Mickey Mail for room only reservations? A silly little thing, but...UPDATE, got it!

Do you only get the welcome packet with dates to remember and a booklet about your trip/hotel if you book a package?

I booked room only for the first time and I only got confirmation emails talking about the hotel I chose, reminder me to book ADRs, etc. Then in the mail I just confirmation of actual booking/deposit paid.

It's not a big deal, just wondering if I lose out on the fun mail because I didn't book a package?

I just received that little booklet last week for a DVC stay in September, so definitely not a package. For me, they seem to be hit or miss.

Maybe also because we have booked for 2020 and the new prices/packages aren't even ready yet...

Possibly. That's pretty far away so the information might change.

We just received a booklet for an upcoming room only stay.

I got them for my 2 upcoming RO stays - both on the same day though one is in July and one in September and both booked at separate times. So random!

I booked a pkg and a rm only resv for our next trip. They sent me two booklets about 3 weeks apart.

They must batch-process these. I got two on the same day for two September reservations at the same resort, one of which I had cancelled a couple weeks previously (I had some trouble deciding which dates I liked better so held both for a bit).

Getting them at all is hit or miss. I have never booked a package. I get them about half the time.

The thing you are not going to get is the envelope that has your luggage tags and coupons. Otherwise, you get the same things someone booking a package gets.

I think the luggage tags might be hit or miss too because I have gotten them for all but one trip and they have all been room only (no coupons though).

Oh, to be clear, I mean the decorative luggage tags that are only given with packages. Room only bookings don't get them at all. Not talking about the ME bag tags.
As someone who has an AP and books room only we have never gotten the decorative bag tags. Which I remain quite bitter about, LOL

If you are talking about the luggage tags with mickey, minnie, donald, etc. on them and the space where you write your address on the back, those are the ones we have gotten. Maybe I wasn't supposed to but I even called the one time that we didn't get them and they mailed me a bunch out separately. maybe we've just gotten lucky

I got mail for my DVC stay in April, but not my TA booked night at POR.

That initial packet is very hit or miss. We get them about 50% of the time. We booked for this summer and then changed our reservation (within a couple days). We received the book for our initial reservation, but not the updated reservation with the new dates.
