Mickey's Very Merry Christmas? Is it worth it? What do you do, what happens?

I'll only say this once and hope not too many read this, 2 years ago DW and went to our first MVMCP, we walked into the park before the party started for ADR at LTT, after dinner, we walked to Main Street, and was taking in all the decorations, music and the Christmas feeling, snow was falling, and we both started crying....I'm starting just thinking about it. I'll be be back later.

DH and I are going ourselves. It's our "date" night. This is the kind of moment I am hoping for :goodvibes

Before this thread, I had decided to skip MVMCP. Now I am rethinking my plans.

We will be there Dec 16 - 26. My original thoughts were we could take in all the Christmas magic on Dec 24 when the parade and shows start running. By that time we would have done everything we wanted in the park and just focus on the special Christmas things.

What would we be missing if we don't go to MVMCP?

Which party night would you go to...Tues Dec 19, Thurs Dec 21 or Fri Dec 22?

By the way, I love Christmastime!

coming over from the uk we have got tickets for the 22nd Dec i always thought it was one of they "things" you can't miss out on. we are all looking forward to it well ... me mostly.
and my boys will be 16mths and 7 years so if the wee one feels tired he'll have is buggy with him to fall asleep.

I was wondering the same thing. I would like to know how early you could get in with the MVMCP ticket. Allears.net says that you could get in at 4PM. The person I spoke to when I bought the tickets said that they wont let you in til 7.

2 years ago we had to line up outside MK until they let us in at 7pm. I know if you have an ADR inside the park you can be in there dining, but I am not sure about how you get in early unless something has changed.

Because of this thread, we are now the owners of 3 tickets to Monday, 11-27 MVMCP. We absolutely love Christmas but was not sure how special they would make it for $120. Thanks for all the input and great detail of what a lovely night it must be. We are very excited and will definately hunt down the cookie and cocoa stations. ;)

That is when my DH and I are going!! So we will see you there. That day is our 24th anniv.!! And this is our first no kids trip!!

We couldn't go to WDW at Christmas time and not go to MVMCP!! We have been going every year for about 5 years now. It's a tradition with us. I can't resist the sights and sounds of the MK during the christmas party, the parade, the fireworks, the SNOW, free hot cocoa and cookies, and I've even seen all the Dumbos on the Dumbo ride wearing Santa hats! There's also nothing like seeing Cinderella's castle lit up with snowflakes!! Of course I love Christmas and I love Disney, to me there's nothing like the MVMCP!!

That's my sentiment, too. We have been going with a group of our 8 best friends for the last 5 years in early December. This year, one of our party, my very best friend, passed away of cancer in September. We hemmed and hawed if we should go. We all thought that Christy would kick our collective butts if we didn't, so we decided to all join up and continue the tradition. I think her DH will need this party this year, surrounded by his friends and the spirit of Christmas.

Pinnie - that's great that you'll all still be going!! I'm sure it will be a bittersweet time.

Hi suerob, since you are kind of an expert, can you tell me what you do first? in what order and the best way to see/do it all? A plan of action, if you will.

Thanks!

You get a schedule of events, and decide from there what you want to do. Some things run twice during the party, and usually the first shows/parades are more crowded, things clear out a bit the later it gets. Relax and enjoy, just like the regular parks, you can't do it all.

After reading this board, I think I have changed my mind about going. Need some advice though. We are doing the 7 day land and sea. 4 days at WDW, 3 days on the Cruise (Nov. 15-22). We are getting off of the cruise and going back to the CBR and flying home on Thanksgiving Day. What does everyone think about getting tickets for the MVMCP on that Wednesday evening? That would give us time to get back to the hotel and then go finish the trip with a Christmas theme the day before Thanksgiving?
Also, where do I go to get tickets or a phone number I call.
Thanks,
Kim

The dates for MVMCP are November 13, 17, 27, 28 & 30, so you wouldn't be able to do it the night you return from the cruise. You could do it on the 17th though. Whatever you decide, all the info and telephone number is here: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wd...ickeysVeryMerryChristmasPartySpecialEventPage
