way to transfer the value to a 2019 ticket, or do you just lose the ticket at the end of the 2018 timeframe?

That's what I figured. My DH couldn't come on our trip this spring so we still have an extra ticket.

Not true—I had bought a ticket for my adult daughter for this past December and, due to her work, she couldn’t come. I contacted SOG and they allowed me to pay the cost difference to make it a 2018 Salute ticket for a January trip. Sure enough, she used it in Jan no problem. You’ll have to wait until later this year to do this.

That must be a perk specific to Shades. Disney won't let you do that at their ticket booths.
