We will be flying Midway in August , and we got an outstanding price for trip. I was wondering if they are an on time airlines or do they cancel flights. We leave at 6:30am and arrive at MCO at 9:53am. We are flying from Columbus Ohio. From the time that we arrive at Raleigh Durham to the time we leave is only 30 minutes. I just hope that they are on time. Does anybody have any comments on the airlines?

Midway Airlines has generally received very positive comments here and on other message boards I frequent. I've been told that a 30 minute connection at RDU is easily doable.

Early morning departures are rarely delayed because the plane has been on the ground overnight. Unless you are dealing with weather, usually the only issue that will delay an early morning flight is if the flight crew got in really late the night before and has not yet had their mandatory rest, but that doesn't happen very often at all.

Although we have not flown Midway Airlines, we did spend about 6 hours at one of their Terminals at
Raliegh/Durham Airport after our plane made an emergency landing and was given permission to "park" at one of their terminals. Keep in mind it was the day after Christmas. One woman we spoke with, at 6:30pm had been sitting in the airport waiting for her flight since 8:30 that morning. They kept delaying it and delaying it. She had missed her connecting flight in Atlanta, and was going to spend the night in Atlanta to get a fight (standby) the next morning. There were constantly announcements on the PA system that this flight was delayed and that flight was delayed. I got a very bad impression of Midway Airlines. Maybe it was just the day... in the busiest travel period of the year
I'm sure your fliight will be fine.

actually all airlines have those kind of off days. especially if the weather is bad downline. whats important to know is if your carrier that you want to fly has any interline agreements with any other carriers that if your flight cancels will they protect you on another carrier. xmas travel is the second most busy time of the year and the day after xmas is pretty busy as well. Midway took over a lot of the gates at the american terminal there in Raleigh when they quit using that as one of their hubs. and they share a lot of american counters as well.

I also got a great rate on Midway from Pittsburgh to MCO. They have already changed our flight times 5 times without ever notifying us. The last time change did not accommodate our schedule at all. After many calls to customer service and very rude treatment, Midway finally agreed to put us on another airline for all the inconvenience they caused.

I hope you have a better experience!

We just returned from last week on an extra trip this year due to their great sale. PIT to TPA 110 rt (tax included!!!) We had no problems at all and would fly them again anytime. Delta- thats another whole story.

Our Midway flight from Boston to Orlando was delayed 5 hours back in early December. The person loading luggage threw a carseat into the hold and caused mechanical problems. The airport staff was very apologetic. Our flight home was delayed about an hour. We had to make a connection in N.C., and they held the plane for us.

We flew Midway this past week. First 3 flights were all on-time. RDU-BOS on Sunday was all set to be delayed up to 2 hours due to the fog in Boston. No sooner had we been told of the delay than we got the clearance to load up. Departed 15 minutes late, and arrived in Boston right on time. Weather can be tough on an airline like Midway because all flights go through their hub. As for connections, it's not more than a two minute walk from any one Midway gate to another--they're all basically right at the end of the terminal, and very convenient.
