There are usually two different versions; the mortarboard with ears coming out of it, and the regular ears wearing a mortarboard. The former can't be embroidered and the latter was sold out last year when we went the first week of June. So, it's a good idea to purchase them in advance.

Are they selling them in the parks now? My son is graduating in June but we are celebrating over Spring break next month and I wanted to get him one then.

Good info to have. Last year they sold us the first one at that little shop outside World Showcase, telling us to take it up to mousegears to have it embroidered. When we got up front with the already-bought hat, we found out it couldn't be done :/

I called merchandise guest services this week. You can get the regular ears with the graduation hat on top by calling them now ($16.95). The other hat, the blue mortarboard with ears on top they expect to have in next week($26.95). They said the first one is already in the parks. The number to call is 1-877-560-6477. This is less expensive then you can buy them on yourwdwstore.net

Not sure, but two years ago in March I picked up a pair for my daughter that graduated HS that June. If things haven't changed, you'll probably be able to find them. (I think I picked them up at World of Disney, but don't hold me to that...)

We got our son's in DTD over Spring Break the year he graduated.

if you buy the reg ears with grad hat you can have it embroidered, the mortarboard one you can't

I ordered the graduation hat this morning on Disneystore.com. I am waiting to hear if i can get the name put on it when I get into the parks in June.

I ordered mine from Amazon 3 years ago and it was great. When I got to the parks they embroidered them for me, the lady said as they were clearly official ears they would be able to do it for me. If one place says no, try another.

Silly question, should i bring the receipt with me to show them I brought the hat with me?

no receipt i just walked up with the ears, its clear that they are disney ears and they are probably given as gifts quite often so I dont imagine running into too many problems, I had mine done by the hat people in the Philarmagic shop but if one says no just try another

My daughter had hers embroidered with her name and we purchased through Disney Shopping. So glad we did as they were sold out in the parks! Funny thing was the following year we repeated it for my son and they were still for sale everywhere!!!
