When a new ship starts cruising, does DCL offer the military discount or will they restrict that to the other ships for awhile? DD wants to do a Disney cruise in 2022 for her 20th anniversary. The kids will be a fun age, and the discount will almost make it affordable.

DCL rarely comes out immediately with any discount; discounts are typically only offered after the PIF date for each cruise, if offered at all. Basically, discounts are offered to fill the ships. If the new ship(s) sell out easily, it's unlikely there will be MTO or any other discount offered. I would plan to book early, then if the cruise you selected isn't selling well, you can decide close to PIF whether to chance cancelling and waiting for MTO.

Enjoy your cruise!

The military discounts were available the first year the Dream sailed. So, yeah, I assume they will be offered on the new ships. They are VERY last minute offers though and come with a lot of restrictions, so you can't really plan ahead if you want to use one.

** sorry for the double quote above **

As military fares are only offered to fill otherwise empty ships, and normally that is after the paid-in-full (PIF) date for that cruise when offered, I doubt that Disney Wish, and her sisters in the class when launched, will have a lack of guests to have space to offer military fares in her first year of sailing. But, we won't know for sure until she is launched and in service. Also, realize that the military fare only applies to the one cabin occupied by the active duty or retired US military member, or their spouse if member is not present. A second cabin is only available at the military fare if the military members immediate family members sailing are larger in number than the largest cabin capacity offered under the military fare.
