Hi,
My late great-uncle was a master seargent in the army. He never married or had children, and not much is known about his career. I would love to do some research on it, but I'm clueless as to where I would even start. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks :)

I'd suggest a local VFW or American Legion or something like that. The members will probably tell you more then you ever wanted to know about the army! If you're close to an active duty base you could try the base historian to.

if you have a copy of his DD214 you may be able to get information on his service record from the Army-also if you know any of the posts he was stationed at many have mueseums that include information on soldiers stationed there =also some units-like the 101 Airborne and the 3rd armored cavalry have long unit histories that could help you
