MIL needs to cancel

Hi! My MIL is having some medical problems, and there's a big possibility that she won't be able to cruise with us. I've already notified DU Travel, but I'm still anxiously waiting for an email response.

Did this ever happened to you...where one had to cancel due to medical reasons? We're getting really close to our 30-day mark (11/21 sail date). And yes, we have insurance through DCL. So, shall I expect a full refund on her part?

I think Disney will credit 50% back from them and you will get the rest back from insurance. To get the money back, you will have to provide something from the doctor saying she cannot travel.

My future in laws had to cancel but it was 2 days before our payment was due. We got 100 percent back. We were paying for there cruise. Sorry I wasn't much help. I notice we are on the same cruise. We have a thread going in the cruise meet . Why don't you stop by and say Hi. Tina

A couple of years ago, I had planned a big vacation for my DM & DF to go with myself and my son...my father had a heart attack one week before we were to leave....I cancelled our trip and got a full refund. Of course this was staying on property and not on the ship, but I would think it would be the same for insurance purposes. All I have to say is Thank Goodness for that Insurance!!! Definately a lesson learned...I always buy insurance!!! I purchased Disneys insurance for our cruise this time!! Good luck and hope your mil gets better!!!
