Thursday December 6, 2012

Okay so the night before we left to head to Disney we decided to load the car to make sure that we had room for everything that we needed to bring with us. Its a good thing we did, because we needed my mom to come over and grab 2 bins and my short white dress on their way the next morning to get my wedding dress on their way to Disney. While we were packing the car, and we were inside the house bringing our luggage downstairs, the phone rang. Side story here... whoever used to have this phone number before us, skipped out on alot of bills... we get calls all the time for a Nick and its ALWAYS bill collectors. So when I saw the caller ID, and it was 1-800 SERVICE I thought for sure it was going to be another person for Mr. Nick. I answered the phone pretty grumpy because we had our hands full, turns out it was Jeff's bank calling to inform us that his card number had been stolen, and they tried to charge things at an Indiana Walmart, Rite Aide, and some where else. Luckily they ended up not getting any money, but the bank suggested to make that card quit working. Jeff explained this isnt good, were leaving for our wedding/honeymoon tomorrow morning. So the bank said he could stop by in the morning to get a new card. Well that was great, but his bank is local and there are none in Orlando, and we wanted to leave at 8:00 am... Well his bank didnt open till 9:00 am, so we planned to be all loaded and ready to go and be in the bank parking lot at 8:45 am waiting. Here is my car all loaded to head to Orlando.

During the night I barely slept, with all the excitement building for the wedding. We headed out and got the card thing situated, and my parents left Sarasota to head to get the stuff from our house and pick my wedding dress up at the bridal store all pressed. We got on the road and headed to Orlando. Our rehearsal was scheduled for 12:00 Noon, and we made it to Franc's about 11:30 am to drop off our bins to Meri our planner. When we pulled up Meri was actually outside with our officiant Tim Herring (who was also there for our rehearsal), and Randy Chapman (who was there for the wedding before our rehearsal). It was neat we were able to talk to Randy for a few and tell him how exctied we were for the next day. We waited for Jeff's parents and my parents to show up for the rehearsal - since we didnt have a wedding party it was only us 6. I wanted to do the rehearsal mainly for our parents to know how to light the unity candle, and Im glad we did just so they felt comfortable.

We went to walk into the wedding pavilion for our rehearsal... and as soon as we walk in they had a muscial of Beauty and the Beast playing and I immediately start bawling! Rev Tim Herring says "Uh oh... if you are crying already, you better have tissues handy tomorrow"! We run through the ceremony and Meri answered any questions that any of us had. Our rehearsal was short and sweet but put my mind at ease.

We then decided to head over to the bakery to drop off and explain the cake stand that my mom and dad made for our wedding. That all worked great and the stand was then in the bakeries hands.

We decided after dropping off the cake stand, that we all better go check into Grand Floridian (my parents were staying there as well). Jeff and I had booked a Theme Park View room, but I had also put alot of requests on our room as to what building and what floors, and basically put on there that it was our room for our wedding/honeymoon and that we wanted a great view of the castle. So since I added all these requests we wanted to check in early to be able to give them a while to work on a good room.

When we pulled up to the Grand, is the ONLY bad expierence we had all trip, the gentleman greeting everyone as they pulled up (Joe) was extremly rude to us. We told him that we wanted to run inside and see if our room was ready yet and if it was then we would liek to unload our car and checkin. We explained to him that my passesnger car door was not locking (unfortunatley, it broke when we got to the bank earlier that morning) and that we had all of our wedding stuff in there and that we wanted to leave the car close by to be watched until we could unload. Well he took it upon himself to try to valet my car right away (which we had asked him not to do until we knew if we could check in and get it unloaded), and he also wanted to check us in on the desk outside (which we also explained that I wanted to go in and be friendly with the front desk staff to make sure we got a great room). Joe then informed Jeff that he would have to either valet or self park that they could not leave it up front. And he was a jerk about it. Jeff decided to self park over in the convention center parking lot since we had just come from there delivering the cake stand and it would only be like 10 mins.

We went it, and found out we were in Sago Kay building, what floor we were on, and where our room was located. It wasnt ready at the time, so they said they would text us. My parents were also lucky, they got the same building (which is what we wanted), and they got a nice view as well (not theme park view, but a quiet view towards a lake facing the monorail). There room wasnt ready either, so we had no place to drop off our stuff. My parents decided to go get lunch and Jeff and I went to Carolyn Allen's to pick up his tux and go to the different guest hotels to drop off welcome bags. Although we had to be careful because my car WASNT LOCKING!

We arrived at Carolyn Allen's and Jeff tux was perfect! We then headed to our first stop to deliver the welcome bags. Let me tell you our guests LOVED the welcome bags but they were a pain in the butt to fit in my car and deliver. Some of the Disney resorts were wonderful about delivering them and some were so rude about it and couldnt figure out how to do it (wasnt that hard, I put a tag on them with the guests name and their confrimation numbers). Port Orleans French Quarter was the worst, so we decided to call those guests and deliver them ourselves, which took more time than we wanted because of course they all wanted to chat.

Finally about 4:00 pm we headed back to GF (we never received a text that the room was done), and when we got there it was done and ready for us. It was a good thing it was ready because we had a reservation for our parents rehearsal dinner at Narcoossee's at 6:00 pm. After getting checked in and all our bags up to the room and my dress from my parents room (because they had checked in at 2:00 pm and had taken my dress out of the bag) it was already like 5:30 pm... Our room was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! We were on the 4th floor of the end of Sago Kay closest to the caslte. We had a dormer room which had a very nice and private balcony, and valuted ceilings. We also were lucky to get a king bed. Couldnt have got a better room!!! Now if only that crane would disappear!!

But I guess we were going to be late for our dinner and I had no time to freshen up. My parents headed there with Jeffs parents at 6:00 pm and asked for a table by the windows, so that I had time to at least change into a nice dress. We ended up getting there at 6:15 pm.

Our dinner was great! Jeff and I both got the surf and turf filet and lobster tail and it was soooooo good. Jeff got the almond crusted cheese cake and I got the chocolate coconut creme bruele. It was very nice to be able to catch up with both sets of parents the night before the wedding. Here are some pics of our parents dinner the night before our wedding. I will also do a dining TR when I am done with the wedding one.

Saturday December 8, 2012 WEDDING DAY:bride:

I ended up only getting about 30 mins sleep when my alarm went off at 3:00 am to get into the shower. The past night I was tossing and turning because I was nervous and super excited, plus I was having crazy heartburn from the dinner at Narcoossee's that night before.

It was very calm though while I was showering and getting my hair dried and flat ironed for Beaute Speciale to come.

At 5:00 am we had a knock on our door and it was Ana and Ami. I had not done a trial run becuase I had heard so much wonderful things about Beaute Speciale, but I was still a little worried.

I had clip in extensions that I would be wearing the day of the wedding that I usually wear for special occasions, and the girls from Beaute Speciale were amazed that I knew it would be best to curl the extension the night before and let them cool and set over ngith before they came... but I used to be an Aveda stylist, so of course I knew that. :)

I showed them pics of hair and make up that I liked. And Ami got to work on my makeup first. Couple of mins later my mom knoked at the door, and Ana started on her hair first.

Here I am gettin gmy make up done. I did end up using fake eyelashes and LOVED them. I have melasma on my face from my contraceptives, and I was nervous about covering it and not having my make up feel too heavy. It was super light when Ami was done and I felt like I had nothing on my face. I had also warned her that I hate bownish/pinkish tones on my eyes, and I also told her that I was not scared of eyeliner! I LOVED LOVED LOVED my make-up! Way to go AMI!!!!

Here is my mom getting her hair done with Ana. I cant believe how long my moms curls stayed in her hair. With the amount of fog in the morning and then going all day and to the dessert party that night... her hair really looked amazing!

Then my dad went to go pick up Jeff's mom for her to be at our room at 6:00 am. She hen started make up and I went to hair.

Here is Jeff's mom. She was very concered about them doing her hair and make-up and her not looking like herself. In the end, she was very comfortable with them both.

At this point Jeff also went into the bathroom area to start getting ready.

Then my flowers came. I LOVED them and thought they were amazing. They were a deep deep red, they were HUGE and so heavy... they actually were very tiring holding them towards the end of the day... but I loved the size for pictures. There were clear hidden Mickeys wired into the bouquet itself. 8 of them for 12/8/12. Then on the handle there were red hidden Mickeys to stand out on the white satin.

My charm with my grandpa's ashes attached to bouquet. My grandpa was with me that day :) :)

Then at this point, the girls finished up hair and make-up and Randy arrived to get some getting ready pics. He was supposed to arrive at 8:00 am and got there at about 7:45 am. Also, that morning it was so foggy out that we couldnt even see the castle and I was becoming a little worried about all of our hair. The girls from Beaute Speciale were so amazing they were calling around to see if we could get some umbrellas so when we walked down and out the building where our room was (Sago Kay) and went walking to the main building... that our hair didnt get misted on from the fog. The fog ended up lifting before we made our way down. Randy said he actually prefers when the sun isnt out and blaring because that way he doesnt get any shadows. Plus I thought it looked kind of romantic.

Randy took Jeff and his mom and met the rest of his family in the main building for pics, while my mom helped me get into my dress & my dad came shortly after up to my room. Remember we didnt have a wedding party so these pics before the ceremony were dedicated to just us individually and with our families. Jeff didnt see me put my dress on so he didnt see the whole picture of what I looked like till I walked down the aisle. After doing Jeff's family pics, Randy came back up to get me with Richard. Side story here... I love Richard! I think he is so precious. I have heard the story of him since before we started really planning. But we asked him that day why he enjoys doing weddings. He said that him and his wife would be together almost 40 years and she died 23 years ago (I think thats the right numbers), and he says he gets joy seeing the brides and that it reminds him of his wife. He enjoys being around true love he said. Soooooooo sweet.

Im going to stop here for a while until I get the professional pics to move foward. If it takes too long I will skip by the wedding day pics and start the day after the wedding to get through the honeymoon and then go back to the wedding day when I get them from Randy.

Hope you girls are enjoying our trip report so far!!!

Your flowers are beautiful!!!! The hidden mickeys really stood out in them. You all looked so pretty with your hair and makeup done. I can't wait to see your professional pictures!

Im adding another post of the day before the wedding because I found more pics......

After the dinner, we walked around the grounds of the Grand and into the main building with our parents, then we had them come up to our room to open their gifts. I had gotten Jeff's mom and my mom a Mother of the Groom/Bride bag, a hankerchief, and a shirt that said Mother of the Groom/Bride. I had botten Jeff's dad and my dad each a hankerchief. It was nice to see them get teary eyed opening their gifts :) Then we all called it an early night, since Beaute Speciale was coming at 5:00 am tomorrow morning. When Jeff and I got back to our room, I decided to unpack some stuff and get all of my wedding day stuff out and ready.

Then the light parade and fireworks started, so we watched both of them from our hotel room balcony. It was so romantic and magical.

After the fireworks, I had to head to bed quickly! I had to wake up at 3:00 am to shower and flat iron my hair before Beaute Speciale come at 5:00 am to make us beautiful...

Michelle,

Hi congrats. I just read through your PJ. Everything looks great and can't wait to see more pics! I was wondering what Esty shop you got your hanger for your wedding dress? It's super cute.

Thanks
