Mickey's Philharmagic

it is one of the better 3D/4D films out there, a must see, IMO alot better than honey I shrunk the audience, this as dated badly, I first saw it at disneyland paris in 1999. Shrek 4D is another must do attraction

We saw it when it first opened in WDW and loved it.

We've been back many times since and always go to see it several times on each visit.

Now, even though wicket got her Philhar-thingys and Fantasmi-thingys muddled up, she does make a good point about things being over-hyped. The more something is built up, the greater chance of disappointment.

This is so true! I think the majority of times people on these boards are disappointed with meals, resorts, attractions and other things it's because people write about stuff like it's the best thing they have ever experienced.

Dole Whips- my WDW vacation and life would not be complete without this pineapple ambrosia from the gods...

Baggalini- if you get one to carry your stuff in your whole vacation will be complete. There is no other way to carry stuff as excellent as this bag.

'Ohana- We never miss this restaurant. It's the best food we've ever had. And the scalloped potatoes were so good we asked for three more helpings.

LeCellier- You cannot get steak anywhere in the world as good as this. And you will probably shed tears of joy when you take your first bite of cheddar cheese soup.

I know we all come here for advice and opinions, as well as sharing our love of WDW but sometimes the bar on things is set so high there is no way to not be disappointed. I try really hard to keep an open mind about stuff, so I don't have overly high expectations. I still do sometimes though. And sometimes my mind boggles as to what other people think is good. That's why it's nice there is such a diverse array of things at WDW- something for everyone.

BTW Paul, to answer your question you must see Mickey's PhilharMagic it's the best show ever!!! :thumbsup2

;) Actually you should see it once to see if you like it. We do, very much.

Fantastic analogy, Richard. My personal favourite:

I have numerous examples of when my experiences haven't matched those of my fellow DISers - Fantasmic and Cirque du Soleil spring immediately to mind. The one that really baffles me, though, is Beaches and Cream. I stood outside this tiny little hole in the wall hash house absolutely convinced it couldn't possibly be the oft-eulogised nirvana I'd read about on these boards. :confused3

I think the main thing is to give things a go and form your own opinions. However, I do get frustrated when people don't try other parks like Universal/Islands/Sea World and keep to Disney which is fine if you don't want to travel. God knows I am not brave enough to drive over there and probably if I went by myself would stay firmly entrenched in one world or the other.:) I just hate to think of people missing out.

I think my biggest let down was Fantasmic, especially after I had made the kids and hubbie wait for it. I enjoyed it but no way as much as I thought I was going to, but then each to their own.

Wouldn't it be really salty if you did this?:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Cafe Mickey's Fantasia Mushrroms at DLRP is one of those let downs. I was gutted.

Things have changed a lot in 6 years since we last went so we are looking forward to seeing how things have changed etc. But I've never had a planning forum before to help me lol.

Thanks everyone, really enjoyed reading your views :)

Im easily pleased, so I dont think there's any danger of me overestimating how good things are going to be ;)

It's a 3-D animated compilation which follows Donald's attempts to retrieve Sorcerer Mickey's hat.

Sounds alot more coherent than Fantasia :lmao:

As you enter the holding area, move towards the right-hand side to make sure you're near the back when you move into the theatre.

Great tip, thanks Deb! :thumbsup2

Hi, yeah my dh loves fantasia but there's not enough story to keep my attention. I love mickeys philharmagic because it made up of most of my favourite disney tunes - it's music you know and LOVE! It is also funny, which is a bonus. It has a wonderful feel good factor and is one of the shows that we see several times each trip. I can't rate it highly enough!

Im a 24 year old bloke and have to say its probably my fave attraction in all the parks! I love all the songs and if nothing else its great to see bits of your fave Disney films on a big screen again :dance3:

Not sure if my fiancee liked it quite as much as me but i think she may have just been jealous whenever i got over excited about seeing Tink and Aerial up close in 3d!
