Day One--Leaving on a Jet Plane
Day 2--Yo ho ho and a bottle of Smirnoff!
We get up, eat breakfast and head over to Gramma's to hang for a while. Around noonish, DH and I take DS back to the hotel to grab swimsuits and extra clothing because the consensus is that everybody is gathering over at Auntie J's that afternoon.
We arrive at Auntie J's and partake of some of the food laid out..it's mostly just grab-n-go fare..chips and sodas and what not. After an hour or so I'm bored to death because all the aunts and uncles are discussing things I know little to nothing about as well as getting steadily plowed. It seems like the only ones not drinking are DH, I and the underage cousins.
Don't get me wrong. I don't disapprove of drinking, just drinking to excess.
We had gone by WalMart's before heading out to Auntie J's to get Little Swimmers for DS. And when I open the package to retrieve one so DS can go in the pool with me, I realize we made a HUGE mistake. We bought Little Mermaid swimpants for DS.
At least nobody will see them under his cute Tigger swim trunks he has. 
So we swim for awhile, squirting guns at a couple of the younger cousins who've hopped in the pool with us. DS is a natural, taking like a duck to water.
The party rolls on and on and on...it seems like the day lasts forever. At some point, I fall asleep in a living room chair with DS on my chest, Steel Magnolias blaring in the background on the TV set. I wake up towards the end, when the funeral scene comes on. Gramma comes in at that point and sits in another chair and I wonder if I should turn the TV off with the remote. In case the scene upsets her too much or whatever. But she seems to be fine.
Finally, sometime after dark, DH says he wants to go, so we head back to the hotel, stopping at Taco Bell on the way to grab some dinner.
Because he had only a shortened version of his nap, DS is very cranky and doesn't want to go to bed. It takes forever to get him to sleep and neither one of us sleep well after that for some reason.
