Mickey and the Monduhrail! The Stitchs' World Tour! Update 11/1!

Photo0215FourBySix.jpg

This is a great picture of the three of you! :)

You can't tell that D had a traumatic morning at all!

Two weeks? Oh my goodness! Didn't you feel terrible? I know I did. I remember the tech who took the x-ray was putting it up on the screen for the doctor, and I asked, "Is it broken?" She just looked at me and made this face, and I just knew! I felt horrible!

Oh, yeah. TERRIBLE. Even more so when the pediatrician mentioned that the bones had already started to heal... meaning if they weren't healing properly, there was a chance the ortho would have to RE-BREAK the bones in order to set them. :faint: Thank the Lord that was not the case!

Columbia Harbour House is my favorite QS in MK too! I love getting a table upstairs!

D's stormtrooper shirt is AWESOME :thumbsup2

I'm with ya on that woman throwing a fit about the FPs. I probably wouldn't have been able to hold my tongue especially if I was feeling bad for the CM. Sheesh, I mean it says right there in LARGE FONT! :lmao:

We always sit upstairs too! It's so relaxing, and never crowded! I loved D's shirt, too. He doesn't know what a stormtrooper IS, but Brian is a big Star Wars person, so he loves it too! I am like you about the FP's. Why can people not read?

happy your afternoon got better and had a yummy lunch...haven't eaten there since I don't care of seafood, but maybe I could get the kids chicken :thumbsup2
cute photo at the hub, D is working those shades :cool1:

They have some great non-seafood dishes! They even have a cold chicken/crackers/cheese meal. It looks terrific! Yes, D milked his tragic morning to get to wear Bri's shades! :rotfl2:

That lady in the WTP FP line has no excuse for that outburst. She should know how to read. I am glad she finally got out of your way. Great shots of D in front of the castle. It seems like he was already over Splash Mountain.

By the way, Crap tricked Xander into riding ToT. He called it the elevator ride. Xander was excited to ride it, because he loves elevators. After he rode it, he said, “I like elevators but not elevator rides.” I am very proud of the fact that he is mostly brave about trying new rides. As soon as we are done, he says he does not want to ride again though. I wish Xander liked something other than milk or water too, especially since he is allergic to milk. We’ve even tried the non-milks, but he can always tell the difference. Connor does not like cow’s milk so far. He is iffy on Pediasure while Xander absolutely hates it.

I completely understand Xander's feeling! D will ride whatever ONCE (like Xander), but he is not much for doing it again if he doesn't like it. Some stuff, though, he blatantly refuses! I have tried juice and other stuff with D. The only other thing I can get him to drink is decaf sweet tea. So, I stick with milk and water most of the time. My niece loves Pediasure! She doesn't do milk, so that's her go-to beverage!

You are so right about the WTP woman. I kept thinking, "Really??? Move along, lady!!"

I also think CHH is the best counter service in the MK. I finally managed to get my greedy little hands on the lobster roll this past trip and it was really good! I too had to eat it with a fork first because it was so overstuffed. :lmao:

It's funny how many people just don't look at things or read them or whatever, and then completely freak out over things. We also got those free Philharmagic FPs and it could not have been more clear with the Pooh FP machine spit them out that they were a BONUS and NOT for Winnie the Pooh. :rotfl: People kind of amaze me.

Nice update--so glad your day started to look up again! Can't wait to hear about your fun at the pool! :)

It was definitely picking up! Those lobster rolls ROCK! I can't wait to get one next time! People definitely amaze me too. I cannot understand seeing that it's on there (even if you missed it at first) and then throwing a FIT! I really did feel bad for the cast member. . .I bet they hear that stuff a lot!

Ok, well I got a little behind, so let's address it all:

Glad you liked Dumbo! Did you ever go back to try it at night? There's all these lights in the water, it's SO beautiful. I would definitely recommend it next time, even just to walk back there and take a look!

Poor D - I hope he won't be scared of Splash whenever you next make it back to Disney. My brother rode ToT when he just hit the height requirement and was so upset with the ride he didn't make it back on till he was 10. At least it didn't ruin your whole day.

Columbia Harbor House....:worship: That says it all.

Don't get me started with the bonus FPs. During the busy times of the year (holidays mostly) they do surprise FPs for Carousel of Progress with Buzz Lightyear......it seems like no matter how big and bold they make the print, people still don't read them. Oh the stories I have from being at the FP entrance during those times

Can't wait for your next update!

I bet you do see lots of craziness over those FPs. I can't figure out why people think they would get TWO sets of FPs to the SAME ride at the SAME time??? We did get to Dumbo at night later on in the week. It was beautiful! That was one of my favorite rides! I'm thinking we won't make it on Splash again for a few years. . .D STILL says, "no water ride again!" every time he sees pics! I'm glad someone else loves CHH! Their apple pie makes my heart sing!

Oh, my word .... that shirt your DS is wearing is precious !!

Thank you! :goodvibes

This is a great picture of the three of you! :)

You can't tell that D had a traumatic morning at all!

Yes, he doesn't look scarred for life here, huh? You can't see the swollen eyes for the glasses! :rotfl2:

Oh, yeah. TERRIBLE. Even more so when the pediatrician mentioned that the bones had already started to heal... meaning if they weren't healing properly, there was a chance the ortho would have to RE-BREAK the bones in order to set them. :faint: Thank the Lord that was not the case!

Oh my goodness!!! I can't believe they thought they would have to rebreak them. I think I would've passed out right there!

Ok, y'all. . .update coming!

Stitchs Back in the Groove!

Naps made everyone feel better and got them back to the “We’re in Disney, Let’s Have FUN!” mentality!

We got ready and headed down to go to Brian’s FAVORITE dinner—the Cape May Clambake at Beach Club!

A little backstory: in2005 (when it was just me & Brian, obviously), we booked a last minute trip to take advantage of the then-new Free Dining promotion. We stayed at Pop (then everyone got the SAME free dining), but we booked so late that our restaurants we always went to were full. So, the CM at that time suggested her favorites. One of them was Cape May. I think between the two of us, we ate 15 plates of food that day. . .no joke! Brian’s love of that restaurant began then! We had a less-than-great experience there, though, a few years ago, and so we hadn’t been back. I was really hoping this would be good, since Brian was really looking forward to it!

Our plan to get to Cape May seemed to make sense. Ride the bus to Epcot and then walk through to Beach Club. Well, we waited and waited on the Epcot bus. Now, I know. . .you all are good DIS’ers and are thinking “You could’ve taken ANY theme park bus and gone to the Beach Club spot”. Yes, but then I would’ve had to convince D that we were getting OFF the bus just to stand there to wait on another one. I was still trying to restore goodwill from the morning!

SO. . .we get on the Epcot bus, and go in. We decided to stop for PhotoPass pics, since we had some time to kill.

Photo0238FourBySix.jpg

Photo0241FourBySix.jpg

The photographer was terrific, and she really clowned around with D!

We walked on through, and stopped for more pics. This guy was a little less terrific—he couldn’t understand that D’s cheesy face was ok with us. ;) We finally convinced him, and he got some pics.

Photo0245FourBySix.jpg

Photo0249FourBySix.jpg

Here was the flaw. . .we spent so long taking PP pics that Brian decided we needed to move a little faster toward the Beach Club. Brian is 6 feet tall. I am 5 feet tall. Let’s “move a little faster” is translation for “Brooke, try to remain sweat-free while walk/sprinting toward the Beach Club”. Yep. Oh well! I just kept telling myself I was burning off the upcoming meal (let’s not think about that fried food gloriousness I had for lunch!).

We made it with several minutes to spare! In fact, Cape May hadn’t opened yet. But, the check-in line was long. Brian and D walked around while I got our buzzer. Then we took advantage of those cute, fun chairs at Beach Club to relax!

Our buzzer went off shortly after that, and in we went. Our server’s name was Jane Anne, and she was really sweet. We were seated in that little room to the right when you first walk behind the podium. It was a little weird being off in there, but it ended up great.

I went to the buffet first to get food for me & D. Hold on. Danger, Will Robinson. There are no fries! :rotfl: Normally, I wouldn’t worry about that, but Splash Mountain Survivors have to have a little sustenance that they like! I got D some chicken nuggets and a roll and figured we’d make up for the lack of fries with some grapes or something. (See how rattled I was? I forgot the Disney secret!)

I got back to the table, Brian went to the buffet, and I started cutting D’s nuggets. Hold on again. These aren’t chicken. They’re FISH. Ruh-roh. I guess I must’ve had a look of panic on my face recognizable to other Moms. This nice lady was sitting with her two kiddos (one was about D’s age), right across the room. She caught my eye and mouthed, “They’re FISH”. I said, “yep, I know.” Right then, the server brought her a plate. It was about 30 (no exaggeration) chicken nuggets! She said, “Come here and take some!!” Crisis averted! We shared her chicken! She was my Disney miracle! Then Jane Anne appeared again and asked if D wanted some fries. She brought a DINNER PLATE FILLED with fries. She said she told the cook it was for “one little boy” and that was how many the cook thought one little boy could eat!

So, I shared the fries with the other mom and her kids. I love Disney magic and how the guests are like instant friends, too!

Brian had come back by then, and he had deemed this the best meal of the entire trip! He had crab legs and I don’t know what all else!

IMG_1093-Copy-Copy.jpg

I had to agree with him. . .this buffet was pretty darn terrific! My favorite was the peanut butter blondie! Yummalicious!

IMG_1094-Copy-Copy.jpg

After dinner, we had originally planned to go back to MK and watch Wishes and Magic, Memories, and You. Since we were already at Beach Club, though, Brian had said earlier that he’d rather just stay at Epcot.

Stay at Epcot? We don’t LIKE Epcot! And yet, there we were again! Perish the thought. . .it was lots of fun! More on that in the next post!

Ok, you and your family have the best matching t-shirts! I'm completely :lmao: right now with the "mine mine mine" shirts. In fact, the picture of your DH holding up the crab legs is so perfectly positioned that it looks like the seagulls on his shirt are trying to get a bite of them! :rotfl: Love it!

I love the shots you get with D. The photographer not understanding his overly cute smile does not make sense to me. His smile says I have cute cheeks and love life to me. It is adorable, and I am glad he got that it should not be changed and finally snapped the picture. That was very nice of you and the other lady to share your fries and chicken. It is so hard to find things kids like to eat. Sticking together even with strangers seems like a good plan. Epcot is Crap’s favorite park. If we are nearby, that is the park we would go to. I cannot wait to read what happened. While I do not enjoy it as much as Crap, it is safe to say I enjoy it a lot more than you do.

My sister saw those tees on our trip last year and really wanted one! She needed up getting a coffee mug with that picture on it instead of a tee.

I had dinner at Cape May for the first time last summer, too. I really enjoyed it, and I'm not a big fan of seafood! Shane and I are going for dinner one night on our October trip... it'll be his 1st time (and he does like seafood, LOL!) I'm curious to see what it will look like after its refurb over the summer.

In fact, the picture of your DH holding up the crab legs is so perfectly positioned that it looks like the seagulls on his shirt are trying to get a bite of them! :rotfl: Love it!

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Sorry I fell behind!

CHH looks really good, we'll have to make a point to try it some time!

Cape May is my DHs favorite restaurant too! All you can eat crab legs pretty much = nirvana for him. :lmao:

The Epcot pics are great, and I completely understand why you had to wait for that bus. Explaining to a toddler that you're getting off the bus only to wait for another one? Not fun.

How awesome was that other customer? That's the coolest thing ever! I love that you two shared the special food for the guys! Isn't WDW the greatest place ever?

My Bryan didn't want me to take pics of his food at Cape May, he was embarrassed knowing that I'd put it in the TR :lmao: Please tell me that you tried the Oreo BonBons. They are my favorite dessert in the whole world. (DDs now too)!!! I think I ate 4 last time!

love your shirts! and what a silly PP dude, the cheesy smile is the cutest EVER!

funny about the chicken and fries, nice you and the other mom shared so well!

Loved this update. Your PP pics are so good-everyone you post is good!

We've never tried Cape May-even stayed at both Yacht and Beach Clubs on two different trips, and never did it. Glad this trip redeemed a favorite restaurant for you! So glad the other mom and you could work together to get your little ones their chicken nuggets and fries! :)

YUM! That looks delicious! And I could never say no to an evening at Beach Club.

In our past trip I actually chose Epcot over Studios for the evening and I was pretty shocked at myself - but it'd been awhile since I'd seen Illuminations so I figured Epcot deserved my time ;)

Oh no! You forgot the Disney secret! The one thing I plan to use EVERY SINGLE MEAL next time!! :rotfl:

So glad you were able to have some of the other family's nuggets and fries. That right there is a crisis averted!

And silly photographer. How could anyone think you wouldn't love that precious boy's crazy grin?? It's the cutest!

We are all about the matching shirts! :rotfl2: I always say it helps me "find" them when I get behind! I hadn't noticed that about DH's shirt! That's hilarious!

I love the shots you get with D. The photographer not understanding his overly cute smile does not make sense to me. His smile says I have cute cheeks and love life to me. Thanks for the sweet comments about D's smile! I love it, and I know I'll be sad when he stops doing it! One of my very favorite things about WDW is how it "unites" the people there. Other places you go on vacation, you may never speak to anyone outside your party because you don't know them, but at WDW, you talk to everyone like you're familly. Or maybe that's just me. . .DH says I'd talk to a wall!

My sister saw those tees on our trip last year and really wanted one! She needed up getting a coffee mug with that picture on it instead of a tee.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Love those tees! I've even had to upgrade D's a size so they would still work as a set! ;) Can't wait to hear what you think about the refurb and what Shane thinks about Cape May in October!

Sorry I fell behind!

CHH looks really good, we'll have to make a point to try it some time!

Ohhhh, the oreo bonbons!! They make my heart happy!! ;) You are absolutely right. . .WDW is the best place ever!

love your shirts! and what a silly PP dude, the cheesy smile is the cutest EVER!

funny about the chicken and fries, nice you and the other mom shared so well!

Thanks!! Yes, she was definitely a lifesaver with the chicken!!

Loved this update. Your PP pics are so good-everyone you post is good!

Thanks for the compliments!! You definitely should try Cape May! It's worth it at least once just to see if you like it!

YUM! That looks delicious! And I could never say no to an evening at Beach Club.

In our past trip I actually chose Epcot over Studios for the evening and I was pretty shocked at myself - but it'd been awhile since I'd seen Illuminations so I figured Epcot deserved my time ;)

Hmmm. . .I'm not sure I could pick Epcot over Studios, but I agree with you on Beach Club! It is SOOOO beautiful!! When D is a little older, we want to stay there on our trip (I want D to be old enough to really enjoy the pool!).

Oh no! You forgot the Disney secret! The one thing I plan to use EVERY SINGLE MEAL next time!! :rotfl:

So glad you were able to have some of the other family's nuggets and fries. That right there is a crisis averted!

Thanks!! Yes, I know--Splash Mountain destroyed my ability to remember the secret! Ahhhh! :faint:

Sorry I have been MIA!! The beginning of school has had me overloaded!! Thanks for sticking around! I hope to be back with another update sometime this week!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

What is this???? A REAL UPDATE?? Did the school year finally slow down? Well. . .not really to that last one, but I have finally gotten time to update! I'm hoping for some time to get several updates done this weekend. Over the past month or so, we've gotten our 2013 trip booked and planned, and with some extra pixie dust, booked an Oct 2012 trip to Disney's HHI resort! So excited! So, without further blah blah blah, here's the next update:

We headed back into Epcot, via the International Gateway entrance. This time, though, we could walk a little slower! ;)

When we topped the hill from that entrance, there was a PhotoPass photographer on the bridge. Did we stop? OF COURSE!

He was absolutely the most hilarious PhotoPass photographer encounter ever! He was standing behind the tripod, staring off into space. We walked up, and he never moved. Brian said, “We’d like to have a picture made, please.” He said, “Yeah. Ok. Sure.” We walked to the standing point, turned around, and he pushed the button. No joke! No counting, no “ok, here we go”, no nothing. After he clicked the button, he said, “Thankyouhaveamagicalevening”. I couldn’t help but laugh.

Photo0253FourBySix.jpg

Amazingly, though, the pic turned out ok!

As we continued walking, Brian spotted Marie in France! We’ve never met her, so I admit. . .I was more excited than D was!

IMG_1247.jpg

IMG_1253.jpg

We left there and decided to try something new. We headed to Karamel Kuche (or however you spell it!) to get a treat. D & my mom share a love for Werther’s. Their favorites are the milk chocolate caramels. When D saw the wall of bags of candy, he said, “You HAVE to call my Nonna!!” :rotfl:

He picked out some candy, Brian picked out some candy, and I went to the case to pick out a treat. Never mind that I had just eaten (and never mind the 2 peanut butter blondies I had at the end of the meal), I needed a treat! Calories don’t count at Disney, right?? I had a pretzel stick with caramel, chocolate, and crushed peanuts. It was YUMMALICOUS!!!

We had our snacks and continued our walk through Epcot. We had a particular goal in mind.

Next up. . .Duffy!!

We finally got to Duffy when he was in his last set of visits. We got in line and D was so excited! He kept saying, “I LOVE Mickey’s teddy bear!” Right in front of us was this really nice lady and her little boy (he looked like he was about 7). As we progressed up the line, she realized her husband had her camera, and he was sitting on a bench outside of the Duffy store. She started yelling (not in a bad way, just trying to get him to hear her), “Michael, come here!” She must’ve done that about 10 times. Finally, he heard her and walked up to the walkway. About that time, D pipes up (in his best Tennessee accent), “Miiiiiiiiiiichael, come heeeeere!!” Everyone in the line laughed! It was pretty funny!

We finally got up there, and Mr. Independent wanted to run right up for pics.

Duffy was terrific! I love character interaction when they are terrific, and he was definitely magical! D was thrilled!

After that, we had a little boy who was in need of some “monduhrail” time. So we headed out of Epcot and right to the monduhrail! We rode back to TTC and then back to Magic Kingdom. D was in monduhrail heaven!

Just a quick trip from there back to Wilderness Lodge, and we were settled in for the night! Hard to believe another trip day was in the books!

:rotfl::rotfl: about the PP CM, thought at first he was joking, guess he wasn't feeling his job that day :rotfl:
it is a cute photo though, and the ones with Marie and Duffy are precious....Duffy is a fun guy!

hope things are settling in at school, Megan starts back on 9/5...mama is looking forward to a bit of quiet time :goodvibes

have a fun long weekend!!

That is precious how D thought of his Nonna in the caramel shop! :)

Hope school is off to a good start for you!

Nothing like totally falling off the map for 6 weeks!! :)

But,I'm back (in case anyone even noticed we were missing!). Here are 2 updates!

Stitchs Seeing Stitch!!

In my original plan, this was booked as our second “relax” day. However, when I booked ADR’s, I guess I forgot that because I booked the ADR for 7:45 am. Ok. I guess we’ll relax later in the day! :rotfl:

I got up super-early to get ready, and then the guys got up, got ready (so much quicker to be a guy!) and we headed out. Of course, we had to stop for a couple of pics before we went to the bus:

IMG_1254_zps1d1f255f.jpg

We didn’t wait long before a Magic Kingdom bus arrived, and we were off! D was in heaven because we got to ride the “monduhrail” to the Poly.

We got there about 7:40, checked in, and it was off to the picture stand. They had just opened it, so we were the 2nd family to have our picture made. Of course, D had to display his CHEEZIE face! The photographer was an elderly gentleman, and he was not overly impressed by D’s smile. He kept saying, “He’s closing his eyes” over and over. Finally, he snapped the picture and said, “Well, his eyes were closed, but oh well.” I just had to laugh!

We were seated pretty quickly and started on the WONDERFUL bread. Boy, I love that stuff!! Our server was really quick (I wish I could remember her name—she was wonderful!) and brought our food almost immediately!

We didn’t wait long, and Lilo & Stitch started around the room. Lilo was the first to arrive at the table. D had no interest in her AT ALL. I think it was the fact that she’s like a “face” character. . .he is not much for those! I finally got him to have a picture made with her, but he wasn’t really thrilled! ;)

IMG_1260_zpscad432fb.jpg

After she left, I went into worried momma mode that he would not like any of the other characters and wouldn’t want to have anything to do with them. (Yes, I know he’d already seen lots of characters throughout the week, but I could just envision some “’Ohana means freakout” thing going on.)

I shouldn’t have worried though, because he was all about Stitch when Stitch arrived! I guess Stitchs just bond well!

IMG_1265_zps277b9351.jpg

After they left, it seemed like it took a while and Mickey and Pluto were nowhere to be seen. We really didn’t have anything planned so I wasn’t worried about getting anywhere, but it’s hard to keep a 3-year-old that interested in sitting there when swinging from the rafters isn’t a choice!

While we were waiting, the PhotoPass picture deliverers arrived. There were two of them, and as they approached, one of them said, “There he is! There’s the cute smile boy!!” Evidently, they had seen the D’s face in the picture and both of them had come to see him. It was really funny!

Photo0265FourBySix_zps8a1b432c.jpg

About that time, Dalton decided he needed to go to the bathroom—RIGHT NOW. So, we went to the bathroom (potty seat in hand, in it’s trusty bag) and handled that situation. When we walked out, he looked at me so very seriously and said, “Momma!!! Pick me up and RUN!!! We can’t miss Mickey!” It cracked me up! But, that’s exactly what I did!  We took off from the bathroom back to our table, and Mickey was two tables away! D was so excited to see Mickey and Pluto, but when they got close to our table, another family had been seated next to us, so they went there first. Poor D was beside himself waiting on them! ;)

IMG_1271_zpsf0a5c832.jpg

Then Mickey and Pluto arrived almost right on top of each other!

IMG_1286_zpsc264060d.jpg

We finished up breakfast right after we left and headed out. I went over to the PhotoPass counter to have our breakfast pic added to the PhotoPass Plus card (again, LOVE the PhotoPass Plus!!), and the guys went off to explore!

After I finished, I took a potty break myself ;) , and then I set off to find my guys. I couldn’t find them anywhere! I finally got a text from Brian saying “come out to the pool, turn right, and you’ll see us!”

NEXT POST: Where did my Stitchs go? My very favorite Disney moments in the next post. . .

When last we left off, I was headed off to find my missing guys at the Poly, as directed by the mystery text!

I went out by the pool, turned right, and found them! They were playing on the beach!

D was in heaven! We walked up where we could see the castle/Grand Floridian, and then we also tried out the hammocks. It was just a perfect day and one of those moments that you want to freeze in time—sunshine, my guys, the Poly beach, and that “Disney feel”! That’s what Disney does for me! It makes my heart smile!

These are also my very favorite pics of the trip:

IMG_1308_zps2332c688.jpg

Now that we’re back in the “real world”, when things get stressful, that’s where my mind goes—to the beach at the Poly in the sunshine! It really was wonderful!

I guess we hung out there for about 45 minutes, and then we headed back to the resort for our next “plan” of the non-planned day. ;)

great photos at breakfast and on the beach :goodvibes I love that sweet little happy face!
