Military Discount 2022

I'm sure hoping so. They did renew for DL, so I'm holding onto that for hope. I'm not sure why they would renew in DL and not renew for WDW. We have a trip coming up in January though, so I'm definitely getting anxious.

Steve at Military Disney Tips said he's heard rumor of early to mid-October for an announcement but also heard could be as late as November. Sigh.

Yes I also listen for Steve!!!!

I was just looking at the park reservation calendar and HS is booked up on two of the days right before we arrive. I mean, it's the tail end of the Christmas break season, but it still makes me anxious. I wish they'd just announce already. Even if the announcement is a no, at least I'd know to go ahead and buy different tickets. Of course, they never announce "no" since that's a bad PR look, they'll just stay silent,. Ugh.

They didn't actually renew for DL. The original ticket deal released earlier this year goes through Dec 2022, BUT the limit is still 6 tickets, so if you buy all 6 and use them in 2021, you're out of luck for next year. The resort discount is also good until Dec 2022, and can be used as often as you want.

My guess on what is taking so long is that this is a government contract and the Defense Budget for FY2022 is technically not signed off on yet. Until that happens, they can't sign new contracts. It's usually signed in September, but this year with all the debt ceiling drama, it's been delayed.

Aw ok that makes sense about DL. Well, I understand they got things worked out for a debt ceiling vote, so perhaps that will help get things moving again. I'm sorely tempted to just go ahead and purchase the MYW tickets but they are so much more expensive I hate to do that unless I have to. I know I just need to chill out and that things will likely be okay, but we are at 90 days out now and it's getting real. :)

I did email them to ask about the discount. As I expected...just a response that didn't give any real answers. We broke down and just bought the regular discounted tickets. I was just getting too nervous about park reservations for our trip.
Here was the response:

On behalf of our Cast Members at our Resort, we would first like to acknowledge and thank you and your family for your service and sacrifice!
