I'm trying to decide between the midsize car that I already have booked or switching it to a convertible that would be like $9-10 more. While the convertible would be fun, I don't think we would really get that much time to drive around with the top down.

What would you do?

How many of you are there? How much luggage is there? When are you going?

1. Convertibles have smaller back seats and can have TINY trunks. (I drive one with one of the "bigger trunks" it's not that big. Two 22" suitcases and few extras generally fill these things up and if you get the VW or Mustang there is basically NO trunk room

2. If its cool when you go they are not that fun LOL!

If you are renting from National's Emerald Aisle there is a reasonably good chance you can get a convertible for the same price as a Midsize.

BUT I have to second the small trunk size of the car AND the nuisance factor of things like all your papers- including your parking pass if you've got one- blowing away. We gave in to ds's begging a few times and rented them but have since decided the thrill isn't worth it.
