I don't know if this question has been asked before ....

My MIL got a WDW e-mail with a pin in it for a discount. She knows that we are going to WDW in May and she also knows that DH and I are celebrating our birthdays while there. (My 30th and DH's 32nd!) She wants to get our room at Pop Century or POFQ for 3 nights using the code AND she wants to pay for the room as a gift to us!!! Woohoo!!! :jumping4: Do you think that we will be able to do this since she isn't going with us? She wants to reserve the room and pay for it for us, but she won't be there. Any thoughts on this? Thank you!

Sorry, Pin offers are non transferable if the person who was sent the offer is not traveling with you. They can be used by her spouse or dependent children.

We had a similar situation with an e-mail code on our December trip so hopefully I can help. My mom got an e-mail with a pin code and tried to book our room for us (she was not coming on the trip, just me, DH and DD 9 months). The CM she spoke with said she could do that, but that the reservation had to be under her name. She said as long as my husband and I were listed we'd be able to check in and keep the rate, but we had to have our names on the reservation. As it turned out, they only had deluxe rooms and suites available for our dates (we were staying at ASMu or any value available) so we ended up not using it so I can't guarantee that it would have worked, but the CM assured us it wasn't a problem as you're allowed 3 rooms with a code and obviously the code holder can't be in every room so they're allowed to book for others. To be safe, I'd have MIL call and check. When you check in though, even if they ask to see the e-mail, you can print it out and you'd have it with you (what our CM suggested) so you'd be fine.

Just have her book it in her name, have her list you guys on the reservation, boom, no problem. We've done it before!

Your Mother-In-Law will need to be on the reservation in order to book it with the PIN offer. They are non-transferrable.

For our November trip, I got an email (sent to my email address) w/ a code. I didn't see a name on the email, so I called Disney and tried to apply it to our reservation. They would not let me...they said it was for my Mother-In-Law and she had to be the one to call and to be going.

Fortunately, My MIL was going with us, so she applied the code and it all worked out. But had it not been for her going, they would not have let us use it.

I hope things work out better for you. Maybe it varies from CM to CM. Good Luck.

No. They accidentally sent me a postcard once with my brothers name but my address.

I was told neither my brother, nor I could use that code since the name and adress would never match.

 What a waste. I wrote a letter and complained and never heard back from them either.

My mom got a postcard but at my address. We used the code and got a discount. There wasn't any problem whatsoever. They didnt even ask for the postcard when we checked in.

Glad that worked out for you, but wouldn't it have been terrible to get down there and find out it wouldn't. Before you try these things, get names, dates times and all information pertainent to the discussion, so this won't happen to you.

BTW, CMTinkerbell is probably the most qualified to answer that question as she works at Central Reservations. :flower:

My mother was with me and since her name was on the postcard it doesn't matter what address is on the card. They only needed to see her driver's license.

Thanks everyone! We have decided not to stay on property unless either my DH or I receive an e-mail code ourselves. We currently have a 3 night reservation at Hawthorne Suites for $49/night. That's just in case we don't get an e-mail between now and then. Then, it's off to check out our new timeshare at the Fountains!

Still hoping for an e-mail code though.... :teeth:

A friend was sent a card, couldn't use it. Gave it to me, & I had no problems. This was in 2002.

love the photo of the two boys whats the story behind it
