Don't you hate it when a family plops down in the middle of the row and the rest of the people following behind have to scoot around them, knocking knees and trying not to trip? I find this really rude. Should it happen to you and you happen to have gas................. while your behind is right in their face (BECAUSE THEY sat down ignoring CM's)......well, just do what comes natural. :rolleyes1

That has never happened to me becaues the CMs always make them move. I would absolutely refuse to pass them if they aren't following the CMs instructions. It's not my resposibility to pass them.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I agree with you, I hate it too! Especially when these same people have pushed in front of me to get in first!

I just won't pass them...I stand there...The CM always gets them to move.

The gas idea is a good one. But, I generally try to collide with the legs of the adult male in the party. Knee to knee.

i turn around to my kids and say in a loud voice, come on kids we are supposed to move to the end like they told us and then just stare at the group that sat down. is that rude??

I don't think it's rude, but I also doubt it will really have much effect on the people sitting in the middle. They will either pretend they don't speak or understand English, or they just simply don't care.

This seems to be an issue mostly at the more crowded times of year. Even when we were there over Thanksgiving, well, from the week-end following T-Day,...the shows weren't so crowded that it made a difference. Philharmagic seemed to be the worst. We also like to sit more toward the middle. Our strategy?? We sit toward the back of the theater. Most people don't seem to like to sit back there.

However, when we have been there and it is crowded, and people insist on sitting plop in the middle of the row...we excuse ourselves as we tromp on their feet....'oops, sorry about that, oops, sorry..just trying to follow the instructions..oh, sorry..was that your foot?'

It always amazes me...there are really no bad seats in these places. And those that have moved on down the row, as directed, are the first out. It's incredible to see those that have insisted on sitting smack in the middle, making the rest of us crawl over them, try to get out first..past those of us that had to climb over the squatters to get to our end of row seats. You would think that they would learn that those end of row seats exit first. Now, that's a primo seat if you ask me!!!

It's not rude, necessarily, but it is ineffective. The family who sat down may not understand -- there are a lot of people who visit WDW who don't have a solid command of English -- or they simply may not care. Pushing past them and loudly mocking them doesn't make any difference to them. They still get the seats they wanted, and you've done exactly what they wanted you to do. You've let them stay there.

If your point is to actually force these folks to move, when you get to a family who has plopped down in the middle of a row, simply stop when you get to them. If you don't move past them, and a line forms behind you, the CM will notice, and s/he will repeat the "move to the end of the row" rule. If the family still doesn't move, I've seen CM's actually come to the family in question and personally escort them to the end of the row.

:earsboy:

Here's a funny thing--when we were there the week after Easter, we were one of the last people to enter and the only place to sit were 4 seats, right smack in the center of about the 7th row back! We just excused ourselves all the way to great seats!

Back in March I saw this happened every show I saw. Only one family seemed that they could not comprehend ENGLISH all others spoke it very well. I loved it when a woman "accidently" spilled baby formula on the male head of the groups lap. This happened at Philamagic. I laughed out and it felt great to laugh since I had a cold. Maybe I should of sneezed on them.

This has not happened to us. I would just say, "You're supposed to go to the end of the row please" and if they didn't, I'd stand there, and motion for a CM if I could; however, dh would be saying, c'mon, it's not a big deal! I know it's not... it's the principle of the thing.

I may have "accidentally" stepped on a foot or two myself... :rolleyes1

This happened to us at the American Adventure show in Epcot. A single guy just decided to stop where he wanted and take a seat. I told him that he needed to continue down to the end of the row and he totally ignored me. Maybe he didn't speak English, but even if he didn't, you would think he would at least acknowledge that I was trying to tell him something. Nope...he acted like I was not even there. So DH and I just sat next to him. Granted we probably should have gone to the end of the row but I was not thinking clearly since this guy had me so mad. Another man behind us started yelling at us for sitting down! Again, I know we should have stepped over him but the guy who yelled at us knew we were trying to do the right thing and getting nowhere so why make us the bad guys????

:confused3 I cannot believe that so many of you choose to be as rude as the people sitting down in the middle of the row! What purpose does it serve to stomp peoples' feet, sneeze on them, spill things on them, pass gas at them? You are no better than those sitting in the middle of the row! Why don't you just move past them and take pride in the fact that you can follow directions and not offend people? Does it take more time to be polite than it takes to be just as rude as others? :confused3
