All,

Both of my sons are graduating from college in May. I have planned a trip to WDW for middle of the month. We have been to WDW many times, but this will be the first since COVID. There are lots of threads on the new processes and procedures but a couple of things I have not found out.

First - As I said, I have 2 sons who are graduating. One is continuing on to Law School so he is committed to the trip. The other is not and is actively seeking employment. He wants to go but cannot commit to the trip given his desire for a career and the possibility he will need to start his new job. So I was not planning on buying him a ticket until closer to May. The issue is with park reservations. If I make the park reservations with son #1 and then son #2 finds out he can go, will it be difficult to add him to the reservation.

Second - Fastpass +. I understand that the system is suspended. Any word on when it will start up again? I am going to assume that it will not be going in May given the vaccine distribution timeline.

I am sure there are a TON more questions I am going to have and will keep reading but those two are the top of mind right now.

Thanks in advance!

You should be able to still get park reservations a week or so out from your trip. Even if you don’t get the one for your son but have them for everyone else in your party you will be able to go to guest services, explain the situation and have them add your son to the rest of your group. I just did this on 1/1 for my daughter when I renewed her ap and got her a park pass for the next day.

I work with graduating college students every day - as for the one looking for a job - how LONG after graduation is this trip planned? Most employers realize when they are hiring new graduates that the person likely needs a couple of weeks between graduation and the first day of work - so a fair number of them don't expect a new graduate to say they are available to work until the first Monday in June, for example. Start day of a new job is something folks are asked to put on a job application or is something that is often negotiated when an offer is received (or information requested in an interview). So - I'm not sure about your son's exact scenario - but I'm not seeing why he couldn't plan to travel in May if he graduates in May.

Congratulations on your sons' graduation! I would buy the park ticket and that way he would be guaranteed to find a job!
