First I'll start by saying I DO NOT have a big house. My Daughter and GS live with us, so I don't have a spare room. I don't have big closets and they are already filled to the brim with everyday stuff, plus the things I've bought.
Therefore when I'm done typing here, I am going to start wrapping a few things. I can organize better, write down all gifts and who they are for AND coordinate all the receipts/ gift receipts accordingly.
Oh, there used to be so much joy in all this!! Not that I can't some find joy now, but as years go by I do wish for the good old days a bit more!!!

I have to wrap as I buy the presents too. I have sneaky teens who know my hiding spots so they get wrapped asap so they have a few surprises on Christmas morning. I love to see them checking under the tree as I wrap them and watch them shake and try to figure out what it is. They haven't gotten too old for this yet and I am thankful for it.

I'm so far behind this year. Normally, I have it all wrapped by now but I don't even have all of decorations up yet. My plans for the weekend are finish decorating, wrap presents, and start baking my cookies. Yeah, I know, not all of that is going to happen.

IMO it's not early. I'm actually feeling the pricking of anxiety because I haven't even started my wrapping yet, nor the indoor decorating. This weekend all of the Christmas wrapping supplies will be brought upstairs to the dining room and Santa's giftwrapping workshop will be open for the season.

Household projects, upcoming appointments for our parents and slammed schedules mean the indoor holiday decorating isn't happening until the weekend of the 14th. My daughters have volunteered to step up and handle the baking this year, probably without assistance from me beyond the planning and loaning of kitchen equipment so they can more easily power through multiple batches. Without them the cookie monsters on our list would probably be kinda sad this year.

I grew up in a mixed religion household and also have one myself. Due to this, as a kid, I only experienced Christmas Eve and Christmas. My dad's family didn't put up their tree until Christmas Eve and didn't wrap gifts until that night. Gifts also weren't put out until after midnight and nearly everyone was in bed asleep. Mind you, I saw plenty of shows and movies and went to other people's houses...so, I knew that others did it differently, but for whatever reason, we kept the gift wrapping/gifts under the tree part of the tradition when I got married. So, every year, packages arrive and I just hide them wherever I can and nothing gets wrapped until Christmas Eve. It was tough when the kids believed in Santa because I'd have to explain why everything they get is from Santa and why we never had anything under the tree until they woke up on Christmas morning. As the kids' bedtimes got later, the later I had to wait. So, I'll be drinking and wrapping late on 12/24.

I've started wrapping, and will do more tonight. Others as they come in.

I had foot surgery a few weeks back, I'm using a walker and get tired easily. I've been mostly shopping online. I can't wait until the last minute. On the good side, the kids have volunteered to help with everything Christmas--my vegetarian daughter even volunteered to make the prime rib--which is wonderful. I'll leave them to cookie baking and decorating--I can wrap sitting down!

My husband & I are going to WDW Christmas week instead of exchanging gifts. My kids have been grown a long time. Son & DIL just want gift cards, Daughter & her SO are getting a combination of gifts & gift cards. The weather was horrible here this week but is going to be much better next week. So I’ll be running around getting gift cards from spas, hair & nail salons, home improvement stores, restaurants & other retail shops. We still do stockings for them, so I have to get that stuff too. So I haven’t done any wrapping yet, but it will mostly be small stocking stuffers & gift card boxes & bags. My husband is good about wrapping & will help get it done. Our house was decorated since early November. I’m still debating on making cookies before or after our trip.

Funny enough we've only really bought for one sister-in-law and her husband thus far and it's about 5 or so gifts total. Her and her husband just bought a house and had to cancel their housewarming party so some of it she asked for were home stuff like a cast iron skillet, straps for cords and such. We've wrapped 3 out of the 5 we've bought of her.

We don't always do it because it depends on the shape of the gift and the amount of wrapping paper we have but we have often enough color coordinated people's gifts by using the same wrapping paper for all of one person's gifts. That way it's been easy to separate out which house and when distributing the gifts which spot to put them in. So far this year those 3 out of 5 are in the same wrapping paper.

Most of what I've bought is wrapped already. Sometimes I forget what the wrapped package even is! I should be making notes I guess. Still have several things I need to get / receive, and teacher gifts I still need to think about.

I made the first round of xmas cookies ... ginger ... this week. I made about 6 dozen and have 3 dozen unbaked in the freezer to make closer to xmas. Sunday we'll do nutella chocolate chip cookies.

The upside: DGDs are now old enough to do a good job wrapping gifts.

The downside: Many of the gifts are for DGDs

my mother used to put my gifts inside boxes, tape them shut and get me to wrap them telling me they were gifts for my brothers. I would wrap, she would take them, later tag them and I would'nt realize until Christmas morning that she pulled a fast one on me :rotfl:

me thinks I will begin wrapping tomorrow (the annual kitten bow thefts will begin!!!!).

Opened the mountain of Amazon boxes and took inventory tonight to see what else we need to buy.

Hope to finish purchases by early next week. Then will start wrapping.

All wrapped here except for some last minute items that have yet to be purchased. FedEx has also already picked up our gifts for out of town families.

Am I the only weird one that wraps all gifts for person A in one particular wrapping paper, person B in a different particular paper and so on? I also have specific paper for gifts from Santa. I also never tag them except for the gifts being shipped.

I wish I had that kind of motivation... I am just going to use giftbags, and I have yet to even plan for it. I have vacay coming up pretty soon, I plan to knock it out then. I am still waiting on some stuff to arrive.

I DON'T do this, because I like a big, messy, colorful pile under the tree! I have a lot of issues/trauma associated with Christmas, I know I over-compensate because of that, but I just can't help myself.
