Mickey and the Monduhrail! The Stitchs' World Tour! Update 11/1!

boy that Mickey sure does give a good party! love all the little details and how Mickey set up the room for D!

He sure does throw quite the party! ;)

What a cute surprise! I love the way everything was arranged!

Thanks! I had worried over whether or not to book it, but after it happened, I was SO glad I did!

OMG! That is so awesome! How did you pull that off? Did you do that yourself, arragne it with the hotel.....??? Can you pleeeeessssee give me the details? I do have a 4th birthday I need to do something about. I had something similar planned, but it was just going to be me sneaking back into the room and putting out stuff that I brought.

Thanks! I loved it too! I booked it through Disney Florist--www.disneyflorist.com. They have a bunch of celebration stuff for all ages, and then they have the In-room Celebrations--that's what this was called. It was a little expensive, but I was SO pleased with the end result (and hey, it's cheaper than more diapers and wipes ;)). Let me know what you decide to do! It was terrific!

I had fallen two updates behind--had some catching up to do!

I love your PP pics- especially the one with everyone's head turned sideways! The borders are so cute!

I feel the same way about Epcot---We don't even stick around for Illuminations!

Love the surprise-It was so cute with the footprints and all! :)

I am so glad someone else feels like I do! ;) I thought the footprints were great, too--they are also mousepads!

What a cute and fun surprise for D!

Love the CM's response, too funny!

D thought the surprise was terrific, too! He still talks about it! The CM's response was definitely great!!

Happy 4th of July, everyone!! Real-life update coming next post! I hope everyone had a terrific day!

A Real-Life Update

I just wanted to do a little summer update! It’s been in the triple digits here in Tennessee, so our summer activities (which are usually outside) have been a little different. We’ve had a lot of fun over the past few weeks though.

My guys on Father’s Day:

Here’s D at Joe’s Crab Shack playground:

Getting our seafood fix on at Joe’s (this was Bri’s belated Father’s Day dinner):

No summer would be complete without a Splash Country trip (or 3 or 4). Here’s my little man getting his Splash on:

And soakin’ up the sun:

We also did breakfast at my mom’s, so D had time to play with his cousin (my niece), Blythe.

IMG_1296.jpg

Aren’t they cute together? She was a 24-week micro preemie, so to see her as a bouncy bubbly 2-year-old is fabulous!!

Also, along the way, I was a wedding coordinator for one of my former cheerleaders. It was D’s first wedding and wedding reception. He thought it was a BLAST!! He danced and danced with all of the little girls who were there! I may be in trouble!

Ok, I know that update was very non-Disney related, but I thought a little summer fun needed to be included! :) I hope all of you are having a magical summer as well!

Next Up: The Stitchs Go Wild at Animal Kingdom!

Enjoy your TR. We are heading to Disney on Sat. But love the pic from Splash Country we have season passes to Dollywood and Splash we go alot. But wish we were closer to Disney. But when we can't get to Disney then Dollywood is my 2nd favorite..Can't wait to hear more..

I love Dollywood and SC a lot too! I really love to go to Dollywood in the fall--it's so pretty! Enjoy your trip, and have a blast!!

Cute pictures! Were you a cheerleading coach?

Thanks! Yes, for about 6 or 7 years I coached at the high school where I work. I loved it! Makes me feel super-old when they're all getting married! :rotfl:

Okay, that Mickey surprise in your room is totally awesome. I love it. So great! My kids would have flipped!!

I love your summer update, too. Splash Country looks like a blast, especially since it's been so hot for you. It's been really hot here, too, but triple digits--yowch!

Hope you guys are enjoying the rest of your summer!!

great summer photos! can't believe Blythe is already two, so happy she is growing and so healthy!

Great summer update. It's flying by (as usual!). Can you believe we're already in July? I noticed at Walmart that they already had the back to school stuff going out, and I thought-NO!!!

The surprise was really great! We are loving summer, even in the heat! It's just going too fast! ;)

I know! She's growing up so fast!!

It stresses me out when they start putting the back to school stuff out!! :rotfl2: I saw the supply lists out the other day...I'm just not ready! ;). I start back on the 23rd of July, and I am trying not to think about it! ;)

Great TR! I have to say.........you're not alone with your Epcot opinion :duck: If I had to rank my parks, Epcot would be #4. It's just SO BIG, and there's ZERO shade, so I always feel miserable when I'm there. I suspect some of it has to do with my parents being "Epcot isn't for kids" people. However since it's DBF's favorite park, I've made my peace with it. A day in any Disney park is better than a day without Disney! Can't wait for more!

Ok, I really need to stay at WL/WLV some time. It looks so nice and laid back and very nature pretty. And the CS there looks mighty tempting too! And there you were on my last day of WDW and I thought of you guys eating there that night :)
I differ with you on EPCOT, I do love it! But it's okay if you don't feel the same way ;) We mainly went to AK for the Littles since there was more for them to do (we felt) than DHS. Otherwise to me that's the one (AK) to skip.
I feel you on the upgrading to photopass plus taking forever!!!! I LOVE the pic of you and D watching the nemo birds--how sweet :)
What an awesome surprise when you got back to the room, very cool!
And the love of little ones and the monorail!!!! I heard Monorail screamed at the top of someone's lungs each time she saw one followed by the next little screaming the same :) Loved it!!!

So glad someone else shares my Epcot feeling! ;) But you are SO right--a day anywhere in Disney is better than a non-Disney day! I love that you are a CM. . .that must be so awesome! Thanks for reading along!

The resort was terrific, and D fell in LOVE with it. I think he was more attached to the resort than anything else we did. That's so funny about AK--that is my FAVORITE park! :rotfl2: I do love that Disney has stuff for everyone! And it keeps all of us from being crammed in the same park at the same time!

I am so glad someone else's little ones loved the monorail. D has "played monorail" and watched You Tube videos of the monorail ever since we came home!

Ok, y'all, I have 3 picture-heavy AK updates coming. . .one in just a few minutes, and the others will be tomorrow and the next day, probably! Just a word of warning, I love AK, and I love taking pics there! :hyper:

FIRST PARK DAY!! WOOHOO!

Animal Kingdom, Part 1!

I was so very excited about today! Our first full park day at my very favorite park. . .ANIMAL KINGDOM!

I got up at 5:15 am, and the guys got up at 6:15 am. We got coffee and diet coke from downstairs, and then got ready for our adventure!

We were down at the bus stop by 7 am, because I knew we had an 8 am ADR and we wanted to get there.

IMG_1042.jpg

We got there and waited for the bus. And waited. And waited. And waited. And during that waiting time, a bus came for EVERY single bus possibility, and some came twice. I finally went up to one bus driver and asked if there was any way he could tell me if an Animal Kingdom bus was coming. He was not filled with Disney Magic. He said, “I have no idea and no way of knowing.” I said, “Ok.” He said, “The park doesn’t open til 9 am.” I said, “The front desk told us that the buses would begin running at 7 am, even though it didn’t open until 9 am.” He said, “Yeah. Whatever.”

Ok, I was a little fuming at that point. I understand that there is no way he could know, but he could have been just a little nicer. Brian kept reminding me that it didn’t matter. The next bus came, and I asked that driver the same question. He was MUCH nicer and assured me the bus would be there very shortly. It was the next bus that pulled in! Dalton was SO excited that our bus was there and we were ready to go!!

We got to Animal Kingdom about 7:50 am, and we went straight into the park with the other breakfast goers. We got over to Tusker House, and there was a little wait to check in. We got up there quickly, though, and went right through to meet Donald.

Photo0078FourBySix.jpg

This is always one of Dalton’s favorite things—it’s like having Donald waiting on him personally! ;)

After our family pic, the photographer took one of D, too.

Photo0081FourBySix.jpg

We went in to Tusker House and were seated in the first room on the left as you go in. We were all the way up against the wall, which I wasn’t sure about at first, but ended up being good.

The server came quickly, and asked if any of us wanted coffee. I am the only one who drinks coffee in our family, but I definitely needed it! I told him I wanted some coffee, and he brought me a whole pot. He said, “Here you go. The entire thing is for you!” I really wanted to hug him! 

IMG_1043.jpg

Right after he left, and we had all gone to get some food, Daisy arrived at our table. We didn’t have a lot of room to take pictures, so they have sort of a different viewpoint to them.

IMG_0927-1.jpg

After Daisy came, Mickey was next!

IMG_0919.jpg

IMG_0920-1.jpg

When he was gone, Daisy came back into the room and the parade started. D decided that he and I needed to get up and do the parade. We started walking around, and he decided he was going to flop and only walk if I assisted him. I considered it weight-lifting and working off my breakfast! ;) There are no pictures of this extravaganza since Brian filmed it instead.

After the parade of fun, we were visited by Goofy!

We headed out from breakfast. Destination: SAFARI!!!

Next Up: Animal Kingdom, part 2!

We did the 8 am ADR for Tusker House too! From the angles and background in your pictures, I can tell that we were seated just two tables down from you! Love Donald's green outfit - he wasn't wearing that one when we were there.

Because Disney sets such a high standard for their CMs customer service skills, it's always so much more noticeable (and in some cases a shock) whenever we come across a less-than-stellar CM like your bus driver. Don't think that bus driver will be lasting too long at Disney if that's how he responds to guests all the time.

cute pics of Tusker House...we need to try that next trip!

sorry for the grumpy CM....hello don't they have radios he could of called to find out :confused3

have to comment on your t-shirts....we lived on HHI for a couple months when Jim did a reno at Indigo Run CC and we ate at the Salty Dog a lot!

Thanks! Yes, for about 6 or 7 years I coached at the high school where I work. I loved it! Makes me feel super-old when they're all getting married! :rotfl:

I was a cheerleader for 12 years. I used to think I'd want to coach but, I don't know if I could still handle all that pep!

Maddie wants to do cheerleading now, I think I'm gonna find a competition gym to try. That was always my favorite part!:rotfl:
