Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

We have ADRs for CRT for 6 pm on a night of MVMCP. After much debate, we decided the 5 yr old would not be able to make it much past 8 or so therefore we opted not to stay for MVMCP. I have two questions about this.

First since we probably won't be finished dining by 7 pm, will they attempt to hurry us out of the restaurant or will they allow us to finish our meal in a nice, relaxing manner?

Secondly, if we wanted to walk for a few minutes on Main Street, would that be permissible? We definately don't want to ride rides or get any treats (yikes! we'll probably be too full to even think about treats!)... We would, however, enjoy seeing the "snow" on Main Street and soaking up a teeny bit of atmosphere before shuffling off to our hotel. (Since the 5 yr old fades about 8 pm usually I doubt we could stay much past 7:30!)

Of course we would never attempt to "cheat" Disney out of anything but I was told by a cast member that we could shop on Main Street we just couldn't enjoy the rides, treats etc.

Thanks for reading this and I hope there are some good answers to these questions.

Im reading I promise, but Im getting anxious.......so allow me to ask anyway without finishing up all million pages to see if someone else asked a smiliar question. :lovestruc

Looking for advice/suggestions. This trip was an UNEXPECTED/UNPLANNED until a few days ago (long story) so Im nervous. :p

We fly in Nov 30th and fly out the evening of the 5th. We are staying at a disney resort so we will get extra hours some of the days: Should we purchase a 3 day ticket and the christmas party tickets ..... or purchase a 4 day ticket AND a christmas ticket.........or just a 4 day and skip the party?

**we have a 4 year old and 8 month old and they are NIGHTOWLS** :lovestruc

You don't say if this is your first trip or not? If you want to see it all, if you have kids, or if you'll purchase hoppers.

But based on how many days you'll be at WDW, IMHO, I'd buy the 4 day hopper AND MVMCP. There's so much to see and do and MVMCP is very magical.

Good luck deciding!

Sorry and thank you!

I havent been to WDW in 20 years. DH, son and I went to DisneyLAND last October while I was pregnant with our dd. They have never been to WDW. We did think it's better to purchase hoppers, so I believe we will. :goodvibes

Thank you, thank you!

If one is flying in early on a Wednesday and leaving late on Monday would a Thursday or Sunday be best for tickets?

It's a matter of opinion; preference and finances. I'd personally get passes for every day I'm there but that's just me. I'd also go to MVMCP too to maximize my park time and enjoy all the festivities.

Maybe you can buy a 5 day pass and take the day off (no pass) on the day you do MVMCP like either Thursday, Friday or Sunday. Relax at the pool.

It's up to you what you think you can handle and afford.

Good luck deciding!!

How exciting!!!!

I'd definitely go to MVMCP AND get park-hopper tickets for at least 5 days. The difference between 4-day tickets and 5-day tickets is only $8 each ($7 for a child), so that's a difference of only $23 total (2 adult, one child) to get an extra day. Add another $9 total ($3 each) on to that and you get 6 days. So for $32 more you can get 6 day park hopper tickets.

Have a great trip!

Those of us who decided to purchase tickets to MVMCP are for the most part paying for the atmosphere. Honestly, I like to go just for the snow on Main Street if not for anything else. :goodvibes However, since the MK closes at 6:00 pm on days that a MVMCP takes place, you are already technically getting a perk of being a MVMCP attendee, this is just my opinion, but I think the restaurants stay open for the MVMCP goers. Anyway, you have an ADR for an inappropriate time now that you have decided not to go. I don't think you will be rushed out of dinner at all. I also don't think you would be breaking rules by taking your time while exiting the park and even doing a little shopping. I just don't think I would do it. :confused3

Good luck with your decision.

Can you tell me about the free pics?

Everyone in your party is in one pose. A photo for each member of your party, of that one pose, is then mailed to your address.

Do you see a lot of little girls in dressy holiday outfits for this? I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to put my DD5 in.
Thanks!

While your idea sounds perfectly harmless, imagine if everyone or if even 1/4 of the MK attendess that day had the same idea. Main Street and the shops would be packed with those without MVMCP tickets trying to soak up just a little of the atmosphere. Personally, if I had changed my mind about attending the party, I would get dinner elsewhere and be out of tyhe park by 6pm. Good luck to you in whatever you decide. Hope your day at the MK will be great!

Our responses mirror one another and boy does that make me feel good! I was afraid I would be the only one.

I feel another rule coming from WDW if people try that sort of stuff. Next you will have to give your MVMCP or MNSSHP ticket number to make ADR's for after the parks close on special event dates. :rolleyes1

Thanks for answering my post. I had made the ADR long ago and had made it clear that we were definately not going to MVMCP when I made the ADR. I had no idea that a 6 pm time would be for MVMCP goers...if this is true, I apologize. I just booked dinner at the castle for the family.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see as far as the "rushing" part goes. I have no idea if they will hurry us thru or not. As far as the "snow" goes, I know we'll get to see it as we are escorted out of the park if they do escort us out.

Thanks for your post!

I doubt they will rush you. I can't see Disney doing that for any reason. I would keep your ADR and I would for sure do some shopping and snow seeing on your way out. :goodvibes

Does anyone have the schedule for the party and a map? There are 147 pages so sorry couldn't go through them all, lol. Maybe the mod could post them on the OP.

THANKS!

We have been to MVMCP for the last two years and each year my DD6 and I have purchase special holiday sweaters. Disney also sells special holiday shirts and sweatshirts.

We have had alot of fun planning what to wear that evening. For the past two years a long sleeve sweater has been just right (temperature wise). We have attended the first week of December.

Have fun!

I can't get the thread search function to work. Does anyone have an idea about what time fireworks will be this year?

According to what they are telling regarding my Wishes Cruise on a MVMCP night, 9:15pm.

Mary
