I got a great Military deal last year. It seems I recall one in 2004 too.DO they do this once a year or so? I know about SOG,I'm just wondering about regular Disney resorts room only codes.. I wonder if they will offer one later this year

We just went to WDW the 3-7 of Jan. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside using a military discount code for a room only rate. Instead of the usual $139, it was $109. Not for sure when the rate ended. You could call and just ask if they were still running that special military rate! Hope this helps. Tink

P.S. Did you go after Sept. 11th, when they gave out free 5 day passes to the military member and the dependents were only $99? That was great!! A very nice thing for Disney to do!!

According to the Leisure Travel on my base the above offer expires Feb 15. I called and asked about this summer and she told me to check back at the end of Feb or early March.

Last year I got a room at AKL for $130/night in mid August. This was a standard room but got upgraded to a Savannah room so I really save some $$$. I am hoping to get a similar rate for June. When are you looking to go? Good luck getting a rate. ºoº

Probably Oct..I got a nice military rate of around 200$ a night for the POLY/BC last August

Are military rates for active military only, or can retired military also use it?

I'm retired and was able to use it

Wow! you have done very well! Our local (2) MWR's have NO clue about WDW. And they don't care. They have told me that they might not "bother" to carry WDW tickets 'cause it was to much hassel for them. One was the Charleston AF base MWR and the other was Char. Navy base...
Very disapointing. And they have no idea about any discounts, won't check and said to call SOG. I have lived here for over 12 years + now and it has only been the last 2-3 years that they got this attitude...
And yes, I know that the Military has "more important" matters( the MWR words, not mine!), to worry about. I personall think that it is very, very important that military personal , active esp. if deployed, get family time in. So if the military member wants info on WDW then it should be important to the MWR to supply that info!
Sorry for the rant! But after 45 years of being a military brat and wife I get tired when some of the hardest working people in the world get disregard from a service that should help them.
And sorry it got off topic....Best of luck to you getting a discount! You worked hard for it, as your sig. shows! Thanks for serving!

My sister is active military ... she will be joining my family for our May trip to Disney. Right now we do have a room only res. for her and we are thinking about adding on tickets and dinning (the dinning plan does look like it saves people money even though we have to buy her tickets through Dinsey.) If a military discount comes out will she be able to apply it to the room only part or will we be stuck paying rack???
(P.S. I really wish they would offer that program they did a few years ago ... she got a room at CBR for 40% off and a 5 day pass for free ... wow, what a great deal that was for her. Though honestly, for the things she and all of our active military and reservists do for our country everyday we should be giving them their vacations for free !!!)

Thanks

If you want the dining plan you MUS pay rack rate and ge a package.. If you simply have a room only ressie they can apply the military discount
