Mickey's not so scary halloween party

I was wondering if it would be worth the money to go to the Mickey's not so scary halloween party? Especially since we are not bringing our kids to Disney. Is it more of a kids event?

Guess its really up to how you feel about Halloween. We went a couple years back and dressed up in costumes and had a blast! Alot of the other guests both grown up and kids were all in costumes and there are events that are only available during the party. Special versions of Wishes and the parades, the characters out in special Haloween costumes. You can get special pictures with Cinderellas coach and the Hitchhiking ghosts.

It is actually fabulous for adults. My DH and I go every time we are there in Oct. for our anniversary. After 10 pm, many of the families with small ones have left the park and riding the rides is easy. The parade is great. We actually like it a bit more than the Christmas Party. I guess because of the costumes. I would recommend eating at one of the MK locations around 4:30 or 5 so you can walk out and enjoy the fun at 7 p.m. We ususally do LTT. Also go on a week night if possible, I don't know what the dates are this year. Have fun!

We went while on our honeymoon last year and had a great time. We also found there were hardly any lines for the rides during the parades. Definitely worth it even if you don't have kids.

we're in our mid 20s and loved it. We dressed up, went trick or treating and watched the parades/shows/fireworks and rode the rides w/o any wait. It was fun! There were plenty of adults wearing costumes, that makes it funner!

My husband and I live locally and are (cough,cough) early 60's and we go a couple of nights every year.

The costumes are wonderful! The kids (while they last :rotfl) are having such fun. And the rides are mostly walk-ons. It is the absolutely best time to ride Peter Pan!

DH and I went last year and had a blast. We dressed as pirates. The lines for the rides were almost nonexistant and the parade is the best I highly recommend it-I'm jealous that I can't go this year

I was going to go to epcot that night, but maybe, I will replan the trip...

Please go if you can and "Watch for the Headless Horseman", he steals the show and is worth the admission price IMO.

Can you pay at the gate for the not so scary halloween party? If so does any-one know how much it is roughly?

We are staying at AKL from 3rd Oct and originally was not going to go to the not so scary party, but I think there is a party on the first day that we are there and reading about it on here it sounds fab.

You can pay at the gate, it costs a bit more - I am thinking about $5 a person more than advance purchase. This, of course, assumes they are not "sold out" for the night. I don't really see this being a problem.

I agree that it all depends on how much you like Halloween. We love it to begin with so we went to the party in October 2007 and loved it so much that we are planning to go back in 2009...and we're planning to go to MNSSHP twice on that trip! We are two adults, in our 20's, and had a fantastic time. They give out tons of candy, plus there are special character meet & greets and Photopass spots, and awesome decorations! Hallowishes and the Boo To You Parade alone make the price more than worth it!

I'm a huge planner, and love using my past experiences for reference, but we've never been at Disney during this time, so I'm not really sure what to expect. We're planning on going to MNSSHP 9/5-(the first night it's open.) Any suggestions on things that we should make sure not to miss, and/or things we should? Also, does anyone know when Disney starts putting up there Halloween decorations? We're going 8/30/08-9/6/08, and I'd like to get some pictures of the "regular" Disney, but I'm thinking we may be too late for that?

I would go! We had so much fun when we went--it's a whole different experience than going during regular park hours.

Okay, so I swapped days, and purchased the tickets. We decided to go to this and drop the spirit of aloha dinner instead. Now, I just need costume ideas, not much room in the suitcase due to all the wedding stuff. Any small costume ideas?

My family and I are going to MNSSHP this year, too! My DD7 will be dressed as Alice (Alice in Wonderland) and the rest of us will be her supporting cast. My daughter is in full costume, but we bought custom t-shirts from Disney/Zazzle.com with pictures of our characters on them and a quote from the character on the back. We'll wear them with an appropriate hat. For instance, I'm going as the Cheshire Cat and my t-shirt has a picture of the Cheshire Cat on the front, literally standing on top of his head. The back says, "Can you stand on your head?". I'll wear it with some cat ears, and I'm good to go. My mom and dad are going as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, my husband is the Mad Hatter, my brother is the White Rabbit and my sis-in-law the Queen of Hearts. It's pretty easy to pack a t-shirt! Have fun!

My DH and I are 30-somethings and are going in Sept. for our first MNSSHP. We have heard from pretty much EVERYONE that we will enjoy ourselves...
and we're not even dressing up.

I'm looking forward to watching Hallowishes, seeing the Haunted Mansion lit up for Halloween...and all of the free candy!
(I've heard tell of a Teacup full of candy!)

I also can't wait to see the Headless Horseman!

Well, I found a shirt at tj maxx which looks like a puffy shirt and I ordered a swashbuckler hat online and I will wear capris. So I will have a semi pirate outfit.

We are going to the party on two nights.........9/5 and 9/12.....not sure about costumes yet for my sons, ages 4 and soon to be 2......and not sure about costumes for my husband and I, but like the idea of the t-shirts! I will have to check out zazzle? .com
Anybody know what kind of candy disney gives out?
