It is exciting in a way, but I also wish that we could wait for the Fantasy to come out so that we can take a longer cruise! Either way, I know it will be fun!

We actually cruised with Mike's sister and niece last year on the Magic. They are joining us again on the Dream, as well as his brother-in-law, nephew and his niece's boyfriend. I think I've also talked my nephew into coming along with us as well.

I'll try and write a report again next year. Thanks for always reading along!:thumbsup2

Great report!! I am sad we didn't attend Til We Meet Again, not sure what we were doing, but hey something for our 7 nighter, right!

We are booked May 26, 2012 :scared1: on the Fantasy!! Luckily right now I am super busy with work and the holidays so it is not torturing me that bad right now.

I hope you right a TR for your September cruise, it really has been a fantastic report

I have been reading as many trip reports as possible for our first cruise on the Dream in July. I came across yours and thought we are practically neighbors! DH and I both graduated from UGA (and decided to stay here), but all my trips to WDW has converted our son to cheer on our greatest rival!
Thanks for the great report. I am definately going to take time to read your others. We are thinking of staying a couple of days on property before our cruise and visit the waterparks and just do stuff we don't normally take time to do at WDW. We were thinking of staying at Pop or at a moderate (i like the mods best - i like a good slide). Even though this will be our first cruise, we are taking it very easy (after my year in grad school, I just want to do nothing and not at home). We aren't planning any excursions, except we are definately renting bikes on CC (maybe a little parasailing for me and my DS). Yours is the second report i've read with detailed description of bike riding, so that is a must! Thanks for sharing, and anytime you are headed to the world, i'll meet you on the side of the road with my bags and just jump in with you!:)

Well, hello, neighbor!!! I'm so glad that you found my report. It's always great to meet fellow Dawg fans here!!
I am so very sorry that your son has gone astray and decided to cheer for "that team". That has to be every Dawg mother's worst nightmare!:scared1:
How exciting that you'll be cruising on the Dream in July!!
It sounds like we have a lot in common since you like a good water slide as much as I do. And speaking of slides, you should definitely take the time out to visit one of the water parks. The DH and I LOVE Typhoon Lagoon! Crush N' Gusher is the best!!
I'll let you know when we get ready to head south again so that you can be packed and ready!! Do you actually live in Athens?

We actually live on the county line (a little closer to the country), but are so close that I call Athens my home. We are only 10 minutes from campus. Where exactly are y'all located?
I was actually planning on going to Typhoon Lagoon the day before we sail out. My DD and mom and I will go there. My DS is a thrill seeker, so I thought he might like Blizzard Beach better. My sister and her family (they live in Ohio - too cold for me), will be joining us, so we will have to plan which one we want to go to. I'm still working on which resort we will stay pre-cruise. How did you like Pop? That is actually one of my first choices, but I can't help wanting to stay at PO-French Quarter (we stayed at Riveside a couple years ago and loved it). I also really like CB to get me in the caribbean mood. I have a little while to think about it. It will help take off some of the pressure while I finish up grad school.

I actually grew up right at the Clarke Co/Jackson Co line. Not sure if that's where you are or not. After I got married, I moved to Barrow Co, which is where my husband is from, so now we're about 30 minutes from Athens. However, we're in Athens a good bit since my sister still lives where were grew up and my Dad lives in Athens also.
Pop was just okay to be honest. I guess I've gotten spoiled since joining DVC and having stayed in nothing but the DVC resorts on our past few trips. I always wanted to stay at Pop though, just because it looked so fun, and since we were able to get such a great rate for the night before the cruise, we decided to go with it. It's okay for a night or two, but I don't know if I would want to spend a whole week there. Actually, PO Riverside is another resort that I really want to try. We stayed in CBR back in 2007 for a whole week and really loved it! Of course, all our trips have been in September, so it's a lot slower then, but it was peaceful and quiet. We loved it there! I'm sure that whatever you decided will be fun!:thumbsup2

We are actually on the Clarke/Oglethorpe Co line. Just on the other end. DH works in Barrow Co., and he grew up in Dacula (I moved there in high school). We wanted to get closer to the country, so we put down roots here (still close enough for me to go to town). Maybe I'll run into you at the WalMart!:rotfl:
Thanks for info on Pop. I'm really leaning more towards CSR or PO French Quarter. I just really like the mods. I enjoyed Riverside and loved CBR (pirate roompirate:). We aren't doing the main parks, so we would spend more time at the resort for about 3 days before going on the ship. I'm so excited about my first cruise (my coworkers think i am nuts - they just don't get it!). I have a feeling we will be hooked on cruising! Hope y'all have a Merry Christmas. Maybe we'll have a little white Christmas here (first one since the 1800's). I don't mind it for a day or so. I'd rather be seeing sand!
