Mickeystoontown's Gang hits the Bahamas & WDW! Who gets choked or stuck this time?

That's so exciting!!! A new resort and a Disney cruise!!!:yay::yay:

All the pictures that I have seen of the Dream look so beautiful!! You are going to have an amazing time!!:thumbsup2

ooooohhhhh aaaaahhhhhhh
Looks like an AWESOME TIME!!
We had wanted to do a cruise this time around too but DH ended up booking a destination wedding while we are down there and added on Busch so we vetoed the cruise idea. I'm quite happy with 19 days in sunny Florida though :) It'll give us a nice early start to summer!! Sure hope to do a cruise some day though. Is this your first cruise? Or are you a cruisin veteran?

The booking of the cruise was a spur of the moment decision but I'm excited to try it out. It's our first cruise and we have no idea whether or not we will likei t.

I so wish I had 19 days in Florida! I've never been to WDW and said "I wish I were at home".

:lmao: I love the mosquito cartoon :rotfl2:. We grow 'em pretty big around these neck of the woods too. If you ever want to keep from being bitten, just have me around. I seem to be some kind of mosquito magnet. I will be eaten up and everybody else will be bite-less :rotfl2:.

I found that picture on Google images and thought it was cute. We do have some of those who bite and feel as big as the one in the picture.

I can't wait to see what you thought of POR! I love that place!

Well, I really can't wait to hear about it all, but that goes with put saying!

Loved the Who, What, and Where! But WHY?:lmao:

We won't have much time at POR but I do hope that we get to walk around a get a feel for the resort while we are there.

Oooooh!!! A land and sea vacation!! That's awesome!!

We use to stay at POR alot!! At one point it was my favorite resort. Back when attendance was low we use to be able to get a standard room for $79 a night.

That mosquito picture is funny! Do you have "no see ums" like we have here, or you just grow them big?

What we wouldn't give to see the days of $79 rooms at a moderate again!

We do have "no see ums" but we also have some that are huge!

How fun! I really want to go on a Disney cruise sometime so I'll be very interested in hearing all about your trip when you get back. Can't wait to hear more!

We have never cruised but figured if we were going to try it, we might as well make it a Disney cruise.

Some help for ya. Those pics of the dream are pretty cool....we took these from the CG station across the bay from the cruise terminals.

Was when it was first here, and that thing is HUGE!!!! We saw the lights coming over the first bridge just before getting on Merritt Island!! Awesome ship, very pretty!!! we were gonna book a cruise for my step daughter's 16th birthday this year in October, but the military has different plans for us, so no cruise. :headache:

I love all the "wheres" as usual, awesome writing girl!!! :hippie:

Very cool pictures! Everybody says that the cruise ships are huge and that you really can't tell how big they are until you actually see them.

I'm here! I just read all 5 pages at once, I knew if I didn't I was gonna get left in the dust:laughing:

Yeah Lacey and Jesse get to go with you. I'm so happy for you:woohoo::dance3: I knew you would have them on a vacation with you sooner or later:cloud9:

I'm sorry to hear mama can't go with you this trip but you all are going to have the best time!

Hey Kathy! Glad to have ya! I'm so excited that Lacey and Jesse are going with us. Thank goodness for those extra side jobs and for extra money.

I'm still working on getting Mama to go but I haven't had any luck yet.

Aww, no fair! You get to start two days before us!!! :lmao:

We are leaving the 24th at about 2pm, I hope. It's the last day of school, so we are letting Bella ride the bus home so that she can be in the bus parade at school. Really, it's just the school busses doing a couple laps around the parking lot while the kids hang their heads out of the windows and yell and scream at their friends. But she's 9, so it's cool. :confused3

We are overnighting in Orlando and then heading down to Disney's Vero Beach Resort for part of Memorial Day weekend and then up to BCV for the rest of the week.

We'll be on the lookout for your group!

By the way, can you keep a secret? We ended up booking a Disney cruise for Spring Break 2013 about a month ago. It will be our first Disney cruise and we haven't told the girls yet. We are going on the Fantasy! I'm already trying to plan for that and it's over a year away! I'm such a nerd.

I have never heard of the school bus parade! Even if it's something simple, I am sure the kids enjoy it. I know I would have when I was a kid.

Keep your eyes open for us. If you see us, holler, jump up and down, do something to get my attention. :yay: I'm the world's worst about being right beside someone but never even seeing them. :confused3

I'm so excited that you have added the cruise to this trip! Jeff and I had a blast on our first cruise and can't wait to be able to take the boys sometime soon. Nassau is beautiful in May...you'll love it!

And you KNOW how I feel about POR!

I remember your cruise trip and thought about it often when I was reading about the Nassau shore excursions.

Yep...I'm late...but I'm here! :cool1:

Love reading all of your trip reports, and can't wait to read about all of your planning!

Welcome! No such thing as being late so long as you here! :thumbsup2

:woohoo: I'm so glad you started your PTR! That way, I can keep with you and know what I should be doing!

Hey girl! How are your plans for the cruise shaping up? Booked any excursions yet?

That's so exciting!!! A new resort and a Disney cruise!!!:yay::yay:

All the pictures that I have seen of the Dream look so beautiful!! You are going to have an amazing time!!:thumbsup2

We are very excited about all of the "news" that have been added to this trip.

I know you drive from LA but what a bout Lacey & Jesse? Will they go to LA and Then FLA? It so much fun going with the whole family. I hope you have as much fun on the cruise as you do at the parks...but I bet you will!

Love all the Where's! This trip sounds like it's gonna be a great one!

Thanks! I'm hoping you're right.:thumbsup2

They are going to drive from Knoxville to Disney which is a shorter drive....lucky them.

I know you will have so much funny having Jesse there for his first Disney trip! We took our son in law in 2007...he never wanted to go..."it's just an amusement park" Well he loved it and has been back twice. This year just Megan and I and her 2 boys went and he was so sorry he had said no, as was my husband. So we will alll go in 2013! Hopefully we can get my son to join in but that's hard as he has a new job and a new apartment etc.

Jesse looks like a fun guy so he will have fun. And it will cool for you all to see it through a newbie's eyes. Hopefully you will have grandbabies soon to take along... that is so much fun! I love my 2 boys!!!!!!

We too took our SIL for his first trip to the World a few years ago. Well, he wasn't our SIL yet, but actually proposed on this trip. He had never been because it is "cheesey," "a money trap," "just another amusement park," and "a silly place for an adult to spend their vacation."

I think he changed his mind because he chose to go back on their honeymoon! :lmao: And they are planning yet another trip in 2014-15. The only reason they aren't going back sooner is because the DD is in school full time for nursing and money is tight for the moment.

I think we created another Disney freak. :thumbsup2 Well, maybe not a freak because he is too cool for that. But maybe a closet Disney freak? :rotfl:

For the cruise portion of your trip I highly recommend the nausea patches. Especially if anyone is prone to headaches.

Went on my first cruise a few years ago and by day 2 had a bad headache and nauseous, put one of those on and had no problems the rest of the cruise. (It was a 7 day Alaska cruise.)

I have heard pros and cons with those. But the number one thing is...you can NOT drink ANY alcohol while wearing those. It makes you totally whacky. And Lisa....people wouldn't know if it was the real you or you just playing around. :rolleyes1

Oddly one of the side effects of those pills is headaches. I get migraines so my doctor wouldn't get me them. Instead he gave me meclizine pills which do the same thing, but if you have side effects the drug is out of your system in 8 hours verse 72.

What an exciting trip! A cruise and time at Disney...wow!! My son keeps asking when we're going to take a Disney Cruise. Then again, he's asked me recently when we're going to Hawaii, China, Rio de Janeiro, and Australia because he's seen/read something about them!

We're staying at POR in October for the first time. My DSIL and DBIL love it there. It will be fun to try something new. We love what we've seen in pictures so far, and love the idea that it's all been refurbished recently. Can't wait to see what you think of it!

Subscribing! We will be there at the same time!

Oh that's so good to know. I don't know if you remember or not but I have frequent migraines, most of them caused by the Bell's Palsy.

Every one of the places your son named are places that I'd love to visit!

So, we are both POR newbies. Even though we'll only be there one night, I'm still excited about seeing the resort.

Subscribing! We will be there at the same time!

Welcome aboard!

Jesse's only been to WDW once and that was quite a few years ago and it was a very short trip. He's super excited to be going with "pros" who know what to see and when to see it.

I bet the son-in-law and your husband are glad that you're all going to Disney in 2013. Sounds like they both realized how much fun they missed out on.

I'm thinking we'll have at least a couple of years before grandbabies come along but I have already told Jesse & Lacey that I'm taking them to WDW come heck or high water.

It's very hard for people to wrap their heads around the fact that Disney isn't someplace like Six Flags or simply an amusement park. I, personally, can't see myself going anywhere else on vacation.

Oh I'm betting that your SIL is secretly counting down the days until they are back in Disney.

I am trying to decide what kind of nausea/sea sickness remedies to take with us on the cruise. I may talk with John's doctor about the patches and see what he thinks.

I have heard pros and cons with those. But the number one thing is...you can NOT drink ANY alcohol while wearing those. It makes you totally whacky. And Lisa....people wouldn't know if it was the real you or you just playing around. :rolleyes1

Jen, you know us too well! It's a good thing we aren't drinkers or we'd kicked off the cruise AND banned from the parks. :lmao:

Hi-dee Ho neighbors! I hope that ya'll are all having a stupendous week so far. Ya'll bear with me 'cause I'm working on getting the "how" installment written up and should be posting it soon. :thumbsup2

So, I said that this installment would be regarding the "how" but I forgot that I hadn't posted the "when" or the "wheres" for Lacey & Jesse's part of the trip. I can't get away with not giving their details now can I?
WHEN
Lacey and Jesse's portion of the trip is different from our's because they aren't going on the cruise with us but, rather, are going to meet up with us for just for the Walt Disney World part. Their dates are May 27th through June 2nd.

WHERE

Their trip starts out something like this:

Number 1 Where: The beautiful city of Knoxville, Tennessee:

ar124745477261523.jpg

If you were paying attention to my intros, you'll recognize the fountain in the picture above as being one and the same as the one that Lacey and Jesse jumped into when they had their engagement pictures taken. You'll also notice that their "Where Number 1" looks way better than our "Where Number 1":

Cartoon_Mosquito_Carrying_a_Man_Off_110108-130813-199042.jpg

Their drive is also quite a few hours less than our's with our's being over 15 hours and their's being about 10 1/2. Lucky dogs!

Because they won't be arriving until later in the evening and, due to the fact that there were no standard rooms available at the Caribbean Beach Resort under the Spring Room Offer, we booked a room for them at:

Number Two Where: Pop Century Resort!

sign.jpg

Jesse stayed at Pop Century when he was in Orlando before but said that they didn't get to do much looking around due to their schedule. Lacey has never stayed at Pop and wasn't with us the year that we drove over to have a look around and eat lunch.

On May 28th, they will be moving over to:

Number Three Where: Caribbean Beach Resort and I have requested that our two reservations be linked so that our rooms, hopefully, will be close to each other.

On June 2nd, we say our goodbyes to each other and to Disney and I'm quite sure that we'll all look something like this:

Baby_3_tnb.png

I guess that 'bout wraps up the Whens and Wheres for Lacey and Jesse's part of the trip. I know that these kinda posts aren't that exciting but it's a necessary evil that I include them....after all, this is a pre-trip report.

Up next, and I promise this time, is the "hows" and possibly even a bit of info on our park plans.

After 9 or so hours in the car, does it really matter??? 10 1/2.....15....I can imagine it all feels the same. LONG! :scared:
