Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2014 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas!

Great review, thank you for sharing. It really helped me as I examine my plans for the party.

Great information, should be very helpful here for others going to the party. And great photos, thanks for sharing everything. I'm sure this will become another great, long running thread.

I like the colorful and creative layout of your post also. :thumbsup2

Again thank you for reading. I want to help people really enjoy and maximize their time at the party, and by getting attractions out of the way first and then heading towards the characters it makes the night seem very enjoyable when you come home and look at your excellent photos.

Thank YOU for reading and commenting if you have any questions about the party please feel free to ask, I want to make sure you have the best time ever!
What a great review! Just to add to your info, a couple attractions are closed during the party, at least Hall of Presidents and Carousel of Progress are. Columbia Harbor House is closed for the party and Pinocchios Village Haus stopped serving food at 8pm - both are cookie/cocoa locations. Thanks for sharing your pictures, they are great!

Fixed it up and gave you a special credit; thank you for pointing that out in case people wanted to go on those attractions/restaurants!

LOVE the picture with the toy soldiers on main street and the castle in the background!! I need to put that on my must do list for my family's trip. Can you tell me if there was a photopass photog at that spot or did you just get someone to take your pic with your own camera?

Thanks so much for posting the review, it was a great read for those of us who haven't been yet!!

Thank YOU for reading and leaving your wonderful comments I can't wait to see your photos and hear about your family's adventure! We did a mix of both we LOVE Photopass, and we give the photographers our camera too just incase we lose the card! :santa: Any photo you've seen is with the photopass people taking them for us...what a great service they do as people love to be in the photos as well.

Thanks for the review....where could we find Jack Skellington....my DD favorite...counting down to our Dec 16th MVMCP!

You forgot one important part of the party...the special and free Sorcerer of the Magic Kingdom party card. This year it was Elsa, and every party goer, gets one special party card and pack of cards with admission (they mark your bracelet after you receive them). They are a great souvenier, some pixie dust you can share later in the park (on another day) if you see a young sorcerer playing the game, or sell on eBay...the Elsa card goes for around $30-$50/card right now.

The card and card pack can be picked up at the two SOTMK training stations, either at the Firehouse (near the main entrance) or behind the Christmas Shoppe.

Great review and pictures thanks!

Jack is ALL the way back in Storybook Circus, where you see the meet and greets for the ducks by the barnstormer/dumbos that shoot water he's all the way back there.

Thanks! I'm going to add this in thanks to you! I can't believe it's going for that much geeze!

I love it! I'm subscribing, thanks! Are you in the green or red? You both look fabulous and are a beautiful couple. I can't wait until 12/4. Well maybe I can wait a little, as that's our last thing we're doing at Disney.

Great post! Makes me that much more excited about attending MVMCP in a few weeks. :)
Really happy to read the info about Memory Maker for one-day price as we live in FL and are only going to attend the event on this trip.

Make sure you purchase your tickets in advance

I'll uodate the OP tonight with map event information and dance parties when I get home

Just noticed you made this thread with more info and plans! Definitely making a plan with yours as a reference :) I'm so excited! We leave on dec 12th for our honeymoon, that's all I've been talking about lately lol. I need to find some cute outfits for the party too! Thanks so much for posting this :santa:

:santa:Can I purchase Memory Maker for that One Day?
  • YES ask guest relations to place this on your account for a special one day price of 39.99. Totally worth it if you LOVE taking pictures, as nothing beats Disney Photo-pass Photographers....they will still take photos for you AND will be out past park closing at 12 so don't worry you can still sneak some photos in!

Good to have the one-day MM confirmed. I sure wish Disney would just put it on their website somewhere, but I guess that would be too easy!

We also took the time to ride Barnstormer, and Dumbo! I actually never NEVER been on Dumbo until this time, it was actually pretty cool and I felt like it was something that needed to be done...very satisifying.

I'm glad I am not the only one who hasn't ridden Dumbo! If you can do it, surely I can too!

Boo Bear - You beat me to it! I was guessing CampbellzSoup was the "red one!"

GREAT REPORT and PICS!:santa: Can't wait until I get to go on Dec. 14.

*Updated the OP

You're going to have the BEST TIME EVER. You need to come back to this thread and tell us all about your familys time there! Please ride Dumbo too...to me I always see it in the advertisements and think man I never got to do that...with NO wait time I walked on and felt wow this was awesome I glad I had a chance to actually do it.

What gives it away I'm the red one too much smiling lol :goodvibes

Can you tell me please what date did you go to the party? In the pictures it looks so empty.

TIA,

Karen:)

Sure! I attended 11/20 & 11/21. 11/20 was actually sold out, however 11/21 felt more congested.

I also attended on 11/21. The park was really crowded up until about 7 pm, then things really cleared out. We had three FP+ to use before 7, and that took up the perfect amount of time. We only had enough time between FP windows to do one additional attraction and eat a snack. After 7, just about every ride we wanted to do was a walk on, except Peter Pan. We rode BTMRR 3 times in a row. We rode Splash Mtn twice in a row and didn't even have to get out of the log! I've been to the park many, many times and that has never happened for me on any ride!

I will say we did not do any of the meet and greets, and the only party-specific events we did were the fireworks (amazing!) and the (second) parade. We got great viewing spots for both with a minimum wait. The original plan was to stay until midnight, but we left after the second parade.

We went to the party on 11/16. I was really looking forward to it -- wanted to do it for years. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The park was barely decorated. It was absolutely packed. The parade route was more crowded than any other parade I've ever seen at WDW an hour before the parade started. And a lot of those in the crowd did not have wristbands. A lot. In fact, no one around us had a wristband at the parade. Although the CMs were trying to ask people to show their wristbands -- to the point where it got really annoying and some in our group felt like they were being harassed after we were asked no less than 10 times in 5 minutes -- we saw plenteeeeeeeeeeeeeee of people without wristbands there until well past 10pm. They would just ignore the CMs when they asked to see the wristbands and the CMs shrugged their shoulders and went on. I felt like we each wasted $71 and could have gotten in for free. The "warm cocoa" was lukewarm chocolate milk and not worth getting. The fireworks show was nothing more special than the regular Wishes show. The characters were cute. We had no idea about the Elsa Sorcerer's card. I wouldn't do it again; really not worth the money.
