Mickeystoontown's Gang hits the Bahamas & WDW! Who gets choked or stuck this time?

The American Pickers guys are from my hometown!!! We always say we are going to stop by their shop when we go home to visit my family. We haven't yet.

My son would stop by their shop! We were driving on the highway when he spotted a white mercedes van. He wanted me to get up next to it to see if it was them. Didn't get the chance, our lane was going too slow and theirs too fast.

Be more comfortable with the sharks. . .:rotfl:
Holy Cow that was a lot of choices, but what a cool one you made :)
Getting closer. . .whoo hoo!!!

Well I've been off the boards for a little while. My computer is:sick: and in the hospital. I am using someone else's when I can but it seems whenever I can use it the Dis is down or logs me off and then I can't get back on. I had to sign back on to make this reply:(

So I don't think I will ever get "sweetie britches" out of my mind. Hey that could be your name on the Country Comes to Town reality show:happytv:

It sounds like there are so many decisions to make when you go on a cruise. I'm sure you all will have the best time!

Wow! That's a lot of excursions! I would have had a hard time choosing. The one you chose seems interesting. And though I've already swam with dolphins twice, I would have had a hard time resisting doing it again. I just love it so much!

That's a TON of things to choose from! I can see why you were overwhelmed. DH doesn't tolerate me talking about vacations during American Pickers, Pawn Stars, or Top Gear. Gotta squeeze it in during Dancing with the Stars :rotfl:

What a great tour choice! The boat looks really cool, and the driving tour is a great touch! DH and I took a (non-Disney) cruise when we got married. We loved walking around Nassau and didn't find it to be too scary at all. We even went to the Straw Market and had a blast. I've read on here that a lot of people are apprehensive to venture into Nassau on their own, but we had a great time and never felt like we were in danger.

Wow!! I can definitely see why you were overwhelmed with the all the different choices!!:faint:

But, I think you made a great decision!!The Seaworld explorer looks very cool and the tour sounds like a lot of fun as well.

I totally understand the hard decisions...I am trying to narrow down some choices for Nov...and change my mind daily.

Skip and I did some of the "see"portion of that excursion through NCL when we sailed them years ago.I wish I had a digital camera back then. I only took a limited amount of pictures.

I love American Pickers. We like Pawn Stars too but we can't stand Corey. He's a know it all who doesn't know much.

OMG!!!! We have to watch those same shows!!!! Especially Top Gear, but the Brittish version, of course.....:rotfl2:

Looks like you made some GREAT choices!!! and wow!! I had NO IDEA there would be THAT many exursion options! :scared: I would have been TOTALLY overwhelmed too!!

That boat reminds me of the old 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea at MK but you will be looking at real things! Sounds great and so does the bus tour.

Your husband sounds like mine! Every time I started to ask him about a shore excursion for our cruise, he said I will do whatever, just don't talk to me about it! I couldn't believe it - to me half the fun is in the anticipation! At this point I have made all the choices (for us AND our friends who are going along). So I guess it is my fault if no one has fun! LOL (I'm not worried - I know they will love all my picks.)

I go on vacation and I miss all the cruise stuff! :( As you know, Jeff and I did our first cruise in 2010 and, believe me, you'll learn! It all seems overwhelming, but you'll get it.

I love the excursion you chose. It gives you the opportunity to do some sightseeing as well as enjoying the water. Fort Fincastle is cool..the view of the harbor with all the huge ships docked is amazing!

Make a stop in the Straw Market...if only to try out your bargaining skills!

We are hoping to do a cruise/WDW trip next spring so I'll be watching your trip very carefully. ;)

Snorkeling, Sting ray city and Dolphin encounters have been our favorite shore excursions (can you tell we love the water?!) - I need to research the sea lion one - that sound pretty amazing!

Girl, I'm sorry, I'm soooo far behind!! Do you have any day in particular that you want me to head over to meet with you guys? A weekend day would be preferrable, after the 18th of May, hubby will be done with his assignment in Miami, and will be home full time, so whichever day is good. My guys' favorite park is Hollywood studios. I'll go back and read your info, so I can let you know if any day is better for me than another!! I can't wait to finally meet you!!! :)

Hey Lisa,

just caught up with you again...
love the land and sea excursion great choice!
we did a beach day last year in the Bahamas but our table mates did a land tour and loved it...I loved their pics and descriptions...fun!

love the room choice!!! and holy moly what a porthole!

I overheard my kids talking today. They were planning our next year's vacation. They have decided on a cruise. I listened to them and chuckled to myself. Silly boys, don't you know your Mama doesn't swim very well and is terrified of being surrounded by water with no land in sight. Anyways, I was telling DH about their conversation tonight and he agrees with them.:scared1: I really don't want to do this but I am getting ready to go over to the cruise boards and start researching. I am going back to reread your PTR and soak up all your information. I have a million questions and I hope you don't mind me asking them along the way and after your trip. Like passports, tipping, parking fees, transportation, etc.

:lmao: I know it sounds funny, but boy is it true! We normally just spray it on whatever parts we can reach ourselves, but you really need to get someone else to spray you from neck to heel on the back. Once we got out there and started snorkeling, time just sort of melted away and we probably ended up floating in the water for maybe 2 hours?? That's a long time to be facing the sun and you get burned quicker in the water anyway. You will have a severe sunburn if you don't take the time to spray down that backside!

I'll second/third this advice. Didn't do it the first time I snorkeled (on a cruise like 20 years ago). It was not comfortable sitting for the next 24 hours or so! We also ALWAYS wear t-shirts when we snorkel.

BTW- Lisa- my Olympus Tough did great on the trip (although it was a backup camera). Hope you are having some fun playing with yours.
