Military Salute Tickets ??

I'm pretty sure I've read we can, but would hate to get there and find we can't, so I'm asking just for comfort sake.

Please tell me we CAN buy the military Salute tickets at the Disneyland ticket booth. We are driving in from Arizona and are hoping to pick them up the night we arrive before using them the next day. Will we be able to activate them when we purchase or will we need to wait until the next morning when we actually enter the park?

Unless something has changed, you can certainly buy the military salute tickets at the DL or CA ticket booths and activate them right away. The only difference then buying them from a MWR / ITT on base or post is that you will pay tax on them when purchasing at Disney.

Our ITT ticket price listing actually shows a price of $120 if purchased on base, $129+tax if purchased at DL - I might mention it to them next time I am there

The last couple times we've been out I've had my military ID but this next time my wife may be going ahead first. Is she able to purchase them using her dependant ID? Also, I see that a military member can purchase up to 6 tickets, can she purchase 6 with her ID and I purchase 1-6 with mine?

Purchase Details

Disney Military Promotional 3-Day Park Hopper tickets valid at Disneyland Resort may be purchased at participating U.S. military sales outlets by any eligible U.S. military personnel or their spouse, from September 29, 2013 through September 25, 2014.

Eligible military personnel are active or retired members of the U.S. military, including the National Guard, Reservists and the U.S. Coast Guard. Valid and active U.S. Military (or Military spouse) ID required for purchase and admission.

No more than six (6) Disney Military Promotional Tickets per valid ID may be purchased by any eligible Service Member or spouse (regardless of the place of purchase and whether purchased by that person or that person's spouse). Military member (or spouse) must accompany the persons using these tickets for theme park admission

As a spouse of a member who is often deployed, I have been able to purchase and activate the military salute tickets without any problem.

You can actually purchase as many as you would like, they will happily take your money. However, you are only allowed to ACTIVATE 6 tickets per eligible member ~ your wife can use her ID to purchase and activate the tickets but the activation is placed under your information as the sponsor. Once there are 6 tickets under your information, no other tickets can be activated. Does that make sense?

The only exception to this rule is if you can show proof of having an immediate family with more than 6 members.

You would only be able to USE 6 at all. The other 2 would be purchased and go into your scrapbook, unused, unless you have more than 4 of your own children going with you. Sorry about that.

Correct ~ you are only able to activate a total of 6 per promotional period. You are also eligible to purchase and activate 6 tickets for WDW. We learned this a few years ago, it doesn't have to be one park or the other

So when (if) there are Military Salute tickets offered in 2015 you will once again be eligible to purchase and activate more. Probably 6 more, but it could always change.
