We stayed at the Runaway Beach Resort in August for 3 days prior to checking into Disney. We have no complaints at all. As a matter of fact we loved it. It was clean and spacious. We are a family of 7 and we stayed in the 2 bedroom without a loft. My DH and I had a king bed with bath, the second bedroom had a twin and a double, which my 3 girls shared and my boys each had a pull out sofa in the living room. They could have shared but thought it was cool to have their own. There was a second bath in the hall. We did not have daily cleaning service, but they did bring fresh towels and take trash daily. The kitchen had everything we needed and we also had a washer and dryer (there was NOT any dishwasher cleaner or detergent for the washing machine, but I had brought our own). The location is great. There is a new Walmart nearby which we did not go to but everyone bragged about it. There is a Publix even closer. And one of the outlet malls is just up the road. There is also a back entrance that we used when we left to go to Disney (our GPS sent us that way) it was really close! It is a gated area at night and you have to use your room key to get in. They also have an alarm system in each room. The pool is nice, the kids really enjoyed it. They also have a basketball court and a business center with computers, but you have to be over 18 to use it. My older kids were bummed. They did not have an onsite restaurant and if you rely on shuttle to transport you to Disney you have to walk to the Country Inn and Suites to catch the bus.
Yes, I would recommend it and yes I would return. I have also read that the Mike Ditka Lighthouse Key resort is nicer! But we had to get a 3 bedroom there and it was a lot more money.
