Mickey Antanne Topper Halloween Costume?

Ok, DS (8) thinks he wants to be a Micky antenne topper for Halloween. I"m having a tough time trying to figure out how to make this. Any suggestions from all you creative folks out there?

hmmm. you've made me think....well his legs would have to be in black to represent the antenne. and you coudl do the black arms and white gloves for mickey...but you've got me totally stumped for the body.


wait! i've got it i think. get a hula hoop and whatever color fabric he wants for his mickeys body adn put a drawsting or velcro around his neck. two holes in the bottom, and wait im stumped again for the middle. sorry, my drugs make me kinda loopy! lol k so have the hoop in the middle, and cover it with the fabric- almost like looping it through a waist line of jeans. you'd have to make the loops inside. then it should be almost round.

i'm thinking pumpkin shaped like costume, but the colors of the antenna ball. sons legs and head silverish to represent the antenna itself with a cylinder like hat to look like the top of the antenna.

yeah thats kinda the shape i was meaning with the hula hoop- really hard to explain! lol i think you coudl skip the head part of the antenna tho- as the topper covers that part up.

Ok Sew a tee shirt to a long sleaved shirt at the top. Suff it with cotton, sew the bottom shut (so you have you ball shape) white gloves, Sliver leggings or pants. As for his "ears" I would use that fat foam from the craft store. You know the stuff for couch cushions? then just paint it black and attach it to a strechy headband so they stay on.

That's a cute idea... I thought about this in a different direction... let's see if I can explain.

Mickey antenne topper - that is his head - round something with ears.
Shirt - white with a stripe down the front to represent the antenne
Bottom of shirt or trousers - car representation - something that looks or is shaped like a car.

Does this make sense?

(I am envisioning him standing there bottom half still and waving his head like how the toppers do...hehe)

DO a google search for Monsters Inc. Mike Wazowski costumes. I wanted my DS to be Mike for this hallowwen and DD to be Boo (she's a spitting image) but DS wasn't buying it. No, he wanted to be Randall - the guy with 50 arms!
Anyhow, I saw several websites on using a blow up ball and paper mache for the Mike body. It would work perfectly for an antenna topper!
