Mickey's Very Merry Christmas? Is it worth it? What do you do, what happens?

I have tickets for 2 nights this year! How crazy is that?

We went 2 years ago and at first I hated it, Main Street was so crowded, jammed packed. but once the crowd dispersed it was awesome, we did tons of rides with hardly any wait. We saw the parade over by pecos bills, saw the christmas country bear jamboree, and walked down main street with the snow falling :)

Never did see cookies or cocoa though, where was that at? This year I will be sure to locate it.

Like I said, I have 2 nights booked - we won't stay until the very end, just get in a few hours of extra magic. I would recommend you try it if it doesn't put a financial strain on you, it is meant to be fun, not cause you hardship.

Check the map (the special MVMCP map) when you get in. It has the cocoa and cookie locations. They're normally tucked inside of a building (not out in the open).

Last year one was in the Golden Horseshoe.

Thanks, I'll be sure to find it this year!

Oh and another thing I wanted to say was everyone was dressed chrismassy, with santa hats, christmas sweat shirts, it was really nice. We had a particularly chilly night and bought mitts (they were selling)

My DD wore her stitch santa hat, it was just a lot of holiday fun :goodvibes

The location we got them was between adventureland and frontieland. Do you know where I'm talking about because I don't! :rotfl: It was a big open hall with staircases on either side on the back wall. I'm curious to know what this place was. I wasn't paying attention and it had been a while since I'd been to WDW

Our last night is the first night this year, so we decided to go. Do you suppose it will be extra busy because it's the first party of the year, or slower because it's only the second week in Nov?

What day of the week is it on?

Is that the old Diamond Horseshoe restaurant? This website has park map but no special event maps. You know where to find any?

We are going for the first time this year on 11/17 I hope it is as wonderful as it sounds we love the Christmas season too!!!!

Because of this thread I'm now debating on whether or not to go to Disney at our normal time (late Sept) or to go in early Dec. Hmm..... MVMCP just sounds like so much fun and Christmas is HUGE for me. I'm going to be analyzing this like a freak now!

Because of this thread, we are now the owners of 3 tickets to Monday, 11-27 MVMCP. We absolutely love Christmas but was not sure how special they would make it for $120. Thanks for all the input and great detail of what a lovely night it must be. We are very excited and will definately hunt down the cookie and cocoa stations. ;)

Good for you JMC, have fun! Just don't get discouraged by the crowds initially, it takes a while for everyone to spread out. we really liked Splash Mountain and were able to go on it over and over with no wait.

I just read through everyone's posts, and it's made me even more excited for my upcoming trip. I have MVMCP tix for me and my DF on 12/19 (Tuesday). Do any of you veteran party goers have any idea if it will be crowded (not that it will matter too much to me!)? Also, I'm wondering whether or not I should use my admission to MK that day in addition to having MVMCP tix? Finally, if I do go to MK that day, where do I get my wristband for the party later on? As you can tell this is my first time doing the Christmas thing in Disney, so I'm quite confused, and could use all the advice I could get! Thanks, you guys are great! :goodvibes

I'll only say this once and hope not too many read this, 2 years ago DW and went to our first MVMCP, we walked into the park before the party started for ADR at LTT, after dinner, we walked to Main Street, and was taking in all the decorations, music and the Christmas feeling, snow was falling, and we both started crying....I'm starting just thinking about it. I'll be be back later.

I am going to the party on December 5th. It sounds so much fun. :goodvibes

Okay, that does it....if we don't go next year during the month of December we will on the next trip. What you said was all I needed to hear! Thank you SO much!!

We are planning on going after our cruise but it is the same night that everyone from Mousefest apparently is as well. What are the chances of it being sold out soon?

I am organizing the family (14 adults, 4 children) vacation and I don't know if everyone will buy their tickets in advance. If we buy the tix and the weather doesn't cooperate, we can't use them for the next night, right?

I'm so torn!! :furious:

We are going on Dec 21. Its our last full day of our vacation. It will be my first time at the party because its also my first time at disney period!!

My DD insisted that I reply to this thread, because MVMCP has become a family tradition. :goodvibes

In addition to the "snow" (actually tiny soap bubbles), parade (which runs twice), fireworks, cocoa & cookies and rides, there are special Christmas shows, one at Cinderella castle, (an early and a late if I remember right), another at the stage in Tomorrowland, carolers, character greeting, and they had photographers on hand who took a picture which they sent to us later. Look for the special buttons and pins. The pins are exclusive to the party, and you have to purchase them but the buttons were "free".

Many, many people dress in the spirit of the season and everything is so festive. We dressed in Santa hats and scarves last year...it was chilly and drizzly that evening and we were glad to have them. DH doesn't care for parades or fireworks, so we sent him off to ride Buzz Lightyear to his heart's content while the kids and I enjoyed these special events together. I noticed that around 11 pm there were a lot of little ones sleeping in strollers, passed out while the older kids (and kids at heart) enjoyed the late evening. We love to go in late November/early December, and always attend MVMCP. Our first time we also got a PS for LTT, and then stepped out to enjoy the party.

JMCDisneyBound, we will be there the exact same time as you (!) but we have tickets for the 11/28 party. Enjoy!

nittanyliongirl02, they have the wristbands at several locations in the park, one is at the front, another is at the old timekeeper area. Don't worry about it, you won't have any trouble finding it, just have your MVMCP ticket available. They won't let you stay if you don't have it, and they will direct you to the nearest location.

It is a Monday night, November 13. We have tickets that night too. Will it be very crowded? Only2 weeks away!!!! :Pinkbounc :dance3: :bounce:

:santa: This will be our 2nd visit to the party. Hubby and I both love it. It is the one place that we truly get to feel the joy of the season. We will be there for the last night on Dec. 22nd as this is the day we arrive in Orlando for two weeks. We have PS at LTT for early dinner before the party. We love the snow on mainstreet, the music, shows, lights, decorations, the parades and fireworks. Seeing people dressed in Christmasy outfits and the characters in their christmas costumes is awesome. It just makes the holidays feel so magical. We get to feel like kids again at Christmas if only for a little while.

Aren't those marching toy soldiers/nut cracker guys great as they march inthe parade. I loved that part. It was really a lot of fun except the kids complained a bit because they were loving the no wait at Splash Mountain and wanted to leave.

I missed the special shows, this year I really need to pay more attention to what is going on.
