Military codes and discounts

Are there any other military discounts other than SOG that I can ask for when calling for my reservation? SOG doesn't off teh dining plan, so we're thinking of staying at one of the other moderate level disney hotels. What can I specifically ask for? The person I just spoke to said they didn't offer any... I think that's not entirely true. Anyone have some inside info for me?

The only way I've done this is if SOG is completely booked, they (SOG, not Disney) can see if they can get you an "overflow" rate at a Disney hotel. It can be a significant savings - we have gotten the BC for $110 a night and GF for $199 a night on overflow.

Hi, I am also looking for a MILITARY discount for 2008. I know that there was a 40% one offered last year on Disney Hotels. Has anybody HEARD about anything for 2008?? Thanks, Joan

With this, if SOG is booking it for you can you add on tickets and dinning plan? My husband is returning Jan '09 from Iraq and were planning a week at WDW and then a Disney Cruise. So specific dates will be hard to plan to far in advance as all of us military wife's know everything in the military is subject to change! lol So if I book closer and can't use a code and could book this way it would be great! FYI DCL usually has military discounts through out the year. Check wdwinfo dot com thats were I found them

I think you'd do best either booking SOG (you can't beat the rate for being so close to the monorail) and buy your tickets from them - they're a little bit of a discount. Then pay for your meals; it's not like you'll save a bundle by doing the dining plan.

SOG is less full now that they doubled the size of the resort. It used to be hard to get a room there, so we've gotten overflow a few times. I just checked for this early June, and their website has lots of availability. Plus one time a couple of years ago, they were full, but their overflow rates weren't all that great. I did better with an AP discount and got a better selection of resorts to choose from.
