A little intro. . .

If you would like to read more about the pre-trip stuff, you can read my PTR, “Celebrating Summer STITCH Style” here.

Here’s the Stitch Cast (These were from pre-trip):

First, there’s me:

I am the planner, the detail-person, and definitely Type A. I love the characters, the food, and the magic of Disney!

Then, there’s my DH, Brian:

IMG_0694.jpg

He is the more laidback of the two of us. He has his things he’s more detail-oriented about, but he’s more go with the flow than I am. We love spending time together, and we really love having vacation time to spend just the three of us! He loves the rides, the food, and everything Disney, too!

Last, but most important, there’s my DS, Dalton (or D):

IMG_0801.jpg

This is his “cheesy” face. You’ll see that A LOT.

D is 3 ½ (He’ll be 4 this summer). This trip was originally supposed to be for his birthday, but we had to change the dates. Never fear, we still celebrated his birthday while we were there (More about that later).

We were super-ready for this trip to be here and so excited to go!

:woohoo: think I'm first in line :woohoo:

can't wait to read all about the trip...........and congrats on the upcoming cruise too!

I'm here.. let the party begin!!!
Big D.. Auntie Nan is here... we can get in trouble now and mom can't say anything! neener neener!!!!

Welcome aboard, everyone!! Glad you're here!

Nan, i'm not giving D your message...:rotfl2:

:ccat: Can't wait to read all about it!! Your PTR was one of my favorite things to look for when I logged on:)

Aww, thanks!! More updates coming! But a spoiler before the end. . .you will not be disappointed with Fulton's!!

Can't wait to read all about it.

Yay!! :woohoo:

Can't wait to hear all about it. Love the cheese face!

Welcome! The cheese face is hilarious! We're used to it, but we had to convince the PhotoPass photographers that it was ok with us if he made that face!

:woohoo: You started you trip report! I can't wait to read all about it! :)

Yay! I'm enjoying reading yours as well!!

“Momma, Daddy, we’re going to Deesney World!!!”

If you read my PTR, you know that I finished work for the summer at lunch on Wednesday, May 30th. I picked D up at my mom and dad’s and we headed home. We enjoyed lunch together and, of course, a nap! Then, we anxiously awaited Brian’s arrival home. He ended up having to work over a little, and he didn’t get home until about 5:30.

We ate dinner and did some final packing, and Mickey even delivered some gifts to D. As D says, “Mickey drove his truck here, put stuff on the porch, rang the doorbell, and left before I could see him.” ;)

We also went through much plan-changing about leaving a car at the airport. Originally, my parents were going to pick up our car, leave it at our house, and then return it to the airport on our arrival day. However, Dad had double-bypass surgery 2 weeks before we went, and he wasn’t supposed to drive. We had planned to just leave the car there and pay for the parking, but Mom started feeling bad and was determined to make a way to get the car. We finally worked that out, and all was good to go!

D & I went to bed that night about 10 pm. Of course, I was way too excited to sleep, and I ended up not falling asleep until about 11:30 pm. Not a problem, except I had to get up at 3 am. Who cares?!?! It’s GOING TO DISNEY DAY!

I got up, got ready, and then woke Brian about 4:15 am. He loaded the car and helped me finish packing the toiletry bag. We got D up about 5:00 am, we all ate frozen waffles, and out the door we went to the airport! D was SO excited. . .he kept saying, “It’s time to go to DEESNEY WORLD!!”

We arrived at the airport about 5:45 am for our 6:15 am flight. We unloaded the car and were ready to go!

Once we got our bags checked, we headed for security. In April 2011, we flew to WDW, and that was D’s first time on a plane. He did well, except for the fact that he HATED that he had to give them his shoes to be checked. And by HATED, I mean threw a meltdown to rival all meltdowns!! This time, though, TSA has changed the rules (bless them!!) and no one 12 and under has to remove their shoes. The TSA guy let me go through with D, then Brian came through with the super-backpack of both our work laptops and all necessary gadgets, and then we were on our way! We stopped at the Ruby Tuesday’s in the airport. Brian got a biscuit, and he got me a sweet tea. At this point, I had had 3 cups of coffee and that sweet tea. I was running on Disney adrenaline and caffeine!! Although, minus the Disney adrenaline, that’s a regular day for me! ;)

We were loaded onto the plane very quickly after that. We flew Frontier, and I LOVED them! I’m a goofball, but I like that there are different animals on each plane’s wings/tail with different names. I loved the fact that the flight attendant said, “On behalf of our flight crew and Klondike and Snowball, the polar bears on the wing”. It was like Disney magic before we got to Disney!

For D, he had his own “magic”. Frontier offers DirectTV service for each seat (for a mere $6 each ;) ). We thought that was definitely a good reward for getting up at 5 am, so D watched Disney Junior the whole way to Florida!

Here we are on the plane:

Brian and I read for a while, but the flight was really quick. We actually left 10 minutes early, and we arrived in MCO about 20 minutes early! It was a relaxing, hassle-free flight!

When we landed, we got off the plane. We had to wait a little while for them to bring up the stroller, so we took advantage of the opportunity to take a potty break. This was D’s first-ever no-diaper vacation. . .a source of great excitement in itself!

Brian got our stroller, we boarded the fake monorail, and we headed to the terminal. The Magical Express people were so happy to see us (YES, I know they’re “happy to see” everyone, but it makes me feel good! ;) ). We were sent down chute #4. . .a first for us, since we’ve never stayed at a Magic Kingdom resort. We waited for just a couple of minutes:

IMG_0809.jpg

And then we were on the bus and ready to go!

We watched the video and were bouncing with excitement by the time we saw this:

Next up: Our Arrival at WL

Oh, how exciting-departure day! Such excitement, isn't it?

Big boy stuff for Mr. D---no diapers! YAY! and YAY for you too! ;) I would have paid for the $6 too to have tv for my little ones. That's a bargain.

I had to laugh at your picture arriving at the airport. I noticed your diet coke on the stroller, and had to laugh. I think it's the crack for all teachers!

Yay, I'm glad there's another TR for me to read :) (Though I need to write my own ;) )
Love Disney Adrenaline!!! Too bad I can't bottle it and take a little midway through my work days :rotfl:
Can't wait to see all that unfolds for you all :goodvibes

:woohoo: something for me to read the next few days, I'm having "ready to go anxiety attacks"... my kids have already held a fashion show for their vacation attire...!!!
Love Big D's face...

I guess you have now learned your lesson Missy and will from now on give my man his messages!!! PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!! :lmao:

Ok, back to dye-ing my hair... blonde came out earlier... :faint:

Love the departure day!!! Best $6.00 spent on a plane for Disney entertainment!!

We’re HERE!! Look out, Wilderness, here come the Stitchs!

When last we left off, we had gone under the Magic Kingdom sign. We stopped first at the Poly (helllooooo, 2013 trip!) and then the Grand Floridian (helllooooo, hopefully 2014 15th anniversary trip!), and then it was off to Wilderness Lodge!

We got off the bus, got our stuff, and got ready to head in. Just as we got ready to load D into his stroller, I realized we didn’t have the potty seat. This is a MAJOR deal. We take the potty seat (just the part that fits into the toilet. . .not an actual seat) everywhere! Brian went back to get it (the bus was still there and empty), but we couldn’t get the driver to come to the door. After much banging on the door (I think he might’ve been taking his own potty break), he came to the door, let us in, and the potty seat was retrieved! Yay! Mission accomplished!

While all of this drama was going on, I took a pic of these guys. They seemed unimpressed by my excitement!

IMG_0818.jpg

After getting everything together, we headed inside to check in. The lady at the check-in counter was very nice. She handed me my packet (I had done online check-in), and I asked if there was ANY way our room was possibly ready at that point (it was about 10:30 am). She said it wasn’t, but she thought it would be really soon and that they would text us when it was ready. No worries! We headed over to watch TV in the little kids’ area. D decided he needed to take a potty break, so off he and I went. Well, at WDW, potties are a little different than at our house. For one thing, they’re loud. They also flush “automagically”, and when people go in and out of the stalls, the doors shake. Not a problem for me, but evidently a slight issue for a 3-year-old. So, this turned in to 30 minutes of me sitting on the stall floor while we were accomplishing our goals. ;) At that point was when Brian and I realized that our cellphones were getting ZERO service. We couldn’t talk/text to each other, and we also couldn’t find out if we had a room!

After we reunited with Brian, we decided to head to lunch. We went down to Roaring Forks. I grabbed our mugs (thank you, DDP!) and Brian got our food! I got the flatbread of the day—Buffalo Chicken—and Brian got a pepperoni flatbread. D got chicken and fries. . .this will become a pattern! After a bite of the food, I decided Brian and I should switch, and he was nice enough to accommodate me. The Buffalo Chicken was good, but HOLY COW, it was hot!

IMG_0819.jpg

We did our first really good Mickey dessert with a Mickey ice cream sandwich and a Mickey bar! I don’t have pics of these because they went too fast!

After lunch, we took a few pics and rested in the lobby.

IMG_0768.jpg

I went up and asked at the counter at that point if our room was ready (now 12:30 pm). I explained to the lady that our cellphone batteries were about dead, and even if they weren’t, we had NO coverage in the resort. She said, “well, we have it down to text you when it’s ready”. I explained again that I wasn’t sure that would work. She said, “Well, you can call from any house phone.” She put a rush on our room, and then she said they were getting ready to test the firealarm for an hour in the main lodge, so we might want to go to the Villas since we’d have to wait in the lobby. About 2 pm (and a little craziness along the way), we got our room! Villa 3514 was to be ours for the week!

On the way in, we stopped in the doorway, and Brian and I ran around and took pics.

Our luggage and grocery order arrived to our room just after we did. We took a quick nap, I unpacked and got ready, and then it was off to the next phase of our adventure! I was too tired to fall in love with WL right at the start, but no worries, I did by the end! :thumbsup2
