So...for the first time in our household the other day...we got a fish...well two. Actually..it was the first time we have EVER had a pet in our house...EVER. A swordtail fish...and a Mickey Mouse fish...
See the Mickey on his tail? Yeah, well our Mickey symbol was even darker and more pronounced...we named him Mickey...obviously. Well to me...he always looked sad and kinda lost. I mean, how would you feel if you were taken away from everything you knew and thrown into solitary confinement with one other strange fish of a different species? It's awful enough. Then our water is kinda sucky...I guess it smells funny (according to my mom)...
Well, despite my promises to myself that I wouldn't...I got attached to this little fish...
And now...he's dead. Mom found him floating on the top of the tank, and then he pummeled to the bottom right in front of her eyes.
What a terrible watery grave...suddenly not being able to breath, or being so depressed or traumatized...dying alone in a fish tank surrounded by big huge people.
Poor Mickey...and now that he's dead...I'm sad. The first loss of our first pet so quickly. I can't even say that he lived a good life, because it was so short and so full of changing locations...
Poor poor Mickey..not to mention the Disney connotations...
Death sucks and now I'm very sad.
So anyways...this is dead serious and it's over a stupid fish...sigh.
It doesn't help that my little brother (11) doesn't get it (the seriousness of the loss of anything's life) and thinks it's kinda funny and just wants to get another one...but it's not his fault...he's still young.
So...loss of pet tales anyone? Or just words of comfort for poor Mickey?

poor little Mickey! May he rest in peace in fish heaven!
but we had this fish who we were told would live up to 6 months lived for
And it was really fat. It lasted like 2 or 3 years.
I am amazed at the size of her.
