I followed the link to your LOs on 2Peas. They're beautiful!

May I ask where you got those really cute Mickey icons you used in your LOs? I couldn't tell if they were stamps, stickers or die cuts. There was a walking Mickey, the "normal" Mickey icon as well as one in profile where you can see his nose, some of Pooh...I've never seen anything like them.

Also, where did you get the fun fur & do you have any tips on using it?

Does anyone else have any tips on using the fun fur & other fibers? I'm also very interested in how you all use vellum & chalk.

WOW!! Thank you SO MUCH!! :cloud9:

The walking Mickey, profile Mickey and the small Mickey head are all punches that I got at Michaels! The Pooh face, small Pooh (entire body) and Pooh and Piglet holding hands also came from Michaels. They also have them at Mousememories.com. Just do a search under punches! I also have a swirl Mickey head punch. My DH found it on some website. It tends to stick though, so I don't use it much!

I get the fun fur at Michaels and A C Moore. I use it on tags, around pictures and across the entire page! (My SIL just gave my girls BEAUTIFUL scarves that she knitted out of fun fur! Which is probably what it's intended for!! LOL!)

I use vellum and transparencies for journaling. I have also used vellum over a blurry picture. The vellum makes it look "mysterious"!! I LOVE transparencies for journalling, it looks like it was printed right on whatever I adhere it to!!

I use chalks to embellish my die cuts, add a little something to the edges of vellum, matting, torn paper, etc.

I will let you know if I think of any other uses!!

Thanks again! You made my day!!

I noticed the swirl Mickey's but thought they were made from 3 single swirls you just arranged as a Mickey head. You don't remember what brand the punches were do you? I thought I'd looked at all their punches - & those at AC Moore as well - but I didn't see any Disney ones. Were they with the scrapping supplies - or in another area of the store?

Thanks for the ideas! I'm starting to get a good idea of how I want to lay out a few of my pages. I picked up a few interesting papers before C'mas but wasn't really sure what to do with them. The only crop I'd been to was a CM one & I didn't really think that I wanted to cut them up for mats or small shapes (cut-outs). Seeing your pages made it much clearer to me what I can do with them.

DD also got some of that yarn from a friend - I didn't realize it was called "fun fur" - so that's another mystery cleared up! ;) I think I understand about the chalk & vellum now, too.

I just thought of another question...Do you ever use embossing powder with your scrapping? I got DDIL an embossing template for her Sizzix for C'mas, but was thinking that I have some stamps that would be great for some LOs if you can do that.

One last thing - how do you attach the non-scrapping items like buttons?

I have been wanting that swirl Mickey punch - do you not recommend it then? Is it hard to use? Just wondering if I should get it or not. While it looks very cute if it isn't that great to use . . .

Thanks!

The manufacturer for the punches is "All Night Media, Inc.". I also have a jumping Tigger that I don't think I've used yet! The Disney punches are with all the other shape punches, I think in Michaels they are near the stamps.

I still haven't crossed over into the "embossing" world!!! I just know it will cost me MORE MONEY!! Although me and my friend were "scrap" shopping once and were saying how cool it looked, but we didn't know how to do it . . . etc. Well, a lady in the isle was like, "You don't use embossing in your scrapbooks?!? You don't know what you're missing!!" OH MAN!! :guilty:

I attach my non-scrapping stuff with glue dots. They work GREAT!! I ordered them off QVC, then saw them in AC Moore and I'm sure Michaels has them, too. Pop Dots would probably work, as well!!

Make sure you post your pages when they are completed!!

Cobbler:

I do like the Mickey Head Swirl Punch, but once you press down to punch the paper, it's EXTREMELY hard to get the punch to snap back open. I've tried banging it REALLY hard, that worked once or twice, but most of the time I had to stick my tweezers between the punch and the paper and twist to get it to pop back open. This usually marks up the paper near the swirls. (I am anal about my pages and this DRIVES ME CRAZY!!!) I have heard others complain of the same problem, so it's not just my punch. I was going to exchange it until I heard that they all have this problem! So I kept it and use it once in a while!!

If you are a DISNEYFREAK like me, you will get it because you need to have all the Disney stuff!!! ::yes:: No matter how much use it gets! Hee! Hee!

I knew I needed to make a trip to Michael's this week! ;) DDIL's b'day is in 2 weeks so I should be able to get 2 coupon trips in before then. Disney punches would make a nice addition to her scrapping supplies I think. :teeth:

I wasn't sure if glue dots would hold something as heavy as buttons. So that's good to know. I had gotten some really cute heart & star buttons at Michael's before Christmas, but DH must have wrapped them. They were supposed to be split between DD & DDIL and I don't see any here. DDIL must have gotten them all - so I'll need to replace them. I saw Scrabble tiles at Wal-Mart the other day but didn't get them as I wasn't sure how to attach them. I guess I need another trip to Wal-Mart as well.

I hope it gets warm tomorrow so I can get down there! :teeth:

Thanks for all the help!

I got most of my Disney punches from www.allnightmedia.com. I didn't buy the Mickey swirl punch because so many people have said that it sticks so I just bought a mini swirl punch and a small swirl punch at Michael's. They work great. Disneyfreakjackie your pages are awesome.

Thank you!! You guys make me feel so good!! This is the BEST board here on the DIS!! The others can get NASTY which in turn makes me NASTY right back!! NOT GOOD!!

I've got to stop spending so much time on here and start scrapping again!! :cool1:
