Hi fellow Disney lovers! Quick question for a first timer at MNSSHP: what time does the Magic Kingdom Main Street bypass road (the one that runs parallel to Main Street) open for party guests? As annual pass holders, we were going to try to miss the craziness of a 4pm arrival for the party and show up around 3pm. However, we still want to get the party map, wristbands, treat bags, and other items that are distributed along the bypass road. Better yet, is there a devoted entrance to the party for annual pass holders or DVC members that would also alleviate the mass of crowds at the entrance at 4pm? Thanks for the help!

You don't need to go to the bypass road to get the map wristbands and treat bags. If you are in the parks earlier in the day on a pass or regular day ticket, there are stations where you can go to get your wristband, treat bag, and map. We usually go to the one set up in tomorrowland. In our experience, they usually start scanning and doing the wristbands at the in park stations around 3:00. The only other item along the bypass road in our experience is a single treat station where they give you your first candy if you are trick or treating. For us, it definitely is not worth going up to the front of the park with the influx of people at 4:00 p.m. for that. One thing you might want if you are interested in the sorcerer's card and party merchandise, is to go up to the fire station and the emporium. If I remember right, when we went last year we were able to get the party card and to shop for the MNSSHP merchandise before 4:00 p.m., as long as we had our party wristband. I think one year, they made us wait until 4:00 to get the merchandise. We usually get our bands in Tomorrowland and head that way----- or get our bands and head for Jack and Sally's line.

As you are AP holders, I would highly recommend getting there early and getting the wristbands at one of the stations in the back of the park. You might even aim for 2 or 2:30, because that definitely should get you there before the 4:00 p.m. crowd starts lining up. We usually go to 2 or 3 parties on our trips because we love MNSSHP. We tend to spend the morning in the park- have lunch- and then go to the resort to change and come back. We have never had any trouble entering in costume before 4:00 p.m. on MNSSHP days.

We went to the second party last year and arrived just before 2 pm to go into the park (we went in on a regular day ticket). At that time, they were about to let DVC MNSSHP holders in as they could enter as early as 2 pm. They had a dedicated entrance for them at the right-hand side tapstiles. The bypass was not open at 2 pm and, if memory serves, did not open until 4 pm when they allowed all ticket holders to enter the park. We always go to the party early (before 4 pm) and simply get our wristbands, treat bags and maps at one of the dedicated MNSSHP check-in areas inside the park (typically in Tomorrowland, Adventureland and Fantasyland). You do miss out on going through the bypass, but you can absolutely enter as early as you'd like on your AP and then get your party items inside the park, thereby, completely bypassing the crowds entering the park at 4 pm.

Thanks so much guys! I didn't realize that you also received the treat bags and maps at the stations throughout the park. I thought they only gave out the wristbands. This makes things so much easier!
